Description

Image

Physical Description/Age: At fifteen years of age, Therion is a rather lean but still lightly muscular youth. His hair is a dark black braid that goes down almost to his feet; the boy has eyes of deep red and stands almost five foot eight inches. He tends to dress in mostly black, but with white silks, golden bangles, and chokers. Sometimes he'll wear other colors, but the clothing is almost always middle-eastern clothing.

Image

Personality: The boy was always a bit callous, but with the advent of magical talent he started to grow slightly more detached from the average human. While still a carefree youth, Therion is beginning to feel more and more detached from people and it is only his close personal connections that afford him any support. He takes magic very seriously, though little else and tends to be disinterested in many things, even to the point of causing mischief to stifle the boredom that most things brings.

Image

Equipment & Abilities: Therion was always a talented mage. From the moment he could harness the energy necessary to cast anything he was already a powerful sorcerer; though he lacked technique. In his years since at Astrius, he's learned to harness his latent talent, specializing in ice magic; though he is still far from reaching the zenith of his power.

Image

Historical Background: A poor family living in dirt gave birth to a son who they thought might inherit their farm. However, at only four years of age the boy, in a fit of rage they could not afford the sweets the neighbors had, sent a spears of ice through his parents, killing them only shortly after impact. The mage felt a slight sadness at their passing but as he was soon picked up and transported to Astrius Academy, sadness quickly turned to jubilation that he might make something of himself at a place that would recognize his worth.

So begins...

The young Magi stepped carefully through the forest, carrying a spare change of clothing for his lost companion. "What a pain..." he complained quietly to himself as a monster scurried away from him. It didn't frighten him as he was enrolled in Astrius, and therefore probably capable of dealing with a hundred of such monsters. "Is this going to happen every month?" The boy kept complaining as he looked for Cliff in the forest. "Honestly, why here of all places? And why don't you let the teachers lock you up." The boy's complaints continued as he kept looking

After sometime, the Magi started to walk carefully through the air, around a foot off the ground. The vantage point let him see ever so slightly more and it was only fifteen minutes after he began to do so that he found his roommate. "Hey shoo!" A nearby monster was sniffing at Cliff's unconscious body, and only after seeing Therion sprint towards it, did the beast run for it. "Geez, what a pain... You'd better learn to control this sooner rather than later." The boy was stark naked; and Therion did his best to lay the jacket over him to cover his entirety. Then the boy placed the shirt, pants, and undergarments next to the boy and stepped through the air, into a nearby tree branch to wait for Cliff.

Therion came out rather early, setting after Cliff not even before the sun has risen. They had plenty of time to get to class, and he may still have quite a bit to wait depending on how rested his roommate was feeling this particular day. As a result; Therion tried to close his eyes, relax, and open his sense. Even though this forest was mostly safe, he wasn't fond of the idea of getting eaten on a trip to pick up his troublesome friend.

Cliff started to wake up with the usually groggy headache he got after a certain moment. He was groggy though, so as someone approached and he started to wake up, he was able to see his roommate as a jacket was placed over him. As expected, with the appearance and feeling he had felt, he was definently recovering from another Full Moon. Of course, they were a bit more frequent on Origin then other planets due to the fact that Origin had two to three moons.

But when he was aware, Theri was just putting down the other clothing. "Mmmhhhmmm...eh? Oh...sorry about this". He said that to his friend while a bit embarassed. Of course, this was a natural thing about being a werewolf, he had been through this countless times already, but it was always bothersome. But as part of the Lyco clan, it was their belief that bad things would happen if they did not run free on full moon nights. And also, the Lyco Pack generally hated being confined in small spaces.

After that he quickly got dressed, putting on the clothing left for him and then he donned his jacket. It might look weird, having shorts with long sleeves, but a werewolf's legs were powerful and he needed the jacket to carry things. As for his original belongings...it looked like he had gone on a rampage or something.

Cliff then pushed off the ground and jumped into the tree branch next to Theri. "Thanks for this. At least this only happens on a full moon. I still have total control when I transform of my own free will after all...hmmm, Hunt".

As he was about to finish speaking, a spectral wolf appeared in front of him and jumped into a nearby bush, ripping off the head of a Goblin that was nearby. Cliff could feel some vibrations through his feet as well.

"Well then, I suppose we should probably get going huh? I don't feel like sharing with any other werewolf today, and it looks like the monsters that are not nocturnal are waking up".

Therion wrinkled his nose, the crease almost obscuring the disgusting Goblin below. "Yes... Let's be out of here then!" The magi smiled at his friend. The boy had been living with him for sometime now and even though at first he hadn't been exactly fond of Cliff due to the age difference, he had grown to like him, and even though he acted slightly detesting of this chore; he really didn't mind.

With a subtle swing, the Magi began carefully treading through the air, descending slowly as he did, careful to keep Cliff within his sights. Though they hadn't known each other TOO long, he had grown attached to the young werewolf, and almost regarded him as a sibling. The boy had dressed and landed near him with a lithe jump when the Goblin was devoured by some sort of spirit magic akin to what other Lope-Garou might use. Sigh... This forest...

Therion began to hurry down the path back to Astrius "Cliff; class is starting soon. I'd rather not be late." His feet lightly touched the ground as he closed the distance between his position in the air and the ground, hurrying forward in a manner that would allow him to both hustle and keep an eye on Cliff. Even though the boy was faster than he, the young werewolf often got distracted and would even at times disappear entirely when Therion wasnt keeping a close eye on him.

