Mediumship- Kasumi can communicate with dead and see ghosts. She has to focus or else she might become overwhelmed- don't worry, she's had lots of practice. The ghosts cannot stay long in this plane so she gets limited time to ask questions. She is very experienced in wording questions so she can get the most out of short time.
Demon Knives- Kasumi can summon and control up to fifteen knives at a time. She has next to no defense unless she uses the knives, and cannot kill anyone with the knives. It saps her energy as much as if she were fighting each opponent. However, she's invulnerable to any fatal wounds. The knives slowly sap the energy of the opponents and feed it to Kasumi. This is her most used power.
Longevity- Very simple, actually. Kasumi has extended natural life. She is able to be killed like normal. It's immortality in essence, but only for her age.

Romantic Interest
Yes... but it's my secret.

Character Opinions
I'm not comfortable controlling anyone. Others' opinions have enough of an impact on me already.

History

Kasumi has had a very turbulent life. She physically aged very quickly and her intelligence was vastly superior to most of the other children her age, mostly because she read a lot about magic. She discovered her magic early on, and often practiced out of sight. Her father was a White Mage and her mother was a doctor- magic-less, however. When they discovered she was a magic user, her father suspected she was a demon because of her sinister magic. He asked her mother and she denied, and he became very angry. Her father suspected that either she had cheated on him or was lying. They got in many fights and eventually Kasumi's mother left him and ran away. They learned shortly after that she had been slain by a demon and her father became very sullen and drank often. He abused her in his bouts of drunkenness and she eventually ran away as well.

She made a life for herself in a few cities north of her home, and many there viewed her as a demon as well. However, she got solitude and peace, and stayed there for around 800 years, bobbing in and out of disguises so nobody would suspect her real identity. After centuries, she eventually decided to move on and roamed the countryside. She built a small cottage and practiced the darker side of her magic. During her hermit lifestyle, she practiced all of her magical abilities and increased her magical knowledge by scrying through a ritual she discovered. She scryed a magical academy and watched the classes she was interested in.

After about 1,000 years she finally emerged from solitude to discover the world had changed. She was disappointed- no one she knew was alive anymore. In her misery she torched a few towns here and there. Fleetingly meeting a few demons, she discovered how much she had in common with the other race. She prefers the company of demons over humans. She ran around and caused enough trouble to be identified by the Survival Kit Academy and was taken in for misbehavior.

Now she wants to fit in but doesn't want to go back to being meek and helpless. Her demon partners are definitely in for a ride... (If Akumu can stay awake long enough...)

Other

She is able to create temporary homes for ghosts out of obsidian which is moldable by summoned spirits. The ghosts bound to the bodies have around a week to stay mobile and 'alive'. Kasumi uses them for menial work... and now, possibly homework...

Memphis

It was already late morning as a trail of thick smoke puffed quickly through the air along behind the tall figure that walked down the hallway in a rather hasty fashion. His name was Memphis, the newly appointed Headmaster of the Academy – a demon no less who has been put in charge of influencing the young minds of those he was suppose to help and guide in their time at the school. Quick steps echoed through the hall as he made his way to his office, a half-burnt out cigarette hanging over the side of his lower lip as he bit down hard and inhaled a deep breath.

Upon his arrival there had been a few changes put in place which caused some minor issues for the demon to deal with, such as new students arriving and the removal of old ones. Due to this the morning class had been delayed for a short time which allowed the students to wander the academy in the meantime, awaiting some form of structure to their day. However some may notice that some of their classmates were not around and the headmaster could only hope he explained things soon to avoid any unnecessary uprising amongst the youths.

"What a palaver." He sighed and dropped his shoulders, before nudging the door open and heading into his office, though only for a moment. The morning so far had been less than organized and the demon needed to get things on track – which meant getting the students to class and his colleagues in order, especially since he hadn’t met any of his staff yet though he assumed they had been made aware of his sudden arrival – somehow. He quickly made his way over to his desk – well it was his now though some of the prior headmasters belongings were still there – and accessed the academy’s intercom system.

"Attention students this is your new acting Headmaster. I realize this morning has been a bit chaotic but for now if you would, make your way to your designated classroom – that is an order. Mr. Kurayami, Mr. Akigawa and Miss Rayne, you are also wanted at class." Short but to the point. That was Memphis.

The intercom system was connected to every location within the academy, so all the students should have heard him and hopefully would begin to make their way to their classroom. Likewise his staff too. Turning the demon took his leave and exited the office, before making his way down to the classroom. With a shrug he continued on his way down the hallway, raising a hand as he ran it through his hair and unenthusiastically thought of how endless the day already felt. What was he suppose to do with these kids? What were they even like? The demon smirked a little as his curiosity grew and soon enough he arrived at the classroom and made his way in, opening and closing the door behind him as he took a seat at one of the desks. Swinging his legs up he rested the heel of his boots against the surface of the desk, leaning back in his chair as he crossed his arms against his chest. After all no one was about so he could make himself comfortable in the meantime, as he parted his lips slightly and let his burnt cigarette fall to the floor, before popping out another that quickly replaced the former and the demon inhaled deeply.

"Well, looks like the fun will begin soon enough." The demon yawned a little and stretched his legs. The teachers ought to arrive soon, and maybe even some students might arrive early! But he wouldn't hold his breath. "Maybe I should plan out exactly what we’re going to be doing for this class – or even what I’m going to say." He huffed, digging into one of his pockets as he brought out a crumpled piece of paper with his crude handwriting scribbled all over it. Looking over the notes he then reached over, grabbing a clipboard with names jotted down on it – presumably the students of the class, and began familiarizing himself with the names and information.

Cleo Gardenia

Image

Cleo was wide awake and already up and about the academy. Since their morning class had been delayed for a wee bit of time, the feline figured she’d grab something to snack on in the meantime until told otherwise. Whilst in the cafeteria the girl prowled around and looked at what was on offer, eyeing up all the goodies before settling on an apple and a packet of chocolaty-treats. After all breakfast was an important meal and the girl was set on not missing it!

“Maybe I should bring something for Buggie and Ichi." She pondered for a moment, snatching up some treats for the boys before stuffing them all into her pockets. Reaching over she swiped another packet of chocolates before walking away contently. As she was about to bite into her apple her ears perked up at that moment as an unfamiliar voice suddenly filled the air – the Headmaster, or rather new one. Did they get a new one already? Didn’t they just start? Cleo raised a questioning brow.

"Attention students this is your new acting Headmaster. I realize this morning has been a bit chaotic but for now if you would, make your way to your designated classroom – that is an order. Mr. Kurayami, Mr. Akigawa and Miss Rayne, you are also wanted at class." It said before falling silent.

Well, it looked like her free time had come to an end as the students were summoned to the classroom. With a shrug the feline bit into her apple before heading out of the cafeteria and began making her way to the room. On the way there the girl couldn’t help but wonder if everyone else got the message, and who would be first? A smile formed on her lips as she thought of her friends and teammates, and a general feeling of excitement filled her being at that moment.

A short time later the feline arrived at the classroom and made her way inside, dropping her eaten apple in the bin before taking her seat. Her eyes immediately fell onto the red-haired figure at the desk, who either hadn’t noticed her quite yet – or was just uninterested. The girl sat in silence for at least a minute before leaning forward on her desk and waving to the man that was busy looking over some notes, or something at least.

“Hi! I’m Cleo – are you the Headmaster guy that was speaking earlier?" She asked and titled her head, leaning back in her seat as she watched the figure carefully. However he never answered her question, actually he never really looked to the girl at all. Lowering her ears Cleo slumped her shoulders and focused her attention to the door to see who entered next.

Ruzik R.

Image

Ruzik was begrudgingly awake and moving himself around the academy after being informed that their morning class had been put on hold temporarily. He hadn’t really slept and was a little lost as to what to do with himself for the time being. His insides felt twisted and he could already feel his hunger creeping up on him slowly – the only good thing he was really feeling at that moment.

As he walked along he looked at all the students he passed, gradually wondering what exactly was going on that would cause such a delay in their academic schedule. Not that he was really complaining mind you, Ruzik wasn’t exactly the best student the academy had and really the more free time they got was welcomed – albeit he was a bit bored during it. Friends weren’t exactly his forte, he didn’t have many at this point in time, but of course he didn’t want any either! Did he?

As the red-head wandered down a hallway he heard a voice suddenly speak, tiling his gaze up to a speaker held up in one of the corners of the hall. "Attention students this is your new acting Headmaster. I realize this morning has been a bit chaotic but for now if you would, make your way to your designated classroom – that is an order. Mr. Kurayami, Mr. Akigawa and Miss Rayne, you are also wanted at class." So they had a new Headmaster? Ruzik thought briefly over this, smirking just a little. Did that mean he was free of those damn pills? Oh if only. The demon felt a slight twinge in his lower stomach and let out an uneasy sigh in response, as he straightened himself up and continued on his way. Surprisingly he opted to go to class; perhaps it would enlighten his boredom just a bit.

A short while later he arrive at the room and promptly entered, sparing a moment to look at the figure who sat slumped and puffing on a cigarette, though seemed to pay little attention to things around him. Unbothered, the demon then noticed the familiar cat-girl sitting looking in his direction and offered her a small smile. Sitting behind her, he place his elbows on the desk and leaned forward, before tapping her shoulder.

Cleo turned and faced the boy, ears twitching just a little. She remembered him from the day before and how he stormed off, somewhat crazily. Though hesitant to converse with him the girl decided she should make an effort at least. “Yeah?"

”Looks like we’re first to arrive, and your that cat-girl from the other day?” He asked, though knew he was fairly right in saying it. Cleo was hard to not remember after all, especially with her defining features.

“Uh-huh, and your that demon who stormed off all crazy like, eh?" She teased and playfully twitched her eyebrows. “lookie-here. If you don’t go all moody on me again I may just start to like yah." Sliding round in her seat she faced him directly and rested her arms on the edge of his desk, shifting forward as her ears lowered a rather amusing way. “Let’s start again? I’m Cleo, please to meet yah, Ruzik."

The redhead merely shrugged in a sort-of agreeing manner. Maybe he ought to make some friends, though either way the cat-girl wasn’t entirely bad and was pretty attractive, so it worked for him. ”Sure, alright. Nice to meet you Cleo.”

Smiling, the girl spun back around and moved down in her seat, leaning backwards as she rested the back of her head against his desk and looked up to the boy with an amusing grin. “So, who you betting turns up next?"

It seems that Kou still had quite a ways to go in order to learn to control her teleportation as last night she had sneezed while in the shower and had ended up in Ichiro, Cleo, and Bugby's dorm. Thankfully it had only been for a second or two before she managed to collect her wits and teleport back to her room so the casualties were limited but the whole ordeal had been very stressful for the rabbit and she had gone to sleep with pink hair. This morning when she awoke it had gone back to blue and for a few minutes Kou was able to hope it had all been a dream until she went into the bathroom and realized she had dropped her conditioner when she teleported so the bottle was now lost between a rift of space and time.

Hopefully it would reanimate itself somewhere, but when and where Kou had no idea. The demon tried not to stress over it as she rolled out of bed and onto the floor, pulling the covers along with her. Today was going to be a long day and she wasn't sure if she was ready to face the three whom she had thought of as friends before. Hopefully this would change nothing between them, maybe they would all just have a good laugh and move on? Or they could think of Kou as some weirdo and she would have lost the only friends she managed to make. Kou ran her fingers through her hair, her locks turning pink. She got dressed quickly and exited the dorm, hoping to Tsukuyomi or whatever other God that they hadn't seen anything and going to the cafeteria in hopes of making it to breakfast before their morning class.

The dining room was empty save for a few scattered souls who were using their free time to study in the corners of the large space. Kou looked at the the different foods on display and settled on some sort of breakfast wrap filled with vegetables and eggs. She sat alone by a window, nibbling on the edges of the tortilla and deciding that she wasn't hungry. She was about to leave when something caught her eye and quickly Kou stuffed two lollipops into the pockets of her dress, remembering how Ruzik had reacted to the sweets the day prior. An announcement protruded through the air, slicing through the silence like a knife.

"Attention students this is your new acting Headmaster. I realize this morning has been a bit chaotic but for now if you would, make your way to your designated classroom – that is an order. Mr. Kurayami, Mr. Akigawa and Miss Rayne, you are also wanted at class." So it was finally time? Kou picked up her pace, her heels clicking briskly on the tiled floor as she made her way to the classroom where her peers would be. Kou was prepared for the worst, once more her hair had returned to blue but she knew it wouldn't stay that way once she entered the space where the three were. Maybe she should skip class to avoid them? No, Kou did not want to be on the teacher's and new headmaster's bad side on the second day of school.

