Battle Theme: https://soundcloud.com/vercerigo/vercer ... ttle-theme

Vercerigo has a very faint scar on his right cheek that nobody really tends to notice. Cause? Unknown, even to him. Small burn mark on his upper left arm. Has a black tattoo, “XIX”, on the back of his wrist. He recently got a scar that runs just above his eyebrow, drastically increasing his chances with the ladies.
Vercerigo is a fun-loving teenage boy who can’t remember where he came from, he just knows that he has strong ties to a secluded world called Trylite. He woke up in a world called Traverse Town, and learned the ropes of basic combat and magic from the local store owner, Cid, who has many secrets of his own… Vercerigo loves to write and read, and can often be found in the top branches of a tree, or on top of a building, trying to solve codes.
He has a strange, sometimes morbid, sense of humour, and likes to hang around in gloomy places, like cemeteries and crematoriums, just for the heck of it. He has a flair for the dramatic, and is very passionate about entrances and exits, usually analyzing the situation before deciding on how to make the best entrance. He can be socially awkward at times, but usually embraces it and makes it part of his ego. he is very adept at making people laugh. He enjoys standing on the proverbial ‘edge’, always getting in trouble for semi-legal activities.
He prefers to think of himself as a sort of Robin Hood, always saving people from the evil hand of villainous malefactor, although most of his adventures occur when he is daydreaming, which happens quite often. When he is actually trying to save someone or something, he either has no plan or his plan fails miserably. People see him as strange. He likes going to the Neon Star, a nightclub in Trylite City, as both himself and as Checker, a mysterious masked DJ. No one knows the connection except you, dear reader. He can be a bit of a prick when it comes to literary intelligence, as he considers himself a connoisseur of literature, and does not like being proven wrong. A sort of failed hero, with more defeats than successes. He loves to tell stories.
Amid the many rings on his fingers, Vercerigo has two very important rings, one on each finger. He has a silver ring-within-a-ring, and a simple black and silver ring with three holes in it.
His silver ring enables him to teleport to other planets, but has an enormous cooldown time, taking up whole days if the distance from point A to Point B was great enough. When he disappears/appears using that ring, there is a sudden small explosion of white smoke that quickly dissipates.
His silver and black ring with the three holes allows him to teleport up to three great distances without any physical or mental repercussions. Every time he teleports using that ring, one of the holes will disappear, till he has used up all three. If he goes past three, however, his mental and physical strength will be strained, no matter how far or short the distance. The most 'holeless' teleports he ever managed to accomplish was three, and upon the third one he collapsed, unconscious. When he disappears/appears, a small explosion of black smoke surrounds him and quickly dissipates.
Lately Vercerigo has been off traveling the known worlds, trying to save people and create an intelligent program that will talk to him when he’s lonely. He has lost all communications with his two friends, Desmos and Alice, and is trying to establish communication with them, helped by his half-finished program, that he simply calls Mango, for lack of a better name. (Side note: Mango hates her name, and frequently harrasses Vercerigo about it. Vercerigo doesn’t care, and just wishes she would stop nagging him.) He is currently practicing his teleportation skills, trying to become immune to his nausea when teleporting.

Vercerigo fights for light, using any power available, whether dark or light. Or both.

So begins...

The doors to the saloon creak open and Vercerigo slipped in. He looked around, noting with satisfaction the strange and wondrous people around him. He walked over to an unoccupied table near the...wolf(?) girl, military-type android, and-he strove to listen-Verror.
They appeared to be discussing the freakishness of Gambit's Bar. With a small chuckle, he knew that he had come to the right bar. As they talked, Vercerigo made note of their names: Verror, Emily...Jakob. He sighed and slumped down in his chair, absentmindedly playing with the many rings on his fingers. A waiter came up to him and looked at him expectantly. "Um, I'll have a..." He thought about it. "You know what? Surprise me, okay?" The waiter opened and then closed her mouth, and then nodded, walking off.
Vercerigo closed his eyes briefly, letting the atmosphere of the bar surround him. The Emily had just offered to buy Verror a drink. The beginning of a good friendship, perhaps? He remembered past encounters he had had. He didn't have a lot of friends, but he did know a lot of people, people from...everywhere.

Vercerigo stopped fiddling with his rings and tuned in to what the android was saying. He had never been to Terra before, and he could use all the information he could get. So Terra was a sort of melting pot of different cultures, races, and species. What sort of strange and interesting people would he meet? More importantly, what had the waitress made for him?

At long last the waitress returned with a tall glass of a dark golden liquid. She set it down in front of Vercerigo, and he smiled and nodded his thanks. She nodded back, and left to attend to other matters. He took a experimental sip, and was shocked at how cold it was. Setting it down, he blinked twice. He leaned back in his chair and looked over at Verror, who was still consoling the wolf girl, Emily. Still. He frowned and quietly stood up. He walked over to them. "Is everything ok?" He asked.