Cliff had been right and monsters were indeed stirring; ones more willing to attack wayward students for food than encountered during a night-time stroll. Though it probably wasn't an issue to the two Astrius students, Therion still tried to goad Cliff into racing him by running slightly faster than he was comfortable. "Don't fall behind now slowpoke!" He couldn't help but chuckle as he playfully called back to his close friend.

Cliff looked a bit more around, as he sensed the world better. He was not sure why, but many werewolves seemed to have better senses when barefoot. Well, his feet were strong enough to shatter rocks so he didn't really have to worry about that. Actually, without shoes, he didn't have to worry about holding back and using force that might destroy them, though once he got to campus he would probably put some on from one of the emergency stashes he had buried around the school, in case of emergency.

It might seem a bit strange based on the stereotypes, but there was actually nothing that prevented a werewolf from using magic. Not even reduced magical abilities, at least for the Lyco Clan. In fact, there had been various members that were able to use the Lyco Clans special Spirit Magic, something Cliff was also able to use. That included the Spirit Pack, a huge amount of Wolf Spirits that Cliff could command.

And upon hearing the temptations and goading, Cliff decided to race...seriously. He did not transform, but he did begin to use all fours and that let him increase his speed significantly. Enough so that Theri would find himself having to pick it up quite a bit if he wanted to win and...

"Huh? Is that my stuff?"

Cliff noticed as he passed some familiar looking stuff scattered across a leafy area after running a bit. HOwever, this in itself was strange because for one thing, he didn't strip down in this area, and he had everything packed together. Somehow the pack got loose during the trip, it happened sometimes which was why he asked Theri to bring a change of clothes for him for when it went missing, but now it was all...

"Theri! I smell Orc!"

As Cliff went closer to investigate, he caught the scent of the Orc as he grabbed some of the stuff and barreled out of the way as several Flame Lance spells tried to hit him. At the same time, nets sprung out of the leafy zones and attempted to catch them, though Cliff managed to get out of the way of his.

"Orcs so close to the Academy? I didn't think they even normally appeared in this area!"

Therion smiled wildly as Cliff bounded past him, and struggled to keep up. Holy crap Cliff don't leave me behind. The magi ascended slightly, only six or so inches off the ground while sprinting after the currently quadrupedal boy; he thought about calling out to Cliff to slow down, but he also realized that trying to do so would probably cost too much breath. Besides, I would like to get to class a little early...

"Clliiiff please" the words came in quick breaths as the magi took a moment to collect himself and try to correct his breathing. the boy had stopped to inspect some scattered belongings. Theri's hope of getting to class in time to study a little more were shattered as the werewolf informed him he smelled Orcs. "Orcs? Orcs don't come to the Corelands, it's too close to the city." He huffed out, not that the boy doubted his friend, it was more of an exclamation of shock. Flame Lances confirmed what Cliff had already known, and from his vantage point, Therion could see Orcs attempting to ensnare the werewolf.

Some of the Orcs had to have been mages, which was a rare enough occurrence to give Theri pause; though only a single moment "Hey, don't you know poaching is illegal in the Corelands!" With a flourish, he cast Ice Spears, raining them down on the Orcs that had tried to net his friend. Theri really enjoyed violence, especially against Non-magi, and thus he was willing to take the extra time to do a little monster hunting. The boy grinned wildly as he watched the spears plummet down through the sky, searching for exposed Orc flesh.

Orcs. A monster that was known to have some of the highest variations and largest amount of evolutions. Orcs, High Orcs, Noble Orcs, Orc Kings, Orcs Mages, Orc Berserkers, Orc Champions, Orc Archers. Actually, lately Orcs had been managing to get their hands on guns and advanced weapons as well, so they were more dangerous in the last few decades. There were actually some groups of Orcs that were managing to learn human speech.

As such, if Orcs were spotted in the Corelands, which otherwise has low ranking monsters for the most part, excluding a few territories and regions inside that were different, they would usually be hunted to extreme persecution.

"And also, Werewolves are illegal to pouch unlike you!" Cliff yelled at the Orcs after his friend did, using trees to jump off and change direction to slam into a few more Orcs. "So realizing your situation and stop getting in our way!"

Cliff made sure to avoid Theri's attack and moved around to the side to where a few were attempting to sneak up on Theri. Wolf claws appeared on his hands and let him rip into the extremely thick skin of Orcs, letting him damage them with hand to hand combat while he used his Spirit Magic that was a trait that had been seen manifest on occasion in the Lyco Clan.

"Pack Hunt!"

Of course, Lyco was only eleven years old. Even if he was an exceptional fighter and quite gifted, not to mention a Werewolf, running into the middle of eight to nine Orcs was usually a bad idea. However, as he tore the head off of an Orc while kicking another Orc, doing severe damage and dislocating its arm, the spell he released summoned various Wolf Familiars like the one before and went and hunted the Orcs that were around him.

It was already a spell that would make the familiars chase after their targets, but at close range it became a spell that with the exception of truly gifted people, could not be dodged. And because they were Spirit Wolves infused with mana, they were far stronger then normal wolves.

If Theri was a mage that preferred long ranged combat, Lyco was a mage that preferred short range combat. What he lacked in range he made up for in power.

As he finished off the ones he spotted, he felt the ground shake and a strange and unfamiliar scent penetrated his nose.

"Errr....Theri, something troublesome seems to be coming. Fight or flee?"

Cliff said that as several large trees were pushed out of the way...and a Cyclops was approaching.