There were only two other students in the classroom when she entered, Cleo and Ruzik. The two were chatting pleasantly enough by the window and at the front of the room was a red haired male smoking a cigarette with his dirty boots up on the desk. He clearly couldn't be bothered by their presence and so Kou stepped into the classroom, wondering where she should sit or if she should use this opportunity to escape from the area and hide in the garden for the morning lessons.

She awoke with no memory, florescent lights blinded the girl, startling her emerald eyes and prompting them to hide behind her closed lids. She did not want to face the day, not when her mind was swimming with missing pieces and patches of things that she did not quite understand. For days Muse had been floating in this half dream state with nothing but a name to cling to. Whenever she attempted to think back to the events that had landed her in this tiny white room it came up as stark as the walls and a headache would split through her skull.

Muse lolled her head to the side, resting her horns against the shredded pillow she had torn up during a particularly bad night. Occasionally a mage or two would enter to replace the magical seal that prevented Muse from using her abilities but even if they took it off she had no idea how they worked or what they even were. Precautions in case she regained her memories, they would say and then walk out; leaving the demon in a state of weakness that would send her back into sleep. Sometimes she would awake to the scent of food but it was always false; no meals were to be had in this prison and once more Muse would go right back to sleep; waiting for the mages do decide her fate.

Today when she awoke there were three; one held a bag with a change of clothes, the other exchanged the talisman stuck on her back and the third held her down so the other two could do their jobs. Soon Muse was dressed and sitting up, which was a step above what she had done yesterday. Her torn black dress was placed in the waste bin and Muse was left alone for a few minutes to inspect the new garments. A pair of black shorts adorned her legs with tall buttons that went up to her waist. Above that was a white top, a slightly creamer shade then the walls and a black jacket that was a size too big. She observed her reflection in the mirror but began to grow perturbed; the longer Muse stared the more she hated the demon that looked back at her. A scream ripped from her throat and she lunged at it, punching her reflection. The three mages from before returned to the room, two pulling her back from the mirror as she attempted to rip out the guts of the demon that was in the glass. The third cleaned up the fragments and went to the first aid kit on the table, wrapping Muse's knuckles which she had injured and were leaking blood.

"Time to go," a fourth mage had appeared in the doorway and soon they were following him, Muse walking between the four of them with deliberately slow steps. She had no idea where they were headed, for all Muse knew it could be to her execution. Instead they led the female to a car where one of the mages showed her how to use the seat belt and they sent her off with the warning to behave. The sunlight burned the demons eyes and she hissed, closing them and looking down. There were three mages in the car, two in the front and one sitting beside her. The one to her left reached over and pulled the curtain up so that the sunlight could not bother her and relieved Muse managed to look up and stare out as they drove.

They soon pulled up to a large gate with foreign words written across the top. The car stopped and one of the mages led Muse inside, handing her a piece of paper with directions to a classroom. "You're to meet your instructor and classmates there."

"I don't understand... Why aren't you going to execute me?" Muse questioned, tilting her head to the side as a frown crept onto her lips. "The head mage of the UK branch has decided to take pity on you. He says that we cannot punish you for your actions since you have no recollection of them." Muse's frown deepened at these troubling words; it was true her memory was gone. But what would happen when it came back? "Run along now before he changes his mind. Stay out of trouble." Muse turned and walked through the entrance, looking down at the paper in her hands. She could not read this words, she recognized the characters but the way they were strung together made no sense. The frustration made the wings on her back flap a bit and she began walking aimlessly.

It took a while but eventually Muse figured out she had to go to the large building in the center of the campus. Hopefully she could find someone in it who knew where she was supposed to be.

A presence made itself aware behind her and Kou moved out of the way so that Bugby could get into the classroom. She managed to keep her hair from turning pink again as she once more recalled the incident from last night and was glad to see that he did not seem affected by it. "Oh hello Kou," the demon uttered in his devilishly adorable accent. "Morning," the rabbit responded cheerfully as if she had not a care in the world. ”Are you going to join us?” Kou was genuinely surprised by the offer and it showed on her face. ”I mean, you can sit with us if you want. Y-You don't have to I just, ah... you get the idea.”

She smiled, one of her ears flopping over into her face at the same time. "I would love to," Kou said and pushed it back up as Ruzik called out to her and gestured to the empty desk beside him. Rather then sitting in the place beside him she sat on Ruzik's desk, figuring they had a few more minutes until class began and teasing him would be much easier this way then awkwardly leaning over a table.

"Morning Cleo," Kou said to the feline and resisted the urge to pet the cat demon's head. Her ears twitched and it made Kou want to squeeze the girl, but she did not want to invade Cleo's space even though Cleo had made it clear that she didn't mind being pet. Kou knew that she herself did not like it when people randomly touched her ears and she would not do to others what she did not want done to herself (at least for now). It was then that the cat brought out a packet of chocolaty treats and offered some to the group. Ruzik refused of course with a look of disgust declaring that he did not eat such things.

She had noticed Ruzik's smug grin that he shot at Mikari and wondered what that was about. A rivalry perhaps? Or some sort of shared secret? Either way Kou did not particularly care because it wasn't any of her business what the teacher and incubus did outside of the classroom. If it was something scandalous not doubt she would have heard as the rumor mill in this school was worse then those celebrity tabloids at the supermarket. Kou noticed someone new sitting in the back of the room and that Etelka had strode over to him, her new mage perhaps? Oh she had yet to thank the other demon for fixing her dress!

Kou hopped off of Ruzik's desk and went over to Etelka who was no doubt going to act as though she were a servant to this mage. The poor demon could not seem to get through her head that they were teammates, they were not here to serve but to work together. She tapped Etelka's shoulder to draw the demon's attention and said"Thank you for fixing my dress," Kou gave a little spin so Etelka could see the full extent of her handiwork. "It's as good as new thanks to you."

It was then that Kou got a good look at the mage who was sitting down. The air of power he gave off was enticing and she made a note to keep an eye on this one as he could prove to be especially interesting. "Hello there," the rabbit gave a little wave before heading back to her spot on Ruzik's desk. Ichiro was saying something to Cleo and Bugby, he seemed to have no desire to sit next to them and went to join Liliane in the back. ”Do you think that mage really cares about you – a demon? No, he doesn’t. You’re just some demon he’s grouped with, and sure he may say he’s your friend and all, but who’s he sitting with at the end of the day? Not you.” Kou frowned she caught the tail end of Ruzik's statement. She had acquainted herself with Ichiro yesterday and he had seemed like a perfectly pleasant person as far as humans went although she didn't trust him. “Nah, Ichiro is totally not like that at all." Cleo replied although she seemed a bit distant as if her mind were occupied by other thoughts.

Kou looked down at Ruzik and realized he was in pain. "I brought this from the cafeteria," she said and quickly retrieved a lollipop from her pocket. "Want to try it?" Kou held the sweet under his nose, hoping he would take it.

Muse was incredibly frustrated by this whole ordeal, how dare those mages simply drop her off and expect her to know how to navigate this giant campus! She was ready to tear the paper up and burn the building to the ground and just as Muse was about to a woman appeared. "Excuse me." The female strode to where Muse was standing, she had large feathery wings and dark silky hair that bounced as she walked. Even from her position Muse could smell the putrid stench of cigarettes. "Couldn't help but notice you looked to be searching for something." Muse said nothing as the woman glanced at the paper in the demon's hands and nodded her head as if to confirm something. "It seems you and I are headed for the same destination. I am one of two of the instructors to the classes you are going to be attending. My name is Ms. Rayne. If you follow me I'll take you to where we need to be."

The demon was relieved, now she wouldn't have to burn the building to the ground. Not that she could with the talisman stuck to her back. "Um th-thank you," Muse replied awkwardly and followed the lady-Ms. Rayne she had called herself up a grand staircase and to a classroom that was bustling with students already. She felt lost in the sea of bodies and stood in the doorway, taking a step back.

Too crowded! Too many people! Panic filled her and Muse turned to attempt to leave but she was blocked by the tall figure of Ms. Rayne. Muse took two steps back, going further into the room and felt her wings flutter a bit as her nerves were set on edge, tightened like a coil about to pop.

How was she expected to work with all of these other students? Perhaps they were to kill each other? A last man standing type ordeal? No, the mages had told her she was not to kill anyone. If she did it would spell the end for Muse so unless ordered to she was not to harm anyone. But what if it was an accident? What if her horns cut into someone's flesh? Or something spooked her and she raked them with her claws? Too many hazards, too many risks. Were they expecting her to fail? Or perhaps this was all some sort of sick joke and they were going to execute Muse in the end anyways? She grit her teeth and rolled her hands into fists, nails biting into her palms. No, Muse was not going to fail. She would show that damn UK branch that she was determined to succeed!

Muse looked at the paper in her hands, the one she had crunched up when she balled them into fists and realized there were two more pictures on it besides the map of the school. The demon looked up from the image and to a girl sitting at the back of the class, realizing that they matched. Was this to be her teammate? There was a name written under it as well as a few other words, not that Muse could read them. She stuffed the paper into the pocket of her jacket and walked over, interrupting the conversation the female was having with a male who was clearly a mage; the amount of light rolling off of him was sickening and it made Muse want to vomit.

She focused her attention on the red head and wondered what the mask was for. Some sort of talisman? Or maybe it turned into a weapon? So many questions. "My name is Muse, your picture was on the paper they gave me." She retrieved the sheet from her pocket, wondering why she had put it there in the first place and showed it to the female. "I can't read this language so I don't know what to make of it. Are you perhaps my mage?"

"I brought this from the cafeteria," Ruzik heard Kou say and slowly raised his head to face the girl with a curious stare. In moment or so the rabbit held out a lollipop to the demon. "Want to try it?" The redhead was very surprised to see such a thing, since he had discovered that lollipops were quite nice, but how did she know? Or was it just luck? Regardless the demon accepted the lollipop and unwrapped it before popping it into his mouth.

”Thanks.” He said, before actually forming a slight smile. The redhead didn’t really know what else to do or say at that moment, he seemed just a little awkward as he looked away briefly, before quietly muttering, ”I’m… sorry for running away the other day.” Refocusing his stare onto the rabbit-girl, Ruzik tried to regain some form of composure as he adjusted himself in his seat. ”I mean, well it was hardly surprising anyway. You pissed me off, so yeah. Whatever.”

Casually grinning as he usually did, the demon leaned forward and rested one arm against the desk whilst sliding his other hand up and onto one of the girls thighs. Well, she was on his desk so he could hardly resist! With the lollipop still in his mouth the redhead playfully nudged it about with the tip of his tongue, before adjusting his arm and raising his other hand up and around the side of the girl’s waist. ”You look pretty sexy on that desk, you’re like the hottest girl in this room.” With a light pull, he scooped the girl up and slide her off the desk and onto his lap. His hand that was originally sat against her waist was now up and around her shoulders, whilst the other was still placed firmly on the side of her thigh. ”But you look more enticing up against me.”

From the corner of his eye he noticed another entering the classroom, as well as a teacher he assumed. Watching, the girl walked over to the mages and Ruzik could only assume all the bad things they were likely saying about him, but still, the horned girl was strangely alluring to him. Not that he was surprised, if anything it was just a natural reaction of his towards anything, really. He continued to look at the attractive female for a few seconds more before pulling his attention away and returning his focus onto Kou. A more smug grin filled his features just then, as he leaned closer to her and whispered, ”You know, if you really want to make me feel better we could ditch this class and go to my dorm. Get it off, then get it on, as they say.”

It was as if he was oblivious to the awkwardness of their relationship. Though Ruzik was very much aware of the confusion that lingered within him, however when it came to one thing then he’d prefer to not think of such emotions – they’d only ruin it. Without really thinking the demon lowered his hand from around her shoulders and brought it down towards her tail, as he began to run his fingers through it softly, as if stroking it. That tail was adorable. Ruzik also just wanted to see if he could get her hair to turn pink, or whatever other reaction would spring from the little rabbit on his lap.