"I was security here once. But there was a change of management. Lot more hands on. I had trouble adjusting, so I quit. Also, it seems other people have this handled. I just wanted to get out of the sun before getting on my way, so I'll just have a cold drink of water, recharge my reserves of power before I go on my way once again. I gotta get up north before spring really kicks in."

The giant glacier sighed a bit. "Truth be told, I'm not from around here, but this planet has a location similar to my homeland that I go to when it gets too warm. Just being in room temperature is draining my ability to stay solid, so I can't stay long."

“Name’s Jakob, military android, retired,” Jakob introduced himself as he extended an armoured hand, “But not dismantled, lucky for me.” He then acknowledged the current state of the snow man’s relationship to the bar. “Well, don’t let me keep you, or if you do want to stay longer, there is the freezer in the back.”

The android returned to his guitar, was about to continue playing, and he commented with a grin, “Pretty expensive tastes you have there, High Priestess- You mind if I call you by your title, or would you prefer your name?”

Meanwhile, hidden deep in the woods, in the middle of eating a hotcake, Vercerigo stood, frozen, who had seen the whole exchange. He saw the girl 'pull' that gun toward her, away from the cop. She obviously had some sort of telekinesis power. The girl saved the officer, at her loss. He felt a bit guilty for not helping, although there was nothing he could've done, as he had been too far away. He had been hunting down a sort of strange entity when he had heard shouting. This drew him near until he had seen them. He watched the EMT's carry her off, no doubt heading toward the hospital. She had saved that officer.
Vercerigo snapped out of his daze and looked at the hotcake. This, and the entity, could wait.

Vercerigo walked into the library, his eyes widening as he saw the vast amounts of books on the shelves. A girl ran past him as he passed, almost shouldering him. That would have been a bit rude. He turned his attention back to the library, and nodded to the librarian. As he walked, he closed his eyes and ran his hand along the spines of a row of books that he passed. He loved the smell and atmosphere of libraries...they were his favourite place in the world.
As he ran his fingers along the books, his fingers brushed against one that was a little more pulled out than the rest. He stopped, opened his eyes, and turned his attention to the book. He gently tugged it out, and, blowing the dust off of it, read the title. "The Clockwork Three". He tilted his head and flipped to a random page. He read a couple lines and smiled. This was going to be a good book. He shut the book with one hand and looked around for a place to sit.

"I used to stay in there when I worked here. Manager got pissed off. Hence why I left." A few wet coins got hastily slapped down onto the bar counter. "Reasonable accommodations much. No reasoning with such a juvenile flesh-form. I gotta go before my magic runs out and I melt right in the freaking streets. Gotta get up north..."

And with that, his snowball tail pushed his immense mass started pushing him out the door. Not the best for getting anywhere in a hurry, but it was beneficial for the icy terrain of his homeland. Better than legs that had less surface area and tended to go slip-sliding all over the place. At his glacial pace, he couldn't afford to waste a second in the early spring heat.

Vercerigo materialized in the center of the arena, and also, unfortunately, in the middle of the fighting. He stuttered out, "Shield!" and immediately a shimmering semi-transparent dome of clockwork appeared around him. He ran to a spot that seemed, at the moment, to be out of danger. The shield followed him. There he got his bearings, and looked around.

"Hm. What an interesting creature. Bartender, you're still giving everyone their rounds, right? Whatever they want?" The High Priestess looked to the bartender, who gave a nod, and took a sip out of her first glass, before promptly pouring some more into the second glass and pushing it over to Jakob.

"An android?" She thought for a moment, the gears of wisdom and knowledge clicking somewhere within her brain.

"Oh, yes! I think I've heard of those. I must apologize. My world is very, very odd compared to this. We prefer an older-like lifestyle, with high technology not taking up every part of our daily life's. 'Cept for this," she tapped her wristlet, a nice computer-like object, "some of us have these." Florence said, smiling.

"It was very nice to meet you, Jakob. I hope we can stay in touch. I'm short for friends on this world, and I'd like to give you my card, if that's okay?" Florence pulled out a card holder made from the black ivory of a dark titan. She handed over a card with a steel blue background, and silver lettering. It was a very attractive card, made out of some sort of metal. If one cared much for witches, or the supernatural realm, they'd most likely recognize the names "Benoit Mystics", and the "Cult of Ceres the Wise" right below it (the Cult was secretive even here, however they were extremely well known, and many believed a conspiracy to be revolving around them. That is, if you cared much for witches anyways, but, with others, they took advantage of being in the background) as prominent names, even in this universe. You see, Ceres still needed to get everything put together, and this bar was hopefully the beginning of her mission to eliminate the woman that was her in this realm, but the actual extermination, and claiming of power and resources, would come later.

"So, do you have any advice on what to do in this city?" She inquired curiously.

Vercerigo was not the only person present as the bar suddenly grew more lively by the seconds. Behind the bar itself materialized a rather strange humanoid in a dark suit cleaning a glass.