That was definently not something that should be in the Corelands.

Therion watched with a sort of detached interest as the rain of ice shards shredded the Orcs; the average Orc was next to dirt for the Magi and he only paid enough attention to ensure they were no longer an issue. Satisfied with his observations of their death the boy turned towards one of the Orc Mages, they were standing close enough together that a Chained Lightning should fry most of them.

It took slightly more energy to produce the lightning that roared towards the Orc who had first cast Flame Lance, but it was definitely worth the effort. As these Orcs were Mages, Theri took extra interest in their demise and didn't even notice the Orcs moving to flank him. Thankfully his friend did, and Cliff shifted his hands into claws and dealt with the approaching brutes.

By then the Orcs began to falter, morale broken, the weakest of them had began to flee. He was about to send seeking missiles scattering after them, but Cliff was quicker on the draw and had already summoned a pack of his spirit wolves to tear after the cowards. With a lack of any real enemy, Theri let loose a triumphant laugh "My, my, my; Orcs don't know the might that is Astrius Academy?" With one hand on his hip, the Magi began guffawing, so much so he almost didn't notice Cliff's warning.

"Fight or flee?" Cliff's voice was heard, but it wasn't until the trees started to fall that Therion managed to contain his mirth. "This one might be a little fun. We can be a little late?" Though he'd phrased it like a question, the Magi's mind was already set as he began to gather energy. The Cyclops lumbered into sight, and with a wild look in his eye Theri screamed out "Fee Fi Fo Fum, I am Noman, and Noman will be your death! GLACIO! "

The slight reference to the classics made him giggle manically as he spread ice onto the ground, sapping moisture from the air and nearby flora. A few trees withered and imploded on themselves as the moisture was ripped from them, and the ice rapidly tore across the ground until it was completely slick for nearly a hundred feet around the Cyclops, and slightly creeping up the monster's feet. Not that he expected it to trap the monster, that had not been his goal, rather it was simply a by-product of the ice magic.

"Its true, it is really abnormal Orcs got this far" Cliff noted to Theri as he kept his eyes on the now approaching Cyclops. "Though, I suppose it could also be said we got lucky to run into them first. It would be bad if normal people with no combat abilities were to encounter them, like farmers and such".

As for the Cyclops, part of Cliff wanted to believe it was a figment of his imagination. After all, there had never once been a case of a Cyclops appearing in the Corelands, and yet now there was one so close to Hayslem City? The capital of the Rosetta Kingdom, and the home of Astrius Academy? There was something fundamentally flawed with that.

"I suppose we cant leave it be anyways. Or else innocent bystanders might become its prey".

Even though Cliff was worried, a smile went across his face. That was because in truth, he enjoyed a good fight. Maybe it was his werewolf blood, but it was just enjoyable to him to put his skills to the test.

As the ice spread around the area, Cliff himself also had to make sure not to get caught in it. It wasn't that he didn't think Theri couldnt control it to not hit him. The issue was, he was still barefoot. Even if he was a werewolf, that would sting. A lot. So he jumped up into one of the non-exploding trees, and as he did the Cyclops...started to slide. His position accidentally became similar to that of a figure skater for a moment, but then ended up slipping and falling to the ground.

With that done, Cliff tore off a large branch and jumped over the Cyclops. This branch was over three times Cliff's size, and he used it plus gravity and his strength and momentum to pierce through the eye of the Cyclops.

It wasnt that a Cyclops was easy prey, but rather that they were simply exceptional students who took Astrius Academy Combat Courses.

However, as he jumped off and over and landed next to Theri, he saw the sun in the sky and gulped. After that, he did have one idea...but his face turned a bit red from how embarassing it was.

"Oh no, we are definently going to be late now....well, we might have a chance of making it on time if....if I were to take off all my clothes again, and you carried them while riding me in my werewolf form until we got to the academy and found someplace isolated for me to shift back to get dressed again..."

Although because he was a werewolf he had incidents in the past that made him a bit more used to it, Cliff still didn't really want to be naked in public if he could help it, even if it was an isolated location. Theri was his roommate, so obviously since they shared a room they would see each other plenty of times, but still. However, a majority of why he was embarrassed was the idea of being ridden by someone. However, it was true that if they did that, at the very least they would only be a few minutes late.

Theri watched with slight envy as Cliff ripped a large branch from the tree he had perched on and flung himself through the air with it. Theri wasn't too strong physically, in fact most of Astrius was stronger than him, or at the very least able to transmute themselves as such. It was a magic that Therion had never bothered to learn, and at times he felt a slight pang of regret that he wasn't stronger physically, though it didn't last long.

Cliff drove the branch home, blinding and subsequently ending the Cyclops's life with a squelch. Theri yawned, looking towards the sky as his friend noticed the time. Crap; so much for arriving early... The magi noticed his roommate blushing and raised an inquisitive eyebrow at the sight, Cliff rarely blushed at violence and his friend found it quite odd.

Therion's confusion was dispelled as his friend explained his plan to make it to class on time, and Theri found his face turning bright red. "I, uh oh...." The magi stood in silence for a moment after hearing his roommate's proposal, fighting to return his face to a regular color, or at least a less noticeable shade of red. "I-I-I mean.... um... We could be late, it's not TOO big of a deal," he tried to sound nonchalant and brush off his embarrassment, but found it a little difficult.