Cleo let out a small giggle as Bugby tried to get her ears upright. For sure, whenever perked up it did signify the felines happiness, and in a way it was sweet of her teammate to try what he did. ”Cheer up, alright? He'll be back.” He said, and the girl only hoped he was right. In fact, she knew he was right – hopefully. Ichiro would hang with them when they had a group activity, surely? ”Go on, have some. You know you wanna?” Just then the green-haired boy offered her the chocolates that she had given him, and though not wanting to take all his treats, she did however accept a few to begin with. She noticed his efforts to comfort her, even his smile and voice were clearly an effort as Bugby wasn’t usually so, well, affectionate in a way.

Taking a few of the chocolates from the packet the girl ate one, holding the few others in her other hand. ”Thanks Buggie, I’ll try not to eat all the chocolates.” She laughed before cramming the last few she had into her mouth, swallowing them down moments after. Leaning over the feline rubbed the side of her head against his shoulder as a sign of her appreciation, a purr soon following as she twitched her ears contently. ”You know, we so gotta get Ichiro back. Maybe jump him in his sleep, or scare him, ha.” She said with a playful hint of evil, as it was all meant in good nature of course.

Pulling away she slumped in her seat, eyeing up the teachers for a moment, before eventually peering round in her chair as she looked to Ichiro again. The feline couldn’t help but want the mage to be at her side, and also wondered what she could do to gain his attention. It was then that she noticed Ruzik and Kou getting pretty comfortable with one another, and only then did a realization hit her that the cat-girl felt the need to get conformation on it. ”Oh my lordie Kou, is he your boyfriend?!” She asked in a half-whisper before moving fully round on her chair, especially noticing how the pair of demons was sat and the insinuations their closeness suggested. And, it would explain their mysterious meetings and how they went off together the other day.

Cleo herself had never had a boyfriend, but she knew the signs of how a couple acted and such. Raising a brow, she reached over and grabbed Bugby before spinning the boy round and holding him close to her. She was so caught up in her thoughts that she felt the need to share them with the closest person. ”Psst, Bugby. What do you think?” The feline questioned, pressing her face against his as she gave the boy a mischievous grin.

Memphis

Tilting his head, Memphis noticed a woman enter the room and promptly she approached him. "Hello, Headmaster. It is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Sarah Rayne. I hope we will get along in the future." She said and held out her hand, and after a few seconds of pondering it over, the demon soon raised his hand and held hers as they shook hands. Memphis wasn’t really the type for handshakes though he didn’t necessarily reject them either. They were too formal for his personal liking, but figured for the sake of getting off to a good stare he’d go along with it.

"Hello, Miss Rayne. It is good of you to join us, and I am sure we will get along perfectly fine." He replied before releasing her hand. "In case you are unaware yet, your group has been changed and you now have Hive and Muse though Liliane is still within your care. If you would, please take a seat with Mr. Kurayami and Mr. Akigawa. The class is just about to begin shortly." Having informed the woman the demon moved his attention towards the class and took a few steps towards them, as he stood in front of the rows of desks.

Raising a hand he slide two fingers up and caught his cigarette before removing it from his lips entirely, exhaling thick smoke whilst doing so. Clearing his throat he retained a rather emotionless expression, as he began to speak. "Alright everybody, take your seats and sit quietly. Class will be commencing shortly. You will be informed of what your exercise is for this morning though I must warn you it is an important assessment and you must act wisely." With that said, he felt it was interesting to give them a little hint of what their activity would be, though also keep them in a slight suspense. With a slight smirk on his lips, he returned his cigarette to the side of his mouth and inhaled contently.

Just realizing, the demon spun round and picked up a clipboard with the students names scribbled down it. Facing the students once more he continued, "Some of you may notice your groups are not the same, or some of your classmates are no longer here. The new groups are as such; Group 1 is Laurence Snow, Etelka Lantos and Dúyè. Group 2 is Liliane Auringer, Muse and Hive. Group 3 is Ichiro Ogura, Cleo Gardenia and Bugby Marshall. Lastly, Group 4 is Kasumi Toshiko, Ruzik Rosaline and Kou Usagi." With a confident nod he sat the clipboard back on the desk and added, "Your teachers are still the same however Group 1 will now have myself as their teacher - good luck." With all said for now the demon returned to perching himself on the side of the desk as he sat, awaiting the students to be ready as the class was soon to begin.

Kou was glad Ruzik had taken the lollipop, he had an adorable expression of surprise and delight on his face and Kou couldn't help but smile at how he seemed so innocent in that moment. "No problem," she shrugged and brushed a strand of hair from her face. ”I’m… sorry for running away the other day.” The rabbit was surprised by his apology, Kou had nearly forgotten about the events of the previous day and how he freaked out due to his hunger and her trying to make him take the pills. ”I mean, well it was hardly surprising anyway. You pissed me off, so yeah. Whatever.”

"Yeah, well it's not like it's the first time you've done that." Kou replied with a shrug, "And I hardly doubt it'll be the last." He placed his hand on her thigh then, a move Kou had been expecting. She was surprised he hadn't done it sooner to be honest. ”You look pretty sexy on that desk, you’re like the hottest girl in this room.” A giggle erupted from within her that she couldn't help but release at that ridiculous comment. Ruzik suddenly slid Kou off of the desk and she yelped as she landed in his lap. Kou quickly pulled down her dress to ensure that no one could see her panties. ”But you look more enticing up against me.”

"R-Ruzik," Kou stuttered, unsure of what to say. She noticed his attention flutter towards a new comer, a girl with black hair and horns. The female was clearly the embodiment of the word demon and she could tell that Ruzik was going to try something on her. It hardly came as a surprise as Ruzik would try to lay with anything that had a pulse. Cleo asked her a question then, seemingly just noticing that Kou was on Ruzik's lap. "Something like that, yeah." The rabbit replied with a smile as Ruzik turned his attention back to her. ”You know, if you really want to make me feel better we could ditch this class and go to my dorm. Get it off, then get it on, as they say.”

Kou placed her hands on his chest and leaned forward to whisper in his ears, "If you're a good boy during class I'll give you a treat later." She leaned back so that she was sitting up again and winked. He removed his hands from her shoulders and began stroking her tail, a move that made her cheeks-and hair turn bright pink. Unlike touching her ears, touching Kou's tail brought her an inexplicable amount of pleasure. Not the sexual kind though, a sort of comforting kind like when you scratched the ears of a dog.

It was unfair that Ruzik knew all the right buttons to push but she hardly knew any of his. Besides lollipops, sex, and hearts Kou really didn't know what else the incubus liked. The Headmaster suddenly stood up and told them to take their seats. Kou couldn't move though as Ruzik sort of had a hold on her. When he announced their groups her ears stood upright in attention, "We're in the same group!" She turned in Ruzik's lap to face the demon. Did that mean they were going to share a dorm too? Kou didn't mind moving as she hadn't unpacked her things anyways and who was this Kasumi girl that was supposedly their new mage? And Mikari was their teacher? She looked over at the dark mage who seemed to be paying them no mind.

Muse was relieved that she had been correct, otherwise that could have been quite embarrassing. "Liliane," the demon tried the name out on her tongue, the characters tasting foreign. "Ichiro," The mage pointed to the desk in front of her and told Muse to sit and so the demon sat, not wanting to stand in the isle awkwardly. Muse folded her hands in her lap and her wings on her back to give herself room in the chair. She turned though so that she could face Liliane and the male called Ichiro. Muse noticed quite a few people staring at her and she felt oddly self conscious.

"I'd advise you keep away from the red haired demon over there, with the glasses. He is a negative influence in just about every way possible. He may approach you because of your attractive looks. I suggest not being polite in the way you reject him so he will understand you are not interested." Muse faced forward to look at the red head, an Incubus that was staring back at her. She blinked and turned away, unsure of why he was looking at her like that. Was there something stuck in her horns? She reached up to inspect, but could feel nothing. Occasionally a stray piece of dirt would stick to them; last night she had gotten it tangled in her pillowcase and had shredded the fabric to pieces. "I will be sure to stay away from him," Muse lied.

Although the order came from the mage Muse's curiosity had been piqued. Were the two enemies? If so then Muse would stay away but she wanted to at least acquaint herself with all of the other demons in the class first so she would know which ones were powerful and which ones were a potential threat. If any of them were as apt to killing as Muse was then there were certainly going to be a few fights. Muse would have to be sure to stay out of those. It was then she realized that Liliane had said something else and Muse blinked in surprise.

"You think I'm attractive?" Muse had never thought of herself in that way. She had once had a mage that had abused her body for his pleasure but he had always said he was doing it in the name of research, not because he had found her to be... pretty. In truth Muse was uncomfortable with the thought that someone could find her attractive.

"So, Muse, please tell us about yourself. Where you come from and what power you bring with you." Liliane's voice interrupted her thoughts and Muse looked up at the mage once more. "I originate from London but my last home was on the outskirts of Germany," that was what the mages had told her at least. "I have no memory so I can't really tell you my abilities because I don't know them myself." It was a fact that frustrated Muse to no end. How was she supposed to be of any use to the mage if she couldn't wield her powers? "I also have a talisman stuck to me so I can't use them even if I wanted to." At least not until it was removed.

K's eyes snapped open. The crimson irises flickered with light and her pupils dilated to match the light level. She blinked once, her ears straining to catch the faint announcement ringing out across the campus. A new Headmaster- had she been out that long? Standing and brushing bits of dirt off her clothes, she made her way down the hallways. She tracked down the classroom quite easily, and as she entered she analyzed the students sitting there already.

Slipping to the back quietly, she sat just as the man at the front began to call out groups. She rolled her crimson eyes as he stated that she would be paired with Kou and Ruzik. She'd be the third wheel. That was fine by K, though. They could go gallivanting off into the sunset and she wouldn't care. Well, maybe a little.

She snapped back to focus as the man finished. The students seemed to be chattering amongst themselves. She didn't really have any friends out of this crowd, so she stayed back. It would take her decades to start to trust any of these people.

She swept her gaze around the room, looking for unfamiliar faces. She saw a new redhead- they were up to three now, she thought. A new Headmaster and...

She caught sight of a boy with dark curly hair. He looked interesting- K cut off the thought. She didn't surprise herself much anymore, but that certainly did it. Shaking her head, she decided to try and talk to him after class.

Leaning back in her chair, she drifted off before class began.

Listening to Liliane's warning, to stay away from the red haired Demon, seemed well deserved, Ichiro would have warned his own group, but it seemed to late. Though by watching his actions Ichiro could tell a simple rejection would fail to stop him from making further advances. As Liliane brought up attractiveness Ichiro took a few glances noticing she was quite attractive. He hadn't really bothered to look to much into it, but now that Liliane brought it up it seemed obvious. Quickly glancing around the room it seemed almost all the girls were gorgeous.

Ichiro propped his arm up on the desk placing his chin in the palm of his hand listening to the two's conversation. Just as Muse asked if she was attractive in a slightly confused or curious way Ichiro responded without thinking. "I would say ya." Blinking a few times before realizing he said that out loud instead of in his head. "Though of course you shouldn't just judge a person on appearances alone." Saying with a hesitant laugh just hoping he hadn't made Liliane think worse of him then she must already think. After yesterday he was surprised she even spoke to him today and he only hoped he hadn't made it worse by coming off as that kind of guy.

Muse starting talking about herself and it made Ichiro ponder the question of what it must be like to have no memories. Would the loss of ones memories change their personality as a whole? The idea was fairly interesting, but it must be quite frustrating. "You know the headmaster, or even one of the teachers may be able to remove that talisman so that you can take part in the assignment we are about to get without having a heavy restriction? Though it's just an idea." Saying while looking her up and down wondering why a seal would be placed on her, was she that powerful? The idea kind of excited him, just begging him to find out the mystery behind the girl. He had been waiting for something fun to finally show itself and maybe she would provide that fun. "You must be pretty strong though for them to be that scared of you huh." He said inquisitive like.

For now it was at least nice getting to know the rest of the class. Still taking a look back at his group he saw the red haired Demon just flirting about with Kou and Cleo getting pretty close with Bugby as well. He wouldn't be surprised if the Demon was already trying to spread about his bad influence upon everyone else. Ichiro starting to get a little jittery just wondering what the assignment could be. "Maybe it's a capture the flag, or scavenger hunt where combat plays a factor. Or maybe it's a team battle type game where you have to beat others to gain points. Ugh, I can't wait." He said to himself while he started tapping his foot as the excitement built up.