"Welcome to The Rusty Dragon, Mars Corps. finest establishment, as for now I will be your host." The strange humanoid's voice seemed almost clear and as pure as crystal all the while it set the glass down and waved the young man over to the bars counter. "Would you care for a drink? If so I will need to see some identification."

Vercerigo dug in his pocket. Finding nothing but a ring, he put it on and checked his other pocket. His fingers brushed against his credentials and he pulled it out. He slumped down into one of the seats, finding it surprisingly comfortable as he slid his ID over to the bartender. "Here you go. I would very much care for a drink...a Snake Bite, if you don't mind."

The artificial Intelligence looked over the I.D. and quickly pulled out a pint and deftly mixed the drink as it was served. I part beer and the other cider. Atom 7K placed the drink before Vercerigo and offered the young man a nod.

"One Snakebite, served in a pint, mixed with lager straight from the taps and our finest cider. Do please enjoy and let me know if there is anything I can get for you."

Verror was about to say no but thanks to Emily's offer, when suddenly a giant snowman with a snake-like tail entered the room. "That's it," he said, "I've seen everything now."

At that point a young man joined the conversation, also out of concern.

"Everything's fine, I think."
he replied, "Just a bunch of jerks were picking on her or something. I'm Verror. What's your name?"

He wasn't remotely surprised when a huge minotaur entered the room, but that was because he'd actually seen and talked to minotaurs before, or at least some variety.

Emily looked up at the newcomer. She managed a weak smile, "yes." she said softly, it was almost a whisper, "I'm fine." she studied the the person slightly tilting her head to the left. he seemed decent enough, she noticed earlier that he was staring in her direction. probably at the person sitting with her. she blushed and looked away when she realised she was still staring at him. she suddenly felt like she was in an extremely awkward situation. the minotaur slammed a glass down on the table. Emily yelped, wincing in pain. Emily drew her head to the table and folded her ears forward. she let out a quiet canine-like wine, rocking herself back and forth. the noise from the glass hitting the table was painfully loud to her sensitive hearing. she heard ringing in her ears.

After a few minutes of agonizing pain the ringing slowly went away. she lifted her head and noticed both people staring at her with concern. "sorry", she said quietly, "sensitive hearing..."

"My designation is Atom 7K, Mars Corporations personal artificial intelligence." The A.I. offered a quick response while finding some other menial chore to take care off while its systems ran several diagnostics programs while its agents double checked background information throughout the establishment by artificial augmented reality.

"As for how long I've been working here the answer would depend on the amount of time the establishment has been opened." Atom 7K took up another glass and began cleaning it with its rag.

Vercerigo turned and glared at the source of the noise, and was a bit surprised when he saw that it was a large minotaur, but he kept his glare none the less. Sighing, he turned back to Emily and said, "Well, I'm glad those morons are gone now." Lowering his voice, he added, "Hopefully this bull is smart enough to leave you alone, as well." He offered a small half-smile.
Straightening, he turned and offered his hand to Verror. "My name is Vercerigo. Verse or Verc for short. I am completely new to this...part of town."

"here." she said then pulled out two small cards listing her number and email address for her photography, she handed both of them to Vercerigo and Verror, "the card itself isn't important." she said quickly, "the number is... well-" she said, leaning on her right leg, pushing her hip to the side. she gives them a coy smile, "if you guys ever wanted to contact me. just call." she then walked out towards the door, her tail swishing around behind her as she walks.

A deep rumbled escaped Damionell's throat as the tiny human boy spoke of his presence as if it were a nuisance. It never failed to irritate him that humans thought his hearing was anything less than sharp as a roc's talon.

"And why would it be wise of me to leave the female-thing alone, boy-thing? You think me to be some common bully?"

Damionell swiveled in his chair. His cleated hooves clomped loudly on the bar floor, and the heavy plate armor that adorned his hulking frame clinked and clanked faintly as his braided beard bounce against it. An immense maul was strapped to his back, simple and blunt.

"Do you wish to be proven right? Is that what you want?" the Minotaur said with a tone of finality, taking a measured pull on his fresh flagon.

He turned around and pocketed the card, facing the angry hybrid. "I am sorry I upset you, but you were being extremely loud. You should be a little bit more considerate of your surroundings, sir." “Advice on what to do, eh?” Jakob hummed for a second. The android twirled the newly received card between his fingers. “Well, I usually pay my tabs with reward money from the bounty board at Wing City Hall. The whole city is full of portals that lead to other places throughout the Multiverse.”

Jakob paused to take notice of a minotaur and a teenage boy facing off. “Heh… Speaking of violence… Ah, I shouldn’t assume.” Jakob tapped two metallic fingers on the counter as the bartender approached with a bottle of scotch. The bartender poured the glass half-full, just covering the never-melting ice the bar usually had equipped. “Bounties probably aren’t your thing though… I know there’s an arena as well, though I don’t frequent that place. Not a fighter.”