"Though... If you're comfortable with it, I suppose I wouldn't mind." Actually, Therion would have preferred to get there on time, but he wasn't sure how his roommate felt about being ridden. It's not like... a horse or something. Cliff is human, sort of. Though I will admit the thought has crossed my mind... Are werewolves soft? Would they be if you shampooed and conditioned them? Theri started daydreaming about werewolves while his friend made up his mind.

As all the enemies had been defeated, Cliff was left with a difficult choice. However, Theri had come all the way out here to help him, and there were only so many times that the full moon excuse could be used. Not to mention, they did have to go and report the matter of the ORcs and Cyclops as soon as possible.

And, he really did not want to be the reason for Theri to be late.

"All....allright, this time.....because, you know, we have to quickly report the Orcs and the Cyclops".

He said that as he took everything off, and including what was recovered from the Orc ambush, after he was done he gave it to hold. Incidentally, there appeared to be an injury on Cliff's right leg, but his werewolf healing was already taking care of it. Otherwise, it looked like he had never recieved an injury once, likely thanks to his healing abilities.

After that, he transformed in front of Theri. He had intentionally transformed in the past, but because he usually found someplace quite to take off all his clothes previously, this was probably Theri's first time seeing Cliff transform into the beast in front of him. Incidentally, Theri would come to understand why people still hunted werewolves, albiet illegally, from this. Werewolf fur was not only soft, it was heavenly soft to the point of being addicting. It was as if werewolf fur was the god material for pillow making.

This was why werewolves usually did not let people ride them. After people did, they usually wanted the werewolf to be like, their pillow or something.

Theri did his best to avert his gaze, turning around abruptly when Cliff began stripping. A slight blush crept across his face as he tried to take his friend's clothes to hold without seeing him stark naked. Not that he hadn't seen most of his roommate naked by then anyways, it was just a feeling Therion was unsure he'd ever get over.

"Y-Yeah, wouldn't want Orcs coming to retaliate against us, only to find innocent bystanders instead. Or, heavens forbid another Cyclops..." The magi gulped hard in an attempt to swallow down his embarrassment. Out of the corner of his eye, Cliff shifted, becoming a mass of muscle and fur. Okay Therion, be cool, it's perfectly normal to... ride your roommate back to Magical Academy to report on Orcs and Cyclops ambushing people in the Corelands! Somehow the thought didn't make Theri feel any calmer.

"HOLY CRAP!" Theri was at a loss for the way the werewolf fur felt against his skin. It was nearly impossible, the boy had once held a cashmere blanket, and it seemed like gravel in comparison. "Uhh, I mean holy crap how odd was it to find Orcs and a Cyclops in the Corelands?" He winced at the sound of his voice trying to lamely come up with an excuse for his fervor in relation to how unimaginably soft the werewolf was. Therion hadn't been this comfortable, In years? I don't think I've ever been this cozy...

The boy's thoughts began to trail off as Cliff tore through the forest at speeds Theri would've never considered possible without feats of magic. The gentle swaying of the heavenly soft fur underneath him as Cliff bolted back to Academy was almost too much for Theri, and before long, it WAS too much and the magi fell asleep, losing his grip and falling right off of his roommate.

Hitting the ground awoke him in an instant, and Theri sat bolt upright. Where the cra- "Cliff!" Theri's face turned beet red as he realized what had just transpired. "I, uh, that is to say... I used up too much magic back there." The words sounded lame even to him, as he tried to come up with a believable alternative to what had just transpired. He hurried after Cliff, certain he wouldn't fall asleep again, even if only due to the hot flush of embarrassment he'd feel for the rest of the day. "Sorry about that, let's get back before the Orcs have time to mobilize and potentially hurt someone."

Cliff was not exactly someone who just wanted to strip whenever either. Although, he felt a bit better about it inside the woods, maybe because it was more natural and there was less people. However, he really felt bad about making Theri skip class, and there was urgent danger about the Orcs and Cyclops which had to be reported.

And as Theri observed, Werewolf fur was heavenly. Although it was true many people had hunted Werewolves in the past because not only had they been dangerous and due to the persecution and mistrust causing them to develop more of rogue and dangerous elements before times were modernized and people became more understanding, there was another reason for quite a number. A rather greedy reason. And that was Werewolf fur.

It was at a quality that defied reason. It was comparable in quality to divine artifacts, only Werewolf fur could be obtained much more easily. In other words, Werewolf Fur was a Divine Level commodity that was far easier to obtain then others. Royal beds had been made from this fur. And because of that...

Uh oh!

Theri had fallen off. When Cliff realized it, he quickly circled back to pick up Theri. He even changed back into his human form for a moment because he could not speak in Werewolf form, as he had told Theri in the past. And because Cliff was ultimately a good person, even if it was embarrassing he did this because he was concerned for Theri's health and safety.

"Theri! Are you okay?!"

That said, it appeared it was from magic exhaustion, and not from his fur. He got a bit embarrassed again, because they were really close to the city now, in an open field, and Cliff was human again. After covering himself with his hands, even though Theri was his roommate and they often used the Dorm's Shower and Baths room at the same time, because he was outside he had this habit. But he quickly returned to his Werewolf form, and helped Theri back on before he ran towards the Academy once more.

Cliff bounded along, the distance between the Corelands and Astrius Academy was closed in a shockingly short amount of time. Therion had never fully appreciated the distance in physical capability between him and his roommate until now. Certainly Cliff was stronger, but this was borderline ridiculous. Before long, the spectacular buildings of Astrius loomed up before the magi. It almost took his breath away, he would never fail to be amazed at the sheer chance that he was swept up somewhere that would help him master his unique talents.