As the two Dark Mages sat and observe the classroom quietly, they found it quite interesting to see all of the students are seemingly getting along, at least to a certain degree. Obviously that a few Demons here aren't very fond of the Mages, and some of the Mages are not either towards the Demons, but they only needed to sit back and see how things are going to develop in the meantime. They've done their own jobs well so far and there are no reasons for them not to keep up the good paces. Though a part of them still curious about how things will change with this new Headmaster.

The demon walked around and sat on the edge of the desk before gaining both of their attention. Crossing his arms he leaned in a little closer to them and said, "My master has spoken of you two though I only know you by name. My knowledge of yourselves goes no further than that." He said. Midora turned to face with Memphis as he raised an eyebrow then replied.

"Both of us used to be his students when we're young. He acted like a father to us and he has taught us a lot of things, which is why we had high respects for him. I was a bit surprised when I found out that he is not going to be the new Headmaster, but taken into account of his age right now, despite him being one of a few Mages that I could considered as wise and powerful, I guess it couldn't be helped. But we believe in his decision for making you the Headmaster on his behalf and since you were personally raised by him, we will trust your abilities and hopefully you will be able to make a difference, in a positive way." Midora spoke calmly.

"I too wish for us to work well together, and I assume that you know by now that I am a demon and not a mage?" Memphis continued. "Well, I've actually never worked under a Demon before." Mikari shrugged, "But hey, I've always looking up to Hirukawa-sensei, so I guess we should be able to get along so that we can kick those misfits in shapes." He gave a light-hearted smile, "And yeah, of course we've known that you're a Demon. Dora-chin said that you were actually the first Demon Headmaster ever so I figured that things are gonna change a bit from now, hmm? Anyway, pleasure to work with you, boss."

Leaning back Memphis let a thick puff of smoke escape the side of his mouth before turning to face the students who sat in front of him. Midora doesn't like smoking and either Mikari, but everyone's gotta has some habits and it doesn't really bothering them so they have no comments on that subject. "As you may be aware there are some changes made to the groups. Mr. Kurayami your group is still the same, though Mr. Akigawa instead of Hive you now have Kou, the rabbit demon. I expect you both to keep your students under control and out of trouble, for their own sakes. So far I am being lenient but once this class officially begins I will not tolerate it." Memphis added.

Midora looked on at the students before replying with his usual calm voice and blank expression, yet his aura has became somewhat more intimidating than earlier, "Mercy is not a word in my dictionary. So rest assure, if they did anything that breaks the rules..." Then he turned to Memphis, his irises turned into crimson red as his expression turned somewhat menacing, "...I can make them go through the worst nightmares of their lives if you think it is necessary to do so."

Then he turned away, fixed his gaze back to the students again, "It seems that your master has taught you everything that you should know. However, since you're new with this job, and I think you hasn't knew a lot about this Academy yet, feel free to ask. I could even be an assistant of some sorts for you, if you want. I think that most of the students have assembled so you should prepare to start soon." Midora spoke, his tone and expression has returned to their normal calmness in only seconds, "And... I guess that you can address us by our first name, if you want. If we're going to work together then I'm not really asking it to be too formal."

With that said, Midora leaned on his back, waited for their sessions to begin. A few moments later, Ms. Sarah came in, which Midora gave her a brisk nod as a greeting while Mikari smiled brightly. She greeted Memphis and both of them shook hands before she took her seat next to the both of them.

Mikari sat as he tapped his foot on the ground, waiting until all of the students have arrived. He sighed, there's nothing could be more boring than having to wait and doing nothing, but he guesses that it couldn't be helped. He took a quick glance at each members of his group. He hasn't got a chance to help Kasumi with her little curse, but he knows that he should before she went out of control again. Maybe the newly arrival nurse that has arrived could help. What was her name again? Julie? He sheepishly thought but just shrugged it off. He shouldn't worry about it too much for now as Kasumi could control it to a certain degree by now.

Then it comes to Kou and Ruzik. Mikari raised an eyebrow at the rabbit girl. He heard that she used Tsukuyomi's pet or somethings like that. Well, most Demons have association with deities can be somewhat troubling. He was curious to see how she's like that made even the omnipotent God of the Moon having a headache like that. Though, the rabbit demon seemed to have some sort of relationship with the red-headed Incubus before. Mikari smirked, it would be interesting to see how she would react if she ever saw him flirting with Ruzik. But then he shrugged away his thought. He could be clingy and carefree at times, but he never intended to broke someone's happiness.

After a while of waiting, Mikari yawns. When will we truly have some actions? Then turned to Midora. Well, perhaps he should just bothering his best friend for now to kill time. He knows he should be somewhat privileged being able to tease with one of the Mages that were considered powerful of his kin. Most people were scared off by the intimidating darkness that is always emits from Midora anyway so Mikari was really the only one who is able to be that close to him. Besides, most of the other people are still busy with their own conversations so he guesses that they wouldn't pay any attention towards the two of them.

"Say, Dora-chin." Mikari said as he pulled himself and his chair closer to Midora's.

"What? Got nothing to do?" Midora replied coldly.

"Aww, don't be such a meanie-face like that all the time. You scared people off." Mikari grinned playfully as he clung his arm over Midora's shoulders. Mikari leaned closer and took a sniff at his friend then smirked at what he has just found out. "Ooh, someone's using cologne today, that's new."

Midora sighed, "I was just simply wanted to try something new, I figure that I should be a bit like what they would called... well, gentleman-alike, since today we got a new Headmaster. Are you getting any ideas?"

"Of course I don't, I don't want to die young~" Mikari grinned, "But it's okay. You don't have to deny, you love me so much that you just couldn't ran off with anyone, huh?"

"O' the great God of Darkness, please give your blessing to anyone who Mikari Akigawa has his eyes on." Midora said sarcastically, "Have you forgot the long list of "lovers" that you've had so far? If I remember correctly, most of the time it were they who broke up. I guess that you really are a love sucker."

Mikari pouted as he poked his best friend's cheek, "Alright, I know. You don't have to bring that up again." But then, he smirked, "Oh well, I there are anyone who was so obsessive with the person they loved that they have to do THOSE stuffs anytime when they're alone..."

Hearing those words, Midora blushed like crazy, "W-What do you mean?"

"I didn't mean anything." Mikari shrugged, "I was just saying that regarding to someone who was moaning Nagisa-sensei's name in such a sexy intonation last night, that's all. It seemed that person was having quite a fantasy himself in his own dream." He said quietly, as if he was whispered so that only the two of them could hear with a smirk.

Midora was speechless as he sat still and flustered. When it comes to this subject, even if it was with his best friend, he couldn't hide his anxiety. You could considered this as a weak-point inside his heart, but so far, only Mikari knew about this though. Mikari smiled whole-hearted, "Well, no worry. Your little secret is safe with me. But you must admit that for someone who is always so cold like a cucumber such as you, that was really surprising. A powerful and almighty Dark Mage of the era lusting towards his long lost lover~" Mikari teased.

"Would you stop saying that?!" Midora yelled, he was a bit irritated by now but he still felt embarrassing. If it was someone else rather than Mikari, he didn't know whether if they could see the light of the next day. "Geez... You are really annoying at times, you know that?"

"Hehe, sorry." Mikari smiled and apologized as he scratches the back of his head. Okay, he admits that sometime he could be a little too carefree. Midora just gave a 'Tch' then turned away, but Mikari can still felt his flustering. He smiles, it puts his heart at ease to know that despite going through with so many hardships, facing so many burdens, his friend is still having some soft spots in his heart. He knows that deep down inside the cold and stoic shell outside, Midora is somewhat emotionally fragile. Anytime he saw Midora burst out with tears when he was reminded of what happened to his lover, Mikari felt that he needed to be the one to encourage his friend and went through the hardships together, always.

Mikari smiles brightly, "You've been enduring that pain by yourself for so long, Dora-chin. Don't you think that it is better to just move on? I'm sure that he wants you to be happy, too."

Midora kept silent for a bit, then quietly replied, "I don't know what I should do either... It just... I've tried, you know? But it just didn't feel right when it wasn't him. I know he wants me to be happy but... I love him so much that I could've died for it." He sighed as he looked on, with a light smile, "Love sure is a crazy thing, isn't it?"

"I know, right?" Mikari said, still with his smile, "But I'm sure that no matter whatever decisions you made, you will be happy for it. I will always be there for you."

"Thanks, Mii." Midora turned to his friend and said with a light smile. Yeah, his friend could be irritating at times, but Midora knows that he can believe in him, no matter what. Both of them chatting with each other a little bit more and prepare for the morning's session when Memphis made his announce to the students.

Bugby sighed as he felt Cleo pulling him round to look at the redhead and rabbit together. Really the demon preferred to not watch people, at least not so obviously and as close as they were. ”I think we should mind our own business.” He quietly replied to her question, before pushing her shoulder and forcing the girl to turn back around and face the front, and smirked, ”You should be focusing on your own little love dramas.”

Not long after the Headmaster spoke up and informed the class that their session would be beginning soon. With a sigh, the demon wasn’t entirely looking forward to the assessment. Considering what they had done yesterday, Bugby wasn’t overly thrilled at the thought of having to face some monster again. But what else would the teachers have them do? Not to mention, what was the demon even good at? Bugby couldn't even begin to think of what their 'important' assessment could be. After the man had finished and returned to sitting against his desk, the boy leaned back in his seat and focused his gaze ahead of him as he watched the teachers for a short time.

The only good thing was that Midora was not Headmaster now, it was a slight relief in a way. Though he still wasn’t enthusiastic of having a mage watching over him, again. His bored expression was ever present as he seemingly sulked and sat still in his chair for some time longer, taking a moment to casually look around the room and study the unfamiliar faces that were now present in the classroom. There was at least one new mage he concluded, as well as one or two new demons to boot. A minute or so later, the demon leaned forward and rested his arms onto his desk as he laid his head against them. His foot annoyingly tapping against the floor beneath him.

”This ought to be fun.” He sighed before raising his stare just a little above his arms. He knew the session would being any moment, so he’d just wait the last few minutes out. Turning a little towards Cleo's direction, he rested his chin against his arm. ”Guess you've cheered up then?”

Laurence Snow

Laurence listened to both of his demons, and despite one appearing to be not that talkative and the other somewhat intimidating, the boy couldn’t help but smile and come across as unaffected by it all. So far things had gone not too badly which was good, at least. When Dúyè smirked and looked to Etelka, saying something about how she’d like to get along with the other demon, the young mage couldn’t have been happier. As it to him it meant that his demons were going to get along, and anything more just went way over his head.

”Haha, yeah. That is a bit hard to pronounce. I think I’ll stick with Venom!” He laughed a little sheepishly before looking to Etelka. ”Well in that case, I guess I’ll just call you Etelka then.” Smiling, he fidgeting a little in his seat before noticing another student enter the room. It was a girl with black hair who made her way to the back of the room and sat nearby. Offering a friendly wave when she looked to him, Laurence tried to appear welcoming before returning his gaze to the front of the classroom.

The Headmaster addressed the class just then, causing the boy to take note of little snippets of information. He would’ve written them down but he didn’t have any paper to write on, instead opting to just remember what he could. Once the red-haired man was finished the young mage couldn’t help but feel a little nervous afterwards, feeling a bit uneasy towards the exercise that was to come. Especially since the man had said it was important and they needed to act wisely, such things Laurence didn’t find particularly reassuring.

”I-I hope I don’t mess up terribly, it’s only my first day after all.” He sighed quietly and nervously tapped his fingers against the desk. ”Maybe I’m worrying too much.” The boy turned around at that moment and looked to his two demons, as they oddly enough gave him a sense of ease. Maybe it was because they seemed just a bit older, and were girls. Females were always more comforting he found, despite how his demons appeared. ”Alright guys, or I should say girls! Or ladies. Ah, let’s just do our best.” He said in a bid to raise a bit of team morale.

Turning back around he faced the front as the class was soon to begin. With a deep breath he calmed himself and tried not to think of their daunting assessment. He also took the chance to look around the class and see the other students who had arrived. All the demons looked so diverse and intriguing, and ever so slightly intimidating. But perhaps everyone was friendly enough, he hoped. The mages too tickled his interest and he hoped to get to know everyone better.

Memphis

Memphis had listened to the two mage teachers and was a little surprised by how highly they held his master in their thoughts. So the old mage had taught them? Clearly is master was more than he originally thought – though his master was merely just that, his master. A father perhaps as the mage did summon him at an early age and has shaped the demon over the many years. Did that make Memphis his child? The demon surprisingly hadn’t thought much over the concept, and maybe in a way he did love the mage but the fire-y demon wasn’t one to admit such emotions so openly. But still, it was rather nice discovering more of his master whilst residing at the academy. Maybe he’d learn more.

