Tapping in his selection, the tall and mysterious man decided today was the night for whiskey. What better a drink for thinking? He knew not, and went forth with his order. Looking around, Warren observed the usual bar-goers scene. It was trying, he decided sighing, leaning back hands clasped behind his silver haired skull.

Warren Aulare raised a brow as his glass of whiskey was set before him. People watching was one of his hobbies, but not his favorite one. He much preferred collecting. Raising the glass to his lips albeit slowly, he shot his gaze from one direction to the other. Commenting silently from behind a smirk, Warren decided it best to remain drinking his whiskey.

Warren Aulare glanced at his watch, where was she? The hag had best get here soon, he thought from behind the same smirk as before. She had best, if she knew what was good for her.

Warren Aulare raised his glass as eye contact was met with the man who looked his way. Before accepting a response, he downed the rest of the contents and slammed the glass to the table. Might as well.

Violet was wandering about the forest, on her usual routine of making sure her general area was safe. This included carrying a small leather bag which she filled with a few fruits for this day and the next, and maybe the day after. She was always very mindful of her impact on the surrounding area. After all, the last place running out of food was why she moved here.

She looked quite pleasant, despite her obvious woodsman nature, her hair straight and her form fit but a little lean, as if she had not been eating too well. Winter had been unkind. She wore light leather armour, the sort best used for travelling or hunting, and on her person was a knife and a bow, as well as a quiver of arrows. But really, the bow was just a precaution. She wasn't hunting right now.

Crumpling the parchment note that had attained his focus just moments ago, Warren frowned at the thick of wood. Was this really where he was supposed to be, searching for some artifact that had most certainly caught his fancy? According to the note, this was exactly where he had to be. Looking from left to right, he surveyed the area further. Hmm... No. A skeptical frown set itself upon his lips. He had obviously obtained a sour lead. Warren was busy darning the mysterious figure who had directed him this way on an exhale, when the familiar sound of soft footsteps floating into his ear. Or maybe not...
Straightening his posture, the white haired man aimed his chin in the direction of the sound. Who was there? Could it be his lead?

Unfortunately for Warren, Violet would not lead him anywhere. In fact, the moment she realised he was there (as she was a rather attentive individual), she immediately stopped in her footsteps, and stared for a moment. She quickly overcame her fleeting fears of strangers to offer a very polite and cultured, "Hello there," in a voice that implied some degree of training in pronounciation. "Are you lost?"

He blinked once in her direction, the woman who had appeared from seemingly nowhere. Flicking his eyes once over her frame, he evaluated. Sturdy, dangerous, beautiful...
The blank frown made way for a smile. Placing a hand to his chest, he bowed ever so slightly at the woman.
"Hello, Madame. Not so lost as potentially mislead," He finished the statement with an apologetic grin. Taking a step towards her, he gestured towards the woods. "I take it you know these trees well."

Violet gave a soft smile of amusement. A sort of 'How quaint' type smile. "Not as well as I would like. I am newer to this region than others, and sometimes the forest does seem to be all but the same. It is a wonder that some are so easily to recall the forest that they would never be lost at all!"

She let out a small laugh, accompanied with a blush as she approach. "Forgive me for rambling. I'm not often visited. I am Violet," she said, dropping into a curtsey.

He kept his marble eyes trained on hers as she spoke, taking in her every word. Warren had learned long ago that words revealed more than they appeared to at first hear.

Smiling on cue to her laugh, he noticed the fluster in her cheeks. Really, a lovely lady. Pity she didn't know these woods better.

"Warren," He gave his name in return, taking another step closer. With a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his mouth, he held out a hand as if offering to take hers.

"A pleasure to meet you Warren. What brings you to the forest, if I may know. But I do understand a man's business is his own." She spoke politely and calmly, though it was difficult to contain her enthusiasm at having a guest to speak to. She was admittedly lonely in the forest.

What a lady, Warren thought to himself as he tucked the hand behind his back. "I was directed here by an individual who was paid dearly to aid me in my quest," His smile grew wry, but not so as to put anyone off. "It would appear, however, I was lied to," At this his eyes seemed to flash red, but it happened so quick that it could have easily been missed. "You reside here, no?"

Violet ran a hand down her front, as if smoothing out her forever wrinkled clothing. "I live here, yes," she admitted with a humble tone. "As I have all my life." She returned with the question, "What do you seek on your quest? Perhaps I know of it, though... I find that would be too great a coincidence."

Trailing her hands with her eyes, he returned them to her face at her question. What did he seek? Why, it was quite simple. He sought an artifact, an Elven artifact to be exact. Smiling sly like a fox with a freshly pilfered egg, he took yet another step closer to Violet. Looking down into her eyes, he answered her question. "I seek the weapon sung from a tree, crafted by the elves themselves. I hear it was dropped here some time ago, as a result of a battle between two of such beings. Do you know of anything like what I speak of?"

"No," Violet said in a sorry tone, "I fear I know of no weapons nor elves in these parts. I have seen vampires, wolves, demons and angels, but not an elf has wandered this area. But I wish you luck all the same in your search." One of her hands idly moved to the handle of her knife. It was a non-threatening gesture, just an action of her not paying attention.

Clasping his hands before him, he smiled with forgiveness down unto Violet. He didn't expect her to know anything about it, as it was likely the man who he had originally spoken to on the subject knew as little as she. "Thank you," Warren spoke with sincerity, to the best of his sinning ability. He held up a finger, indicating her to wait just a moment. With the other hand, he dug into his coat pocket. Where was that...Ah! He fished out a gem, of the sparkly clear variety. It was a diamond 24.6 K to be exact and it was about the size of a raspberry. Blowing on it once to discard any pocket lint he motioned to pass it off to Violet.

Violet tilted her head thoughtfully, then smiled. "You're too trusting if you would offer a gem of that size to a stranger in the forest. Aren't you afraid I might steal it?" All the same she reached to claim the gem and hold it up to the light so she could examine it.

"Afraid?" Warren chuckled. How long had this woman been away from civilization?

"Consider it compensation for your help." He watched her examine the gem with a small smile.

Violet laughed at this point, offering the gem right back. "I haven't helped nor does it act as comphensation," she said simply, "I would much prefer meat, rope, salt, vinegar. Really, you owe me nothing."

He tucked his hands in his pockets, and looked her in the eye.

"Trade it for meat, rope, salt... Really, I have no use for it."

Frowning, he still made it apparent in his posture that he would not accept the gem back.

"Hold on to it," Warren said, "for it may come of use to you in the future."

If she were to look closely at the diamond, a small cloud of black smoke would puff inside of it, then diminish faster than one could blink.

He smiled with a twinkle in his eye,

"The gem is no burden." This was a promise.

Warren took a small bow,

"Likewise. If you ever need anything..." His eyes shot to her bag, where the gem was. With that, Warren smiled, and after a small wave continued on his way.