Cliff continued to run at unbelievable speeds, and before he knew it, the Auditorium loomed up before Theri. "Think we made it on time?" He flashed an excitable grin as the werewolf brought them into the building. It was large, and mostly empty. It seemed this class was smaller than it usually was, perhaps due to absences or students being sent off on errands, which wasn't too unusual.

High Wizard Traf was teaching this class, slightly eccentric, Theri found he really REALLY liked Traf. Something about the way the wizard would use magic for whole-sale chaos. Therion often found Traf acting out the thought he often had. That I have all this power and nothing to do with it. It's almost boring...

Therion got off Cliff, still holding his roommate's clothes as he went to report to High Wizard Traf, "Hey Traf, you're never going to believe what we found out in the Corelands. ORCS! A horde of Orcs ambushed us, and shortly after a Cyclops came crashing out of the woods. They've never been seen this close to the City before, some may worry about innocent bystanders, though I honestly couldn't care less if people too weak to defend themselves found themselves as such." The magi shrugged at the idea, it was the way of his world, after all. "Just thought you should know, maybe report to the Headmaster"

Cliff might have found the experience somewhat embarrassing, but...he did enjoy running fast like that. It felt exciting and exhilerating, to run on all fours in that huge, furry form, to make so much speed and progress in so little time, to feel the wind pounding against his body only to break and let him through. It was a fantastic feeling he loved. And before he knew it, they had reached the auditorium.

However, there was a slight issue with their actions. Mainly, Cliff was still in werewolf form, but Theri walked away with his clothes. All of them. And, they were in a public place. And he needed Theri to keep watch for him while he changed, cause otherwise people might come across him. Well, Theri also had all his clothes. And of course, Cliff could not just stay in werewolf form.

He also could not speak in werewolf form. Which meant...either he stood there, like a pet, until he used up all his strength and forcibly shifted back, or he shifted back right now, in the middle of the auditorium, and got his clothes now to get dressed. Also, it typically was not allowed for werewolves to stay in werewolf form during class, not even in gym most of the time since they wanted to have their normal bodies worked, so he had to change back anyways.

Eventually, Cliff took a deep breath....and in front of them, shifted back into a human and ran over to Theri with a red face. "Uhhh! Dont forget about me! Could I at least get my jacket and shorts right now?" He was litterally standing there, fully exposed, covering what he could. Incidentally, he had failed to transform all the way and his tail was out...but, that did not help much. "Please?! Theri, how could you forget such a thing!" Cliff litterally looked like he was about to break into tears.

Of course at that moment it was just Traf behind his massive desk. On its perch was an Owl, a typical barn owl named of all things, Kamakazi. Who of which looked like he had flown face first into one too many windows. In addition there were six other students in the class, none of which Traf could remember for the life of himself their names.

But that didnt matter, no, that didnt matter at all for Traf, on the desk it said in HUGE letters in some outlandish yet still readable script
TRAF UCHINI, HIGH WIZARD
Of course a lot of people joked that the High in High Wizard meant totally zorked on some kind of drug.

But that was not the case, no the case was simple, Traf was simply too dang gifted with magic for his own good, it was at the point wherein Theri had even figured it out, Traf had so much magical power and skill he was flat out bored and mostly did weird shit with his stiudents, the last class field trip though was seeing the world from the size and view of a sparrow; which meant finding a bird bath on campus was a problem

However it was the sudden BAM of the door of the classroom flinging open that startled even Kamakazi to to suddenly shriek "WHO, WHO, WHO GOES THERE...." before dive boming Theri had Cliff not hit the deck before transforming. Traf of course was startled in his game of Cats Cradle, his fingers all tied up in runes that stood in for string, sometimes Traf was.... crazy was not the right word

But qwith the BAM of the opening of the door startling him, Traf clapped his hands, the runes, electrical and gas, smacked together and suddenly went KABOOM all over his face, leaving his prestine white beard black with soot. Of course Traf simply said something of "Memo to self: Dont use the electrical runes next time when playing Cats Cradle though the fire runes eat the beard...."

He never even noticed that Cliff was naked as a jaybird, however if Kamakazi was a parrot he'd whistle to get everyones attention off Cliff, instead he slammed into the desk with all the grace of a Goney Bird. "Good morning Therion, can I..... I see....." Traf went quiet as Their expolained the finding of the Orcs outside the city. Traf nodded "Yes yes this will be interesting indeed. Hmmm" Flicking up his staf which doubled for a wand, a whacking stick, a walking stick, and a toothpick when the need arose Traf used the thing to scratch his back and all of a sudden he had pink swim trunks on with a very loud hawaiian style palm frond patterned shirt

"I think it will be a good lesson then to learn just how to defend oneself against these.... uh..." Traf suddenly was clueless as he looked to Theri, "What were these things again that you saw ?" He entirely missed the fact that he was to report the Orcs to the head honcho of the academy and if lucky keep his job

Therion looked back to his stark naked roommate with shock and realized he had forgotten to help Cliff get dressed. "I-u-um..." His entire face flushed hot as he tried to stammer an excuse. "T-T-Tra-I-Uh..." He trailed off dumbly, bowing and extending his arms completely straight forward, practically shoving the clothing into his friend's hands. "I'm so sorry! It completely slipped my mind! First my thoughts were racing with how impossibly soft you were! Then I fell asleep, and woke up all disoriented, and the fast! You're so fast! Plus T-Traf! You know how I LOVE combat class. I-I-I-I forgot..." He finished lamely, raising a wall of opalescent, but not at all translucent, ice around Cliff so that he may be afforded a little privacy.