Midora then said something that peeked his attention, to which the demon responded later with, "True, I do not know much of this academy and its ways – an assistant would prove useful. If you’re up to the challenge then consider yourself promoted," He grinned a little towards the mage before concluding. "It may take some time for me to refer to you by your first names. My master taught me to always address others by their surname – he guessed it would make me seem more polite. But anyway, Mr. Kurayami and Mr. Akigawa, that is another thing for another day.”

With that said it was time for class to begin. Turning round and facing the class once more the demon looked over the students quietly for a moment, before raising his hands and clapping twice to catch everyone’s attention. Once all students were facing him Memphis began, shifting up from his desk as he stood up straight.

"Class has finally commenced so all talking shall now cease – or I will kick the crap and so much more out of anyone who dares speak over me," He spoke in a slightly threatening tone, before pausing for a single moment to ensure silence was achieved before continuing, "My name is Memphis and I am your new appointed Headmaster. Some of you may be aware, but for those who do not know I am a demon. Whether this bothers you or not I do not care – you will just have to deal with it." Truly, he did not care. The confidence was ever present in his voice as he let his words loose upon the youngsters. "The day has been a touch slow this morning but I assure you all things will be travelling at a much faster pace in the future."

Resting his hands against his hips the red-haired demon puffed out a waft of smoke as he thought quietly for a moment. One of his students would be late – he’d deal with that later. Right now he was mentally pondering the possibilities with those who sat before him. Tallying it up in his head, a moment later, a slight grin filled his face. "Right, onto your assessment for this morning." He began, grasping the end of the cigarette with two fingers as he held it away from his mouth so to allow the demon to speak more clearly. "I’ve decided that this morning will be spent doing an exercise known as ‘Defend The Staff’. One student from each group will defend a staff whilst their teammates try to capture it by any means." Pausing for a brief moment he allowed the information to sink into the students minds first before continuing, as he wasn’t entirely sure how they would react to it. "It is a simple exercise though it means a great deal, oh - and you will be marked on your performance. Obviously whoever wins will get more marks, though there are a few things that will be taken into consideration; such as skill, precision, and how many injuries you sustain – if any."

Looking away and reaching over to the desk, the demon took hold of the register yet again and glanced through the names - occasionally peering up from the board quietly, until Memphis was ready to continue. "Ruzik will be defending for Group 4, Bugby will be defending for Group 3, and Laurence will be defending for Group 1," Looking at the board he noticed there was an uneven amount of students, and when glancing over bits of information regarding a few certain individuals at that moment, the demon quickly sorted out a solution with a casual grin. "However Muse, you will not be participating in this exercise and will sit back and watch with the teachers. Liliane, you will be forming a temporary team with Group 4, as your teammates are otherwise unavailable for now. You will join Kou and Kasumi against Ruzik. Otherwise, that is that." With the names called out he placed the register back onto the desk, before returning the cigarette to the corner of his lip and crossing his arms.

"The exercises will take place just outside in the training grounds, so when you’re ready just head outside and get started with your group. There are four staffs outside stuck into the ground – just pick one. I don’t expect these to take long and remember – you’re just either trying to protect the staff or capture it. Though you can do so in whatever means you choose, just don’t kill each other. Your teachers and I will be watching and judging you, though each teacher will only be judging their own students – so don’t worry too much, heh. This exercise will show your flaws and strengths, and whatever else – so begin."

With that said he turned round and took a step over to the teachers who sat just behind him. "As I said you’re all expected to watch your students and judge them, take notes if needed, and once they’re all done I expect you to give them feedback and point out their downfalls and strengths. They’ll never improve if they don’t hear the truth – so be brutally honest to them, I demand you do that. Miss Rayne, you'll be joining Mr. Akigawa, as your students are together for this exercise. Once you’re ready meet me outside, and if you have any questions, well, you know where I am." With a rather serious or quite dull expression, the demon had finished all that he had to say before taking his leave, and beginning to head outside for - surprisingly - some fresh air!

Cleo Gardenia

Cleo turned and smiled at Bugby when he asked if she had cheered up. In truth, she had in some small way. But it still didn’t quite distract her from the uncomfortable feelings that she felt within her. ”I have a bit thanks to you Buggie.” The girl purred before raising her arm up and resting it against the boy as the pair waited for class to begin. Although, when the students were informed of their new groups the cat was pleased to know hers wasn’t changing, thankfully!

And sure enough it did moment after. The Headmaster introduced himself as Memphis, he seemed like someone who shouldn’t be easily messed with – though Cleo wasn’t entirely put off him. Sure, he didn’t answer her question, but he was kinda cool with his slight ‘devil-may-care’ attitude. Plus, the girl already sensed that he was a demon when she entered the class but she could only wonder what the mages thought. Memphis didn’t care, clearly. The demon later went on to explain their assessment and the cat was a little surprised, though excited at the same time. A game? She’d finally get a chance to prove herself against her teammates! It was also the perfect way to relieve the slight stress she had felt since watching Ichiro sit with that mage girl. Memphis had also mentioned that they were going to be judged on how they performed, but Cleo didn’t really pay much attention to that – she was just interested in the game!

Grinning, the girl peered down at her green-haired teammate after learning that he was the defender of their group. She’d have to beat Bugby to win? It was an interesting concept and sure, the girl wasn’t entirely enthusiastic at having to face her friend, but it was only a game after all so what harm could be done?

As the Headmaster spoke more on other little bits of information Cleo vaguely listened, all the while keeping her eyes peeled on everyone else as she mentally analyzed each one, somewhat. Once the man was finished addressing the students and turned his attention to the teachers, Cleo immediately sprung out of her seat and eagerly nudged Bugby. ”Come on Buggie-Bear, you’re up! Heh, this’ll be fun.” She half-teased and ceased touching the seemingly un-thrilled boy. Of course her attention soon enough drifted over towards their mage who sat elsewhere, and despite desperately wanted to run over and drag the boy outside with her, Cleo amazingly refrained from doing so. Instead opting to spin round, running a hand through her long hair before swishing it to the side with an air of confidence about her. Not even saying a word to her own mage as the feline began to head outside.

”Catch yah’ outside Buggie.” Once outside the feline stretched her arms up into the air as she waited for the boys to catch up – already mentally debated her course of actions for the exercise that lay ahead of her.

Ruzik R.

When Ruzik heard the mentioning of groups he actually could not believe his luck at that moment. He got Kou as a teammate? Sweet. Though of course that probably meant something entirely different to Ruzik than it did to anyone else, as for him it was merely a case of who’s bed he’d be sleeping in, since he got his precious little rabbit sleeping literally under him. Oh the fun! As Kou turned to face him he raised his hands up and clasped them behind her back as the two looked at one another.

”Looks like we’re going to be roommates now – or bedmates.” He said rather teasingly, as the rabbit most likely knew what was on his mind already. A few minutes later the class had officially began according to the Headmaster as he then addressed the students, giving his name and revealing he was a demon – though Ruzik had a slight inkling to this, he still was a bit surprised at the fact the academy was allowing a demon to lead them, more or less. Of course, the time soon came to when the demon finally spilled the information regarding their assessment – a game no less that revolved around one student outsmarting the other, or really, one beating the other and claiming victory. Ruzik didn’t protest the idea, he was unsurprisingly keen on outwitting someone – mainly anyone who irked him enough and so far that had proved true thus far in the morning.

Finally, the groups were revealed and the redhead couldn’t help but smirk just a little. Glancing towards the back of the room he spied the pony-tailed mage with whom he’d be facing – such a pleasuring thought it was too, to bring pain upon the brat who’d dared look so disgusted at him earlier. He’d show her. Likewise it was revealed that he would have to go against Kou and that other girl Kasumi? The Headmaster went onto explain a few more things but Ruzik was too busy focusing on Kou just then to really pay much attention.

”I think we’re going to have such fun, as you’re really my only competition out of this little game. Those mages don’t stand a chance at outdoing me.” He laughed quietly, until realizing he had been keeping Kou on his lap this entire time. Oh well. With one simple motion he slide the girl off his lap and onto her feet with ease, before getting onto his own and turning his attention to the mage-girl at the back.

With that, he began to walk through the classroom and up towards the back of the room – or really he sort-of skipped quite happily, before standing in front of the mage-girl. Knowing Kou would follow in her own time, the redhead wasted little effort in sliding himself onto the girls desk and peered over at the mage until their faces were quite close to one another. ”Looks like we’re going against each other mage – so let’s make it interesting.” He said, flashing the pony-tailed girl a sharky-grin before sticking his tongue out rather teasing as he rubbed it against his pointy teeth – and no doubt already felt the hatred and disgust from the mage that clearly did not like him. Besides, he already knew neither of the boy mages were in his team nor facing him, so it made sense to assume this girl was either his mage, or at least his opponent either way. ”If I win I get to kiss you, and touch you ~” The demon didn’t feel a need to go into further detail as just that alone was likely enough to make the mage feel a tad uncomfortable. ”And if you win well, that’s entirely up to you whatever you want.”

With a grin, Ruzik hopped off the desk and spun round to face the mage with a delighted expression. ”Whenever you’re ready just come outside.” Hardly. But still, Ruzik knew that was enough for now and so left the mage be, before looking over to the other mage-girl with long black hair. ”Oi, if your part of this group then get moving.” He ordered, be finally taking his leave and making his way outside. Once there he made his way over to one of the staffs and stood beside it, debating over his tactics to defend such a thing – and show those mages who was the real boss.

Whilst he waited the boy summoned forth a blade of some sort - a claymore to be exact as that was what he mentally wished for, as the weapon then formed itself within his right hand suddenly, before the demon gave it a few swings to test its feel. Though he wasn't entirely sure what form of defense he would take, or what weapon. For now though he busied himself with swinging the thing around as he paid little attention to that around him as he waited for his group to join him.

Bugby sighed in a rather unimpressed manner as he found out the class assessment. A game? Well, what else could you call it? One member was to defend a staff as the other two tried to take it. It wasn’t an overly complicated concept though the demon couldn’t help but appear not too thrilled when hearing that he was the defender for their group. He was to defend some staff from Cleo and Ichiro? He didn’t like those odds and knew only bad things could come from it.

Once things had been explained and the Headmaster turned to the teachers, the demon felt a sharp nudge against him as his teammate got to her feet. ”Come on Buggie-Bear, you’re up! Heh, this’ll be fun.” Bugby didn’t look all that enthusiastic, and somewhat begrudgingly he rose from his seat. ”Buggie-Bear?” By the time he was already standing the cat-girl was already out the door, clearly the girl was more eager than he was but then again he didn’t expect much else from Cleo. Bugby also wondered how Ichiro felt about it, though he was certain he’d find out soon enough once the group was together again.

Heading outside the boy joined Cleo for a moment, taking the chance to glance around the area of the training grounds as he eyed up the staffs that had been put in place. Choosing one, he shrugged a little before making the long walk over to the staff and stood beside it as expected. He gave it a few light nudges with his foot, testing its sturdiness, before shoving his hands into his pockets. ”Seems sturdy enough, though how the hell am I suppose to defend this thing?” A part of him didn’t care for it really, he’d rather not do this at all though clearly that wasn’t an option. Unless he felt brave enough to challenge the Headmaster, but he didn’t. The demon also didn’t much enjoy the fact that they were to be judged during this exercise, since he already knew he wouldn’t do well. He couldn’t begin to think what Midora would think of him either.

With a sigh he looked back to Cleo, who was most likely awaiting Ichiro to join her. Once that happened were the two of them going to attack him right away? It was a little hard to plan for something he wasn’t entirely sure of, nor was he that familiar with their attacks and capabilities. Either way, he’d need to think of something to keep himself from losing, since that was the aim of this exercise, for him at least.

Laurence nearly jumped a little as the Headmaster got everyone’s attention. The man was certainly, well, commanding in a way. The young mage certainly didn’t wish to get on his bad side and paid exceptionally close attention to every little thing he said. Though the boy was a little unnerved when informed that the figure was actually a demon. Laurence wasn’t sure how to feel about that, especially as the Headmaster was their appointed teacher after all. Was that a good thing or a bad thing?

The demon went on to explain their assessment and what exactly it would entail. From what the mage gathered it was a game of some sort, in which one student guarded a staff whilst their other teammates tried to take it. That was simple enough, right? Laurence took a deep breath whilst contemplating such a task, especially as he wondered what role he would play. Soon enough that was revealed, as the boy found out he would be his groups ‘defender’. Oh goodie.

