Ver'ona Chroi

Description

Ver'ona is 5'11" tall, with long black hair that cascades down her back. She has bright blue eyes that seem to fade from a deep blue around the rim to a cornflower blue at the iris. She usually wears her hair in a thick braid down her back, or as many braids in an intricate updo when she is in the House of the Fallen. Her attire is generally heavy black and red armor with silver and gold trim. Outside of her armor, she wears black and purple kaftans and leggins with a long grey overcoat. When in the House of the Fallen, valkyries will allow their true form to be seen, fiery beings in heavy armor with broad feathered wings. However, crossing over to the living world hides their ethereal presence. Ver'rona ages slowly and although she will eventually die, she will never look older than about 40. She is slightly stronger than a normal human.

Personality

Ver'ona is quiet and somewhat reserved. She is very kind and loving to those that know her was the Jujitsu teacher. However in the line of duty, she is powerful and commanding.

Equipment

1 suit of heavy armor (fully clad) in black with red, silver and gold trim.
1 suit of light armor (helm, breastplate, gauntlets, shoulder plate on sword arm, battle kilt, light shin guards), in gold and blue.
1 ancient looking scythe (used with heavy armor), 6 feet long with a 2 foot blade.
1 sword (one handed, used with light armor) about 3 feet long.
1 horse named Oden, mythical steed with ability to cross the veil and withstand fire.
1 raven named Loki, mythical bird that serves as recon and messenger.

History

Although she has the appearance of being human, she is an ethereal being known as a valkyrie, a battle angel that ferries the souls of warriors to the House of the Fallen. She has the ability to pass between the living world and the realm of the dead, even though she is a living being herself. If killed, her soul would return to the House of the Fallen to be reborn as a valkyrie yet again. Valkyries tend to live among humans, always in places where warriors would tend to congregate, in armies, in hospitals or diplomats. Only when a warrior is about to meet his death would he see the woman in her true form, winged and in shining armor in the midst of flames. It is the valkyries who help to guide mortal men to fight the armies of darkness and evil on Earth. They will often spar off themselves against human looking demons in the endless war of heaven.

Ver'ona was born in the House with all the knowledge of the previous version of herself. As with all Valkyries, she has the gift of premonition for the fate of mortal warrior yet can not see her own path of destiny as decreed by the Fates. She is a capable fighter herself and is able to control fire. Through fire and flames, she can transport herself and collected charges to the House of the Fallen or communicate with other valkyries on Earth.