Of course, Traf was more than a little eccentric, Theri barely even took note of the explosion and Traf's messy visage. He had learned to keep up various forms of shielding at all time when taking classes the High Wizard was in charge of. Kamikaze had a minor freak-out, really not nearly as bad as usual, before slamming itself face first into the truly MASSIVE desk. Therion briefly toyed with the idea of poly-morphing the Owl into a pigeon, but decided against it, he doubted Traf would mind but it had been a long enough day, and the magi was eager to start class.

The Wizard's casual use of powerful rune magic more than cemented the idea that he was someone to be careful around in Theri's mind. The magi let an impressed whistle loose from his pursed lips as he examined the detailed desk, and each unreasonably sized letter individually. "Looks like you've been keeping busy High Wizard Traf, my apologies that we are late, I take full responsibility." The High Wizard didn't miss a single step, and with a lazy back-scratch he was garbed in, G-Gym clothes? It looks like he's on vacation.

Without any further ado, Traf seemed to begin class, asking what they had met in the Corelands. Theri wasn't surprised he had forgotten already, and he just grinned like a mad-man while preparing himself. "Orcs! Sir, and a Cyclops. The Orcs were well-bred, some even capable of magic. Cliff might know more, he dealt with most of them." The boy shrugged again, eager to begin class and not really in the mood to think about the mindless green brutes he had gifted with a quick death.

As Cliff stood there, totally naked, with a red face and everyone looking at him, it seemed Theri finally realized what he had done. Unfortunately, it took him a bit before he realized what was going on and gave him his clothes. After that, Cliff quickly went and broke the record for fastest clothes changes in history, becoming dressed almost instantly....although, there were far too many people that had seen him now and would never forget it.

Incidentally, a werewolf tail and ears were still there, because Cliff's mental state was currently unstable. That was why his form was ultimately unstable, however it posed no issues with his clothes so he was able to cope with it. In the meantime, after snickering quite a bit at Cliff's situation, one student went to alert the headmaster to the situation after packing up all his belongings and....he totally used this as an excuse to skip class. Well, it was a reasonable excuse.

"After this, I want lunch. A really good lunch. Steak, hamburgers, really good filling stuff" Cliff said, having had to be fully exposed to everyone. It was...probably best to just bribe Cliff with meat. After all, and this was a bit convienent for Theri, Cliff did not tend to hold grudges, especially when provided with meat, which made him a lot more tolerable then most roommates. After all, if you did something to publicly embarrass other roommates, they might hold it against you for life, but with Cliff, you just had to fill his belly with meat and you would be in the clear.

"It was Orcs and a Cyclops" Cliff repeated, having gained up the strength and willpower to talk. "There was a single Cyclops, and a ton of Orcs. They were kind of dangerous, so me and Theri wiped them out whole scale".

If one got past the embarassing situation, the students were subtly reminded just there that Cliff had the ability to wipe them out wholescale....and that, them laughing at him earlier might not be good for their health or futures....as such, they promptly stopped thinking about what they say and pretended like it never happened.

"Oh yeah, they had this kind of tough orc, this orc that threw fireballs, and a few orcs that were weilding two swords....well, the ones with two swords sort of got an ice spike to the face, so I never confirmed how good they were with them" Cliff added, indicating Theri probably killed those.

By then of course Traf even had on running shoes, AKA sneakers, the bright red and white ones from some shoe company. He also magically formed a baseball cap, sunglasses, and a whistle. He truly looked the part of a coach. He held up his staff and his other hand, nodding "Ok yes, an Orc yes, Ok, here we go!" KAPOOF all of a sudden there was a two sword using Orc in the classroom with the most doumb look on its face as the multicolored smoke cleared.

Infact Traf wasnt even sure it WAS the Orcs face, for all itents the thing was so dang ugly as fuck Traf made a bet right then and there that the doctor that birthed the thing slapped its mother! Thankfully the Orc was suspended in time thanks to a rather hastey Time Rune it stood upon.

So the Orc just stood there dumbly like a statue, a living breathing, ugly as fuck statue as Traf stepped around it "This my dear students who may or may not be paying attention.... is an Orc...." At that point Traf, while walking behind the Orc had once again changed clothing, this time he wore a lab coat so bright white and pink tye dye it could be seen from a black hole perfectly clear too. Stepping into the front of the class he was sure he had everyones attention, he simply nodded and waved off Jeremy who said he needed to take a leak, "Why take a leak when you can take a rune ?" Traf once asked, he never got a answer, at least a straight faced one.

Using his staff as a pointer he spoke while pointing out various bits of the Orc "First off we have the head... then the shoulders, then the ribs, the roast, the beef, the arms, the legs, the filete du solie and then take note of the sickly green skin, I think he needs watering dont you ?"

The orc just stared dumbly as Traf did his demonstration of its 'features' He stared at Traf, at least it seemed to stare at the High Wizard, who by then was using his pointer stick like a lasrer pointer and was already driving a werecat member of the class batshit insane trying to catch it

"Any questions on how we are to defend ourselves against this..... critter ?" Traf then asked the class. Kamakazi settled upon one of the horns of the ORcs helmet.

The Orc stood dumbly in place

"I promise, I'll make sure you get more food than you can handle. Steak, ribs, you name it." Therion told his roommate apologetically before taking a seat on the floor, not too far from the front so he would have a good view of Traf's always entertaining lecture. I'd rather Cliff not sic a spirit wolf on me...