The Headmaster had also explained that the students would be judged and marked upon how well, or badly, they each performed. Hearing this only added to the boy’s nerves and caused him to feel uneasy, as he always hated whenever he was going to be graded, and worse, watched. As he tried to calm his nerves Laurence could already feel his insides acting up just a little, as whenever the boy was emotionally uneasy that was always a reason for his elements to kick up within him. He could only hope things would settle by the time the exercise would begin, or else who knows what he would do. And just the thought of a poor mark already prompted the boy to feel discouraged.

The demon figure talked some more about this and that, and once finished turned to talk briefly with the teachers behind him. With this, the boy turned in his seat and looked to his own demons. ”A-Alright girls, I know we can do this no problem!” He said, trying to appear confident though he was sure his nerves were seeping through despite his attempts. ”If I’m right, all you have to do is get the staff that I’m guarding. Simple, huh? Look, I don’t want you to go easy on me, in fact I want you to really go for it. Give me all you got!” With a forced smile the boy got to his feet, filling himself with whatever enthusiasm he could before giving a confirming nod.

”I’m good to go! I’ll see you two outside, I’ll be waiting!” Turning round he boy walked to the door and made his way outside into the area that was known as the training grounds, before picking one of the staffs that had been placed outside beforehand, and walking over to one. Once there, he noticed the red-haired boy was already at one too, as well as the green-haired boy, and the cat-girl was waiting by the door. Laurence was certainly interested to see how things went, and more especially how his own group fared and the chance to see what his demons could do.

Kou listened intently to the exercise, feeling a bit excited by the fact that she would get to to use the full extent of her abilities. She had not expected the encouragement to not hold back and Kou balled her fists in determination. The rabbit would win this, if not for herself then for her team. What Kou also had not been expecting was that she would have to retrieve the staff from Ruzik. Kou twisted in his lap to look at him and grinned, it seems he was up for the challenge. The blood manipulating demon would definitely not hold back against the Incubus.

”I think we’re going to have such fun, as you’re really my only competition out of this little game. Those mages don’t stand a chance at outdoing me.”

"You're lucky, if it was anyone else I would go easy on them." Kou giggled, but knowing what Ruzik could do prepared her for the oncoming battle. It seems that Ruzik finally realized he was still holding onto her and the demon stood, allowing the rabbit to slide off of his lap and stand upright. She smoothed down her dress and wondered if she should really be doing this challenge in heels, then decided that she had done yesterday's in the same shoes so why would today be any different? Kou watched as Ruzik strode to the back of the room where Liliane was sitting and sat on her desk. She smirked and shook her head, going outside where Memphis, the new headmaster had said the challenge would be.

Kou waited on the field and watched as her classmates trickled out of the building, she would have to devise a strategy with the two mages and would have to work together with them. This bugged Kou of course, but she wasn't going to let the two know outright that she hated them. First Kou would gauge their abilities, then decide if it was worth allowing her malice to slip. For now she would wear the happy-rabbit facade she was so used to putting on when dealing with humans. Kou closed her eyes and took a deep breath in, summoning her weapon. A glowing trident appeared in her hands, glittering with an aura of electricity and sending off small sparks of lightning. Kou opened her eyes and smiled, ready for battle.

She waited for Liliane and Kasumi to join her, attempting to close her heart and wipe her feelings away so that Ruzik would not be able to manipulate them. They were both at a disadvantage as the two demons knew what each other could do. She watched as he summoned a Claymore, a Scottish long sword that from her vantage looked a bit awkward in his hands. She glanced at the stands were the teachers would be sitting and noticed that a demon was there, the black haired one Ruzik had been eyeing before. Why wasn't she allowed to participate? Perhaps she had no control over her abilities and they were afraid the girl would kill someone?

"Where are they already?" Kou sighed, hyped for battle. If Kasumi and Liliane didn't show up in two minutes she was going to start without them. She hoped they would prove to be useful and wouldn't get in her way like Etelka had the day before.

Muses's cheeks turned bright red when Ichiro scratched his cheek and confirmed Lilane's statement that she was attractive. The demon looked at her lap and fidgeted, suddenly uncomfortable. How could anyone find her pretty what with her hideous horns and bat wings? She was the very essence of a demon, a dreaded being that brought nothing but fear and loathing to humans. The headmaster suddenly spoke up and Muse jerked upwards and turned in her seat to face the front as the man announced he would beat up anyone who attempted to speak over him and didn't pay attention. She would definitely be sure to stay away from this man as the demon smelled of trouble. Unless specifically summoned by him, Muse would not utter a word to the beast.

Her nerves were replaced with excitement as he announced the activity, Defend the Staff. Muse had never heard of such a game and was eager to participate, but confusion arose and it was clear by her expression when he did not announce their group with the others. Her heart sank when he so publicly stated that Muse would not be able to participate in the game and would have to sit out and watch the matches commence with the teachers.

That was no fun! Why wasn't she allowed to join them? Her hands suddenly turned into claws at the irritation she felt and quickly Muse turned them back, now understanding why. Did the headmaster perhaps know her abilities? Maybe it would be best to strike up a conversation with the demon after all. Perhaps he even knew what she had done to land her in this prison disguised as a school? "It's not fair," Muse mumbled when he was done speaking and stood up. No point in waiting for the others as it seemed that the demon called Hive would not be joining them and Liliane would be joining Group 4 in the exercise.

"I want to play too," she sighed and took a seat on the bleachers, hoping that this would be over quickly so that she would have something to do. Maybe someone would get knocked out or severely injured and she would be allowed to take their place? Muse hardly doubted it, although one could hope. Right?

Kasumi returned the friendly wave, although lacking in the obvious enthusiasm. Listening, somewhat bored, she smiled wryly as the Headmaster introduced himself and brought out his kick-your-butt approach to teaching. K was more attentive as Memphis informed them of the assessment.

"Right, onto your assessment for this morning. I’ve decided that this morning will be spent doing an exercise known as ‘Defend The Staff’. One student from each group will defend a staff whilst their teammates try to capture it by any means. It is a simple exercise though it means a great deal, oh - and you will be marked on your performance. Obviously whoever wins will get more marks, though there are a few things that will be taken into consideration; such as skill, precision, and how many injuries you sustain – if any.

"Ruzik will be defending for Group 4, Bugby will be defending for Group 3, and Laurence will be defending for Group 1, however Muse, you will not be participating in this exercise and will sit back and watch with the teachers. Liliane, you will be forming a temporary team with Group 4, as your teammates are otherwise unavailable for now. You will join Kou and Kasumi against Ruzik. Otherwise, that is that.

"The exercises will take place just outside in the training grounds, so when you’re ready just head outside and get started with your group. There are four staffs outside stuck into the ground – just pick one. I don’t expect these to take long and remember – you’re just either trying to protect the staff or capture it. K concentrated, sorting out all the information. She was in a group with Ruzik, Kou, and Liliane. Not too bad, but not a dream team or whatever. She wasn't great on teamwork, so K really just wanted to kick the others out of the way and steal the staff... or whatever. She tried to formulate a plan as she walked, following Ruzik and Kou outside.

She closed her eyes, calling upon the Enenra- Ceara, wasn't it? The smoky being turned her consciousness to K, and Kasumi in turn opened her mind.

Ceara, would you mind helping me? I have a task set before me, and I would like to get full marks. Could you lend your help?

...What is the task?

I have to steal the staff in a game. An Demon is guarding it, of the Succubus or Incubus type. I think he's a hybrid. I have two teammates, a rabbit girl and some sort of super-soldier, I've heard. She seems very proficient in telekinesis...

Interesting. What would you have me do?

I may need a diversion, or some way to get the others out of the way. I suppose I will attempt to formulate a plan with the two. Stay nearby in case I need your abilities.

...Of course.

K advanced, hurrying to catch up with Kou and Liliane. She was pleased to hear that the Enenra would lend a hand. Reaching her 'teammates', she sighed and figured, why not.

"So... what is the plan?"

Just as Liliane was going to ask more about the talisman binding that was done to Muse the headmaster demanded everyone’s attention. He finally told the class of their assessment. They were to either defend or capture a staff from a classmate. Memphis stated that Muse would not be participating and addressed that Lili would be with group four. The girl didn’t know who each group consisted of but she was told it was with Kou and Kasumi. Kasumi was the mage that had to go to the infirmary yesterday. And Kou was the girl with the rabbit ears. Lili didn’t have an opinion of either person but Ruzik was the person in their group that would be defending.

Liliane once believed in fate and destiny. She believed that things happened for a reason. Her beliefs weren’t as strong now as they were then but this occurrence suggested that there had to be some truth. Although, Lili was disappointed that Memphis mentioned a rule that there was to be no killing. The mage would suffice at critically injuring the Incubus.

As soon Memphis finished his instructions students started heading out of the class and Ruzik made his way to Lili. He sat on top of her desk and brought his face close to hers. She didn’t budge. From this distance Lili could and would kill him if he tried anything. But he merely wanted to place a challenge.

”Looks like we’re going against each other mage – so let’s make it interesting. If I win I get to kiss you, and touch you ~” Liliane imagined that the Incubus that killed her mother used a similar approach at threatening her mother. ”And if you win well, that’s entirely up to you whatever you want.” Liliane wasn’t sure Ruzik knew how much of her hate for his kind was. Did he know he was gambling his life? And even if Lili lost, surely he didn’t think she’d just become a plaything for him. If he even, so much as, laid a finger on her in a sexual way he was a dead man. The school’s rules was the only reason he was still alive even at, this point. Ruzik hopped off of Lili’s desk with an expression that she’d be glad to change.

”Whenever you’re ready just come outside.” With that final comment the Incubus made his way out the door after addressing Kasumi. Lili realized she had a death grip on her mask. She didn’t need it during the exercise but it would still take a lot of control not to let her emotions cloud her judgment and take over her training.

After Ruzik left Liliane was left again with Ichiro and Muse. The demon seemed rather down by the fact she wouldn’t be able to participate. She mumbled something before heading out. Lili felt a ping of sympathy. Muse didn’t seem like most of the other demons. She wasn’t prideful or rebellious. That only raised more questions as to why she was in the academy. She said she had no memory so there was no use to jumping at conclusions. Lili stood to follow the others out of the class and she looked at Ichiro.

”Good luck. The demon’s in your group seem to have potential so just make sure there’s no more underestimating.” Lili walked out the door to join her group. Ruzik was getting ready and Kou seemed to be waiting impatiently. Kasumi wasn’t far behind as she walked up to Kou and Liliane.

"So... what is the plan?"

”I think it goes without saying we have an advantage in numbers. To overwhelm him seems the most direct course of action we should take. But first we should discuss our abilities. I think everyone knows what Kou’s are since we saw them in action yesterday. Mine are telekinesis and molecular combustion--I can make things explode with a wave of my hands. Or at the very least deliver a concussive blow.” Liliane waited to see what the others had to say.

Kasumi grinned. She seemed to be the only one with her powers in the dark. She couldn’t wait to show off her skills on the battlefield. ”My powers consist of Telekinesis as well- of a sort. I have fifteen knives, each with a different curse. Each can prove fatal, but I’ll try not to kill our group mate. I also have the power of Mediumship, and I have already set up an Outpost- the Enenra, Ceara, has agreed to lend her assistance.”

K smiled, somewhat creepily. She was aching to start, but was curious of her team mate’s powers as well. She’d certainly remember this. It may prove useful in the near future.

Image

Image

”In truth my abilities are much more complicated than what you saw yesterday, but since you seem content with knowing the basis I will leave it at that.” Kou said and leaned against her trident, working with the two of them was going to be much easier than she thought and she was beginning to realize that they might actually prove useful. Telekinesis certainly was an intriguing ability and there were so many varieties of it that Kou doubted the two could the same things.

The rabbit grinned, they had quite the advantage. ”Ruzik has an ability known as heart’s desire, he can basically conjure up anything within reason.” The other two abilities Kou was not going to explain as she didn’t understand them herself. She was aware of what Ruzik could do with them but there was no real way to warn the mages of the manipulation the Incubus could perform.

”As far as a plan goes I think we should use a switch attack pattern but each time we finish the formation we should change the order so he doesn’t know who will attack next. It will also help to stay out of each other’s way and make sure that no one gets hit by anyone else’s attacks.” Kou was convinced that this plan would work for them because one, they all seemed to need space to perform and two they would all get an equal amount of time to beat up the incubus which they all seemed to be thirsting for. Kou’s anxiousness for beating up the demon had to do with their past, not because of the whole picnic ending in disaster thing, but because the two had used to sparr all the time and Kou had a feeling that they would not get the chance to do that here.

She wasn’t sure of Lilane and Kasumi’s reasons, but Liliane had not reacted well to seeing the red headed incubus in class this morning and judging by the teasing Kou had a feeling that Liliane had a bone to pick with Ruzik. Kasumi’s expression was so neutral that it was hard to tell what the mage was thinking and it frustrated the rabbit a bit. Normally people were so easy to read but this human was not an open book, she was a cage chained shut with a padlock with a key that had been thrown into a river. Perhaps she would open up when they get to know her more? Kou could only hope.

”So, any objections?” She asked, cocking a hip. Her left ear flopped over her eyes and Kou quickly pushed it back up with the tip of her weapon, causing little sparks of electricity to fly.

”I’ll just follow the two of you. I have experience with working with others and following their attack pattern. Since it seems like Kou is the one that knows our opponent best then I think we should do what you think is best. Liliane turned to the other mage.

”That is unless Kasumi has a different idea how to go about this.

K shook her head. ”This seems an intriguing strategy. I will forward to this...” She didn’t have much of an opinion, really, but just wanted to get on with the exercise. Hopefully, this strategy would work…

Her teammates seemed to have a bone to pick with the redhead, Ruzik. K was mostly just thirsting for the adrenaline of battle again, and her own little demon babies were growing restless and bloodthirsty. Hush… Our time is coming… And it will be glorious.

Ruzik watched the three girls talk between themselves though he couldn't really make out what exactly they were saying, only that it most assuredly involved bringing pain upon the demon. Grinning at the thought, he preoccupied himself for the next few minutes and went about inspecting the staff, though really he cared little for it - only that he must keep it away from the girls and that was about it. Not a hard task really, in fact Ruzik believed he was above the assessment and there was no doubt in his mind that he would be victorious.

”Come on, let’s go already!” Spitting out the finished lollipop he let the small stick drop to the ground before stepping on it and mashing it into the ground further. Looking to the females then afterwards, he narrowed his eyes a little as the incubus grew impatient. Although, what the demon initially believed to be his eagerness was really something else entirely. The heartbeats of those around him grew louder, gradually - though Ruzik paid close attention to the three girls and their hearts in particular, a dark smirk edging itself across his lips as he flashed his sharky-teeth.

He would get their hearts. His hunger would make sure of that – his best advantage over the three, actually! Although when it came to Kou it was the case of a ‘no-go area’ to the redhead, as Ruzik, for some unexplainable reason, could never harm the rabbit’s heart. It was untouchable, precious. His one weakness. Unfortunately. It almost pained him to think about it, especially as the girl knew it too. But no matter he would work around it, especially as the two mages were far more interesting, in that taking their hearts would be an absolute pleasure! Oh. But he wasn’t allowed to kill them – was he? Pity. What a shame the Headmaster actually believed he’d follow the rules!

”I best brace myself, I suppose.” He told himself, and then confidently brushed off the little worry that he had felt. After all, since they weren’t allowed to kill him, it basically meant he’d win – since they probably had no idea that the incubus felt no pain! Well, it was delayed at most, and for sure he would feel it twice as bad later, but that only meant he’d simply have to get the exercise over with quickly before his senses kicked in – or alternatively, just avoid getting hit.

”Quit gossiping already! Come on, come on, the sooner I beat you lot the quicker I get the goodies!” He snapped before hunching over suddenly, the redhead appeared rather uncomfortable for a split second, before slowly regaining his composure and returning to an upright position. With a huff, he ran his free hand through his red hair and even twirled a long strand around one of his fingers in a bid to relieve some boredom – but it didn’t work. He was restless – desperate to cut to the action!

Whilst he stood the claymore in his hand began to change, the demon seemingly unaware at first, as a dark aura began covering it completely before the weapon started to reform itself into something much different and more deadly. Tilting his head and glancing down at his hand, he noticed the sword was gone and in its place was a scythe. A long, slender and perfectly sculptured weapon of death! Certainly a sexy weapon most befitting for the incubus! Grinning like some giddy child the demon twirled the weapon in his hand before swinging it around and resting it against his shoulder.

With a murderous glint in his eye, Ruzik stepped forward, announcing his readiness to commence the exercise. Looking to the girls he gave a challenging glance, raising a brow as he awaited signs of movement between them. However, once a few minutes more had past the incubus tightened his grip on his scythe, deciding there and then that he would not be forced to wait. Donning a rather serious expression, the demon stepped forward once more, and then again, and again. Until Ruzik found himself quickly progressing towards the females, baring his scythe at his side as the redhead brought the challenge to the girls!

”Fight me already – unless you’re scared! In which case I suggest you all just roll over now.” He taunted, as for sure, he was confident – clearly so much so that he could afford to leave the staff so unprotected as he had. But the demon wasn’t worried, not at all!

K smiled at the demon, summoning her own Demon Knives. Five floated in a blood-coloured haze behind her, five random curses. Blindness, Agony, Amnesia [the severity depended on the wound], Comatose, and Slice. Kasumi would not be intimidated by this redhead; she was ready to beat the crap out of him. Even if this was just an exercise.

”Scared?” she taunted, her knives dancing in anticipation, ”You aren’t exactly all that terrifying...”

K hoped to get him riled up. She wouldn’t normally bait such a strong demon, but if her was unbalanced, he’d be easier to kill- injure. K quickly corrected the mistake, keeping her knives at bay. The were somewhat sentient, enough to be bloodthirsty and relentless, at least. And ready for battle. Ruzik seemed up for the challenge as well, swinging a scythe.

As they awaited the response from their third member Kou’s left ear twitched, as she then turned round and noticed the Incubus drawing nearer them with a scythe in his hand. However, a moment ago he had a claymore, so the demon must’ve changed his mind and opted for something else. Of course, it wasn’t surprising to see the redhead so impatient to begin things, and it seemed he was more than confident enough in winning as he approached them.

”I think our discussion will have to be cut short as here he comes.” She warned the other two, before holding her weapon forward and giving off the impression that she was raring to go. She was determined to win for her teammates, even if it meant beating Ruzik – though the demon was certainly up for the challenge, so it didn’t make the rabbit feel that bad when it came to fighting him. Kou knew what the incubus was like, their history together would lend itself to her advantage with any luck though the same could be said for Ruzik who knew her equally as well.

”Follow my lead.” She whispered to the two mages, though hadn’t even dared to take her eyes off the oncoming demon. Hopefully, if he hadn’t heard her, the girls could overcome the incubus and use his own cockiness against him. The staff was there for the taking, however, even if it look undefended Kou knew Ruzik wasn’t a demon who could be taken down easily – actually the demon quite enjoyed the challenge, and believed in his abilities so much that he was practically giving them an advantage as he came to them. ”I’ll go first and test him, once you see an opening I expect you to know what to do.” She said to Liliane and then Kasumi, figuring that they’d be able work that part out on their own after all. And, if she could keep the demon busy long enough he may not even see the mages coming, a workable tactic that could work, and once changing up their formations, Ruzik wouldn’t be any wiser about who would attack him next.

She’d show that sneaky Incubus! With a cool look of determination the rabbit twirled her trident in her hands before gripping it hard with one, and holding it to her side.”Don’t show him any weakness or cause to take advantage of you, because he will use it. Now, let’s do this.” Despite appearing so, the rabbit didn’t overly trust the two mages. But for the sake of winning this assessment and proving herself, she’d make it work no matter what. Plus, beating Ruzik was an added bonus as the incubus was not exactly use to losing to girls, or anyone really.

With a confirming nod the rabbit dashed off and quickly enclosed the small distance between them and the other demon, and soon enough she met the incubus straight on and both their scythe and trident collided with a loud clatter of noise.

As a few seconds passed neither side would give an inch as the rabbit and redhead stood, but Ruzik would quickly sort that out as he grinned wickedly. With his scythe wedged between the horns of her trident, the incubus then dragged his weapon to the side in one powerful motion and brought hers down with it, before forcing his hand over quickly and nabbing one of her long ears as he dragged the girls head down forcefully – an act which was quite surprising, but the redhead needed to win.

”Oh, so they send the bunny out first? You know I will take you down, rabbit. So stay out of the way you little animal, and then you won’t get hurt.” He warned, seemingly for her own good as the Incubus clearly had forgotten how strong the girl really was. Saying nothing, the rabbit-demon remained silent for a moment, perhaps giving the redhead a chance to rethink his actions, but evidently not.

”Ruzik.” Kou muttered, an unpleasant glare in her eyes as the rabbit tilted her gaze up to the incubus. In a split second she twisted her hand round and spun her trident forward, forcing it up past the other demon as she aimed for his head, or throat. But the sudden action caused the redhead to release his grip and step backwards, only his shoulder getting pierced by the last horn on the end of her trident. Just as quickly a bolt of lightning formed and charged through the weapon and into Ruzik – but the demon appeared otherwise unharmed for the time being, proven by the grin that was fixed to his features.

”Nice try.” Ruzik teased before swinging his scythe round – nearly taking the girls head off, but of course she ducked out of the way before leaping back a few paces – pulling the trident out of Ruzik in the process. In a cocky manner, the redhead ran at her and swung his scythe though only this time aimed it at the ground with a hard enough force, before forcing his weight upwards as he propelled himself over the rabbit-demon and landed to the other side of her.

Swinging the weapon round he tried to catch her side with the blades tip, but once spinning round, Kou met his scythe with her trident and forced the blade over her before releasing it and lunging forward, aiming her trident at the demons chest. Forced back, Ruzik tried to regain his balance as the rabbit leaped forward, the tip of her weapon just scraping past his side as he tumbled back a few paces before steadying himself. With a few cursed words uttered under his breath, the incubus hopped forward and swung his fist round, nabbing the girl in the stomach as he knocked her back suddenly. The rabbit-demon fell to the ground with a rather hard landing, hitting her head especially as the redhead noticed she hadn’t moved since falling.

”Kou?” Ruzik questioned, standing still as he looked to the girl who could have possibly been knocked out. With his attention on the rabbit the incubus paid little focus to the other two girls for the next few minutes.

Kasumi watched as Kou and Ruzik grappled. It was intense, and Kou seemed in a spot of a trouble a few times, but oddly enough, the mage felt no inclination to help. K needed to at least leave the rabbit her pride.

She stalked in, Agony flying ahead to stab right at Ruzik’s unprotected back. It might not hurt him, but at least he’d be distracted for the time being. She felt around for any ghosts, and in one exhalation of power, she revived about a score of ghosts- zombie-like corpses of monsters that students had killed. She set them on Ruzik, enjoying the combat.

She gazed around for the staff, spotting it lying near where Ruzik had waited. He seemed confident in his abilities, so she assumed he’d just left it there, more intent on fighting than winning.

She could feel her pulse as she ran towards the staff, unsure of which power pool was causing it. Hopefully, she wouldn’t have another Crimson Curse breakdown. That had been embarrassing.

The monsters seemed to almost be on their prey, and they’d do a well enough job. They were all quite large, and were very hard to kill- at least, until K’s energy ran out. Then… well, they’d all be quick work for the Incubus.

Her knives had grown bored with K’s run to the staff and shifted to their wispy demonic forms. They reminded K of the Incubus- the same lithe build, sharp teeth, and reddish hair. Even if they did recognize Ruzik, they were too intent on bloodshed to not attack. Another thing they shared- a thirst for blood. Well, Ruzik liked hearts, but… same thing.

She reached her staff, but then the pulse she’d felt grew stronger and she collapsed a few feet away from her prize. She almost screamed in frustration- and agony- but she couldn’t let her team down. Not now, not ever. She might not like them, but she was loyal to the death as soon as they proved themselves. And they had.

Though not painful in the slightest, Ruzik did feel a sharp stabbing to his back which caused the demon to redirect his attention from Kou and onto the little black-haired mage. Reaching behind him, he pulled the knife out from his back and merely tossed it aside with a somewhat amused expression. In the passing seconds the demon erupted into a gut-filled laughter and aimed it towards the girl. ”You actually thought that’d work?! That’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen! Haha!”