The High Wizard underwent another dubious outfit change, Theri wondered if he actually owned and bought all these clothes or if they were going missing from another's wardrobe. Making them entirely out of magic? The magi knew it certainly wasn't out of Traf's power to do so.

The Wizard conjured an Orc which literally caused Theri's jaw to drop; he tensed up and readied himself for action, this was a combat class after all, but the monster was as immobile as Traf's tenure. The teacher went on to define the monster as an Orc, and underwent another costume change. The Magi almost had to avert his eyes at the garish pink-white lab coat. It was then that the wizard began to point out it's physiology, almost like a butcher describing cuts of meat. It resembled a butcher so much so, that Theri couldn't contain himself and simply had to lean over to Cliff and whisper "Do werewolves eat Orc?"

Theri couldn't help but erupt into gales of laughter as the werecat tried and failed to catch the red dot that emanated from Traf's staff, much to the cat's chagrin. Traf asked his first real question of the lecture; well as real as the perpetually High Wizard could ask. Only shortly after arriving Therion had heard rumors that the wizard was constantly high out of his mind, and though they proved to be at least partially true, they had neglected to mention it was sheer magical power he was high on.

The magi's hand rocketed into the air, and without even waiting to be called to answer he replied "We force it to attend your class, it can't harm anyone if it's dead!" The boy almost couldn't control his laughter at this point, "Or, Or! If you turn him into a minnow and when you go to turn him back you accidentally turn a real minnow into the Orc!"

A tear crept down Theri's face as he howled with laughter; the latter suggestion had been an all too real experience, and remembering the way the minnow absolutely lost it's shit at being turned human would probably never not make Therion laugh. Indeed by then he was clutching his sides, and struggling not to simply roll on the floor while cackling like a hyena. Theri truly appreciated how memorable the material Traf taught was; even if it wasn't always immediately applicable.

Luckily the class was rather dark in the back and Calvance was able to use the shadows to teleport in unnoticed. He quickly took an open seat, doing his best to keep his wings tucked back so that they weren't in anyone's way, and caught the last part of the lecture as the wizard in the front of the class pointed out all the parts of the orc. Cal took notes and everything as he watched the wizard, and snickered as he watched the werecat loose her mind trying to catch the pointer. Finally, the wizard got to the point where he asked if anyone had any questions.

Cal, being an avid warrior, could think of only one thing to ask. Without even raising his hand, he spoke up.

"Yeah, I have a question. If someone were wielding, say a scythe, where would the best place be to strike it, if one wanted to deliver a death blow?" He asked with a tone of confidence to his voice that was enough to make others notice that he hadn't been there earlier.

Cliff, who had been making another attempt to dismiss the wolf ears and tail which normally were not a part of his human form but sometimes stuck around if he was flustered, or emotional, or just at random, also payed attention as best as he could to the class. Well, it was eccentric to be sure, and...wait, Theri just promised him meat.

At least Cliff was already dressed as well so it was not continueing. Well, in his rush, he just put on the jacket and shorts, but it covered enough of his body to be fine...though sometimes the jacket might start to slip off a little, it would only reveal his upper chest, which while might look boyish and meek on first glance, contained tough and well trained muscles. So that let him concentrate on Theri's words more.

HIs expression of embarrassment, contempt, and annoyance washed away almost instantly at that. Then again, this probably had to be something a roommate of his would be able to do. After all, it was only a matter of time before that scene happened again for them, and then again, and it probably happened a few times already as far as they knew. Werewolves were cursed with their transformations, not only causing people to distrust them and view them as beasts, but also for the inconvienence and embarrassment it caused.

However, it was made up for with incredibly strength, speed, and ability even while in their human forms. In their werewolf form, it got multiplied, and because of that Werewolves were something that people could admire in storybooks.

Cliff sat next to Theri while thinking about meat. "Yummy delicious steak. Yummy delicious ste....Orc meat?"

But was subsequently brought back to reality by Orc Meat. He looked back at Theri with a note. "Werewolves can eat a lot of stuff. Technically, anyone can eat Orc meat but...well, you probably want it prepared by a proper chef first. I mean, think about it. Its Orc Meat. You don't know where it was! A long time ago Werewolves might have eaten Orc meat as is, when the standards of living were lower, but now? Not unless it was absolutely necessary".

He said that while he looked at the Orc in question, including its size and two swords. Cliff gazed at it...and sniffed the air a little, before coming to a conclusion.

"I think that particular type of Orc is an Orc Berserker. Since, Berserkers are known to either dual wield swords or use huge, heavy weapons. I mean, it could be a normal Orc but...its really big for an Orc. Anyways, if I recall correctly, Orcs have tough thick skin, and aggressive personalities, so it is best to either go for the joints and vitals, like the neck, ankles, wrists, eyes, and such to fight them, or use magic at range...unless, you know, you have werewolf strength. Then you can just tear them apart. But with Berserkers...even then, still probably better to fight at range".

But as Theri said his answers, Cliff finally broke out into laughter.

"Are you sure Orcs can attend this class? A lot of the base ones are known to be stupid....oh, wait! They look like pigs right? We could take one in as a pet!"

It seems Theri hit Cliff's funnybone with his comments, so much that Cliff didnt register Cal sneaking in and asking a question at all.

As Traf continued his lesson the poor werecat, {named Linda} went totally berzerk and was currently close to dropping the only chandiler from the ceiling with her weight as she endless sought the red dot Traf had her going for. Traf himself paid more attention to the class as first Therion, then Cal, then finally Cliff asked their questions.

The first series of questions were from Therion. The young magi was a good student and got high marks from Traf mostly because he came out of the class more experienced on how NOT to make and care for runes most days. Traf was nodding at the first question, forcing the Orc to arttend a class, "yes yes, a ..... Wait no no" Traf seemed to come to his senses and shook his head. "This critter is simply here for demonstration purposes." He pointed out a few more areas of the orc, naming them the heel, the buttocks, and the not so funny bones before Therion's next question came in

Traf for a moment looked thoughtful, not noticing the crumbling bits of plaster raining down around him, dinking off the head of the Orc as Linda struggled to stay on the ceiling chaisng the red laser dot. Traf started nodding, "Turn an orc into a minnow then accidently turn a minnow into an orc ? Thats a possiblity we can work on later. At this moment this critter needs to learn some manners"

At that moment when Traf pointed the laser dot at the floor, or rather, Cliff's lap Linda let go of the ceiling and slammed down onto the werewolf with a sudden THUD

Traf of course went right to the next question as the Orc looked sick, well if one could say the green skin went pale with a cold flash as sicker than normal for a green skinned thing, then there was some upsides to this class. The next question was from Cal, a good student just like Therion. With heavy thinking the High Wizard nodded. "For demonstrational viewing I will show you." Conjuring out of nothing a farmers scyth Traf then went through the finer points of holding the oversized weedwhacker. Traf didnt even NOTICE whatsoever that Cal was a few minutes late. Half his class were either laughing at Linda and Cliff, some of which were singing before the two were critters glared them into quietness

The other half of the class was watching carefully as Traf demonstrated with the Orc the finer pooints of combat, in this case how not to get killed using such a massive weedwhacker. Finally Traf called Cal up to the front and handed him the sycth. SDince the orc was magically defended for the class it allowed the students first hand combat experience. At least until Traf brought out the cherry bombs and handgrenades. Traf was giving each student a chance wit the Orc of proper defense and attack movements.

The Orc grunted something at Traf who pointed the stick at the thing "You mind your manners" The stsick, still letting out the red laser dot, was all over the Orc, which then ended up flat on its back as poor Linda couldnt stop herself and darted for the shiny dot. Trampling the orc getting for the dot as Traf nodded at Linda turn was completed.

Finally Cliff asked his questions, the first of which was Orc Meat. Traf shook his head "No no, dont get any ideas, too much gristle, not enough meat." A snap of the fingers and the Orc was back on its feet, both swords in hand. "Take note as I said, of the green skin, the skin would only be this green if not well fed."

Again the question of since the orcs looks like pigs if it could be kept as a pet, the Orc looked upset at the mere thought but Traf was shaking his head, "No no, that wont do, this is a combat class after all not a butcher shop" Little did Traf recall that he did demonstrate how to chop up an orc like a butcher would.

With both Linda and Cal stnading next to him he allowed the two to return to their seats as he conjured the Orc away. "Now class, Have you ever uh.... considered being a squrriel ?" He asked nochalantly as he was once more dressed in his natural blue robes and pointed blue hat

Theri kept laughing, the class had almost dissolved into Chaos, the threat of High Wizard Traf's ire the only thing keeping most of the class politely paying attention. Traf's confusion, and Linda and Cliff's antics soon had the magi literally rolling on the floor laughing his proverbial ass off.

Normally Therion would have joined the class in practicing the finer points of offense and defense of Orcs, however he had had enough of Orc combat earlier that morning, and the boy figured it would take a stronghold of extremely well-bred Orcs to create an issue for him.

Thus Theri contented himself in laughing harder than he had all week, certainly partially at his roommate's expense, but he figured a few steaks would have Cliff more than forgive him. The teacher underwent another costume change and posed an odd question, well it would've been off had it not been Traf asking.

The question immediately sobered the magi up, as he was not keen on being turned into a squirrel, especially after Traf lost a student he had turned into a newt. Therion was pretty certain the newt student had been eaten by Kamikaze; not that the magi would ever report his favorite teacher. The flying rat, however, was another story altogether.

The boy double checked his shielding, adding another layer that should hopefully keep his form static, though in a magical arm-wrestling match between Theri and Traf, High Wizard Traf certainly one. Therion could only hope Traf was joking, which he doubted, or that he wouldn't concentrate on turning him into a squirrel.

The wizard often slung spells off without thinking, which made them just weak enough that Theri could usually repulse them. For good measure though, Theri decided to strike preemptively. With a flick of his wand, he threw a polymorph spell at Kamikaze to turn the owl into a squirrel. "Great question, Kamikaze, thoughts?"

Cal went back to his seat after the master wizard had demonstrated and helped him in the finer points of orc slaying. He didn't exactly like the scythe that the old man had conjured for him, but didn't want to be rude and point out that he had his own weapon that he preferred.

He took his seat again when the teacher asked about turning into a squirrel. With that there was a twitching and chirping growl sound that came from inside his backpack.

"Damn it Eddy, you were supposed to stay in the dorm, not sneak into my backpack." He whispered in a harsh tone to the bag. He unzipped it and pulled out a snow white ferret with beady black eyes who crawled up to his shoulder and started making cute sounds in his ear.

"No he's not going to turn you into a squirrel." Cal whispered right as he looked up just in time see another boy turn an owl into a squirrel.

"Back in the bag!" He said in a louder voice and the ferret ran down his leg back to the back pack.