His amusement was cut short when he witnessed the presence of monsters suddenly, presumably summoned by the mage in question – but Ruzik wouldn’t let that bother him. In truth, he was just enjoying the run-around that he was getting. As it was hardly surprising to know that the Incubus cared little for the assessment – he wasn’t trying to impress anyone let alone the teachers, including Mikari. In fact, when sparing a moment to glance that his beloved teacher, Ruzik could tell how impatient the man seemed just why watching him sit. It added to the demons entertainment, and he cared little for whatever consequence was given to him for his lack of doing his best.

As the horde of monsters approached him the demon simply sighed and bared his scythe. It was a hassle, but he’d deal with them nevertheless. Running at them Ruzik spun the weapon round in his hand, gripping it with both hands as he leaped into the air and in one swift motion brought the blade round and sliced at the first creature that came to him. However, the monsters were very well protected; or rather they showed little discomfort when stricken. But still, Ruzik weaved in and out through the group of beasts and sliced and diced all along their bodies repeatedly, hoping to gain some sort of reaction from them.

When he wasn’t paying attention one monster took advantage and rammed at the demon, knocking him back and shaking his balance, whilst another ran up to strike the redhead from behind. Ruzik felt something impale him in his lower back but was unbothered by this, as he hopped out the way and regained his bearings. Another creature leaped up soon after at the demon but felt the sting of his scythe as he aimed the blade directly down its throat, fatally injuring it he thought, but the beast sprang up and shook the redhead off forcefully. In the next passing seconds the monster charged at the incubus and hit him hard from the front, forcing the boy back some distance, but he quickly got back to his feet.

”Screw it then.” He huffed, clearly knowing that he could beat the monsters if he really tried, but ultimately had decided they weren’t worth his effort. Totally. This whole exercise wasn’t worth his effort, really. When it came down to it there was only ever one thing that the demon wanted – and he’d get it, just now. His whole exterior changed within an instant, the carefree, entertaining demon had morphed into a rather soulless devil, per say.

Noticing the same mage-girl fall some distance away from the staff, Ruzik averted his eyes from the monsters and onto her still body that lay on the ground. It was his chance. He didn’t care how close she was to the staff, only that she was seemingly down for the count from where he stood, and what little effort she put in to forcing herself to nab the staff was pointless. With a wicked smirk on his lips, he flashed his sharky-teeth and walked over to the girl. Of course, the monsters quickly noticed his absence and immediately headed directly for the redhead – but he then got another idea.

With a mere clap of his hands the incubus forced the beasts to drop to the ground suddenly, seemingly instantly. The monsters lay on the ground quite lifeless though really they were sleeping, as the demon put a spell of some sort onto them, or more technically, a status effect that caused such a reaction. Why hadn’t he thought of that before? Ruzik pondered briefly, mentally slapping himself for wasting his energy so foolishly. But, it was only a temporary solution - they’d awake soon if he didn't move fast! A moment later though he focused back onto the mage before him.

”I’m going to kill you now, alright?” An odd way to phrase it, but his intention was still the same as the incubus raised his hands back and held the scythe above him. Grinning giddily, he ran at the girl, paying little attention to the demonic figures surrounding her – even if they did seem oddly like himself, Ruzik knew it was only a coincidence. As he ran the demon seemed in his element as he was about to end the life of the girl-mage, and yet suddenly, for no reason he appeared to halt and dropped to his knees. ”N—Not now.” He muttered to himself, his grip on his scythe loosening before the weapon fell to his side and lay on the ground, all the while the incubus was almost paralyzed on the spot as he seemed to be in a degree of discomfort.

A few seconds later, the demon began to bleed from his wounds that he had taken on earlier. From his shoulder, back and stomach. He felt a sharp pain erupting from within him, gradually making its way up and through the rest of his body. Though not the full extent of the pain, which he knew he’d feel fully soon enough, the demon began to force himself back upright as he slowly got to his feet – grabbing the scythe in the process as he used it to lean against. Ruzik was insistent on doing what he was planning to do regardless, and refused to let his own biological downfall control him! However, he seemingly forgot about the second mage who apparently escaped his attention just then, as his greedy desires focused on the other, fallen mage.

Liliane wanted to step in but when Kasumi summoned her monsters it seemed that they would likely attack anyone in the vicinity. So, Lili merely observed the fight. It seemed Ruzik was being overwhelmed and Kasumi was going for the objective. Suddenly, she seemed to pass out just like she had done during the exercise the previous day. Lili thought that if passing out was to become a habit the small girl would have a hell of a time as a mage in combat and would become a liability.

When the girl fell it seemed like the strength of the smaller demonic beast wavered. Ruzik easily regained the upper hand he had lost on moments before and started to approached Lili’s fallen ally.

He’s going to harm her while she’s already down?

It was now that Lili began to move. She knew the Incubus was no longer in a position to stop her from the objective. She walked to the staff and picked it up. She was about to turn to the instructors to inform them of her team’s victory but, suddenly, something became more important. She remembered Ruzik’s challenge and wanted to make it clear who the victor was. As she approached Ruzik the Incubus seemed to also be suffering from his injuries. Liliane found it odd that his reaction was late but dismissed pondering the answers to ‘why’ for the time being. She stood before him as he barely stood, propped up against his scythe. The once arrogant demon now barely standing. If Lili could she would laugh in his face. Instead, she let her actions speak for her.

The mage knew that Ruzik probably planned to either further injure or maybe even kill Kasumi. Just the thought of it made Liliane’s despise for the demon grow. She kicked the scythe out from under him and immediately was on top of him as he fell. He didn’t have much strength in him and something in her mind told her she would be no better than he. But her body acted first as she raised her fist and smashed it against his face. She continued, each punch becoming easier than the last.

The objective no longer on her mind--replaced with thoughts of her mother. As assaulted the demon she could feel water drop from her eyes. She had only felt this way once before and that was the day she learned of her mother’s fate. Liliane stopped her flurry of punches and placed her hands to the side of his head.

”The world is better off without your kind.” Suddenly, Liliane was grabbed from behind and pulled away.

”That’s enough, Liliane.” It was Ms. Rayne’s voice. Even so Lili struggled against the teachers grip. Her goal was still unfinished. Ruzik was not dead but the teacher was stronger than she looked and her hold never wavered. ”I don’t know what happened between you two but I clearly remember the rule of no killing!” Sarah stated when she pulled Lili back far enough and sat the girl on the benches. It was then that Sarah noticed the tear streaks on Liliane’s cheeks. She let out a breath and looked towards Mikari.

”I can’t do anything more since they are primarily your group for the day so I’ll let you take action and decide what should be done.” Sarah turned back to Lili but the mage seemed extremely lost in thought. The once emotionless face now showed nothing but hurt. Sarah wanted to comfort Liliane but such an action might not be viewed well at the time being by everyone. So she stepped back to let Mikari deal with his students.

Blood glistened on the pavement, a pool of crimson staining the rabbit's blue hair purple. Her body lay at an odd angle on the ground, Kou's trident discarded to the side. She was out, a bad hit to the head having put the demon out of comission for the remainder of the battle. She had not been braced for Ruzik's hit to her stomach, she hadn't expected such a dirty trick and underestimating the incubus had been the rabbit's downfall. Clearly she would have to work harder if she was to best him, but for now she would just... sleep...

"Look at the fluffy animal mommy! What is it?" A boy chased the animal across the field, his silver hair glistening in the low light of earth.

"That is a rabbit my son, they are nothing more then game for the larger species and food for the humans." The child was upset by this answer and he stopped. Curious as to why he had stopped chasing it, the rabbit poked its head out of the hole it had jumped into and looked over at the boy. "See son? They are much too curious for their own good."

"I want it." He grabbed the little animal by its cotton ball tail and dragged it onto his lap. The woman sighed, clearly upset by this news.

"Tsukuyomi you musn't take such a thing back to the moon with you, if you do it will be sad because you've separated it from it's family."

"She."

"Pardon?"

"The rabbit is a she."

"Fine, say you did bring this creature home. What would you name her?"

"Kou."

Kou's eyes opened a bit as she peeked out from the slits to see Lili beating up Ruzik. "Good, he deserves it." The female uttered and closed her eyes once more, drifting back into blackness. One of the demons watching in the stands noticed and ran to get to the nurse, having nothing else to do and knowing she couldn't finish the animal off going to find the woman who treated their wounds was the only option.

"There's something wrong with my pet!" Tsukuyomi brought the little animal to his mother, Izanagi. She was laying sideways in his hands, her eyes closed and normally perky ears flopped over. "I told you this would happen Tsu, the poor thing misses her family."

"But I am her family now!" Izanagi pursed her lips and took the rabbit from Tsukuyomi. She stroked its head and murmured something, but the rabbit did not move. Sighing, Izanagi handed the rabbit back to Tsukuyomi. "There is nothing I can do my son." The boy stormed out of the room, clutching the animal to his chest.

"I'll fix you, don't worry."

Kou awoke in the infirmary, her entire body aching. With a shaky hand she reached up to feel her head which had been wrapped with a bandage. Her clothes were folded neatly on the table beside the mattress and Kou was wearing nothing but her underclothes and bandages. "Don't try to move, that incubus did a number on you." Kou winced, clutching her skull as the bubbly voice of nurse Julie invaded her head. "Stop talking," she mumbled and turned onto her side. "Too loud."

The nurse walked over and moved Kou so that she was laying on her back, causing the girl to scream in pain. "I told you not to move," Julie shook her head. "I have to go treat someone else. Stay still." The way Julie said it meant that the woman was serious and Kou could do nothing but stare as the woman left the curtained area.

Muse was watching the battles, bored out of her mind when a man approached her. He seemed to recognize her, but Muse had never seen this demon before in her life. She blinked in confusion and watched the headmaster approach and speak to the boy in a rather brisk tone. Muse tilted her head to the side, attempting to eavesedrop but something else caught her attention. One of the battles was nearly finished and there was a blue haired girl laying on the ground, her head bleeding. Bloodlust instantly came over her and Muse was ready to pounce when she remembered herself and leaned back, taking a deep breath and instead running to get someone who could take care of the wounds as she doubted anyone would be happy if she finished the rabbit off and took her tail as a prize.

[color=#6EC232]"Someone-is injured and-needs help,"
Muse gasped in the doorway of the infirmary; the nurse looked up from her work with a startled expression and grabbed a bag, telling Muse to lead the way. The demon did just that and watched as the nurse knelt beside the demon and took out a white talisman, writing a word on it and placing it on the ground beside the rabbit. Muse stared in awe as the ground around the demon glowed and the nurse nodded her head. "I'll be right back, make sure she doesn't bleed anymore." Muse nodded her head, unsure of how she would do this and watched as the woman hustled away and returned shortly with some sort of portable bed. "Can you support her head while I lift her?" Muse nodded her head once more and held the rabbit's head up as the nurse lifted the girl's body easily onto the bed on wheels. "Thanks... Wait don't do that!" Muse was licking the blood off of her fingers. She hissed when Julie slapped them away from her face and lunged, but the nurse jumped out of the way and Muse rolled. "Don't tell me what to do!" The woman rolled her eyes and began pushing the bed away. Intruiged, Muse followed and watched the woman work to bandage the girl up inside the infirmary. She heard voices and poked her head out of the curtained area to see three from the classroom this morning. One of them had a particularly bad leg wound and was laying on an open bed. Muse stepped out in full and walked over to them, looking at the injury. "The nurse is busy, but she'll be out n a second." The horned demon said and shifted her weight from one leg to the other as she waited for Julie. Soon a scream came from behind the curtain and Julie popped out, asking Ichiro to remove his trousers so she could heal him.

As Midora read through the pages carefully, he thought about the mission that the Department has given them. So a Window is open and they wanted us to take care of it huh? This is not a very difficult task but it is not easy either. Midora figured that he could challenge the students by given them this task as an exercise, but he has to discuss with Memphis first, the red-head Demon was the one who is in charge of all this, although Midora can suggest ways to solve this problem. He began to thought which ones he should advise to send since most of them are probably drained after this morning task.

Suddenly, he heard that there were some knocks on the Office's door. "Please come in." Midora said as the door was opened and came in someone he hasn't expected - Bugby. The Demon walked in with his usual "don't-mess-with-me" style, he greeted Midora as he gave him a frown. ”About what you said earlier, to my group, well, to me more exactly,” The young demon said, but Midora can clearly read from Bugby that he was somewhat not very pleased in Midora's presence. ”You said if we needed you we would know where to find you, so I wanted to talk to you… if that’s not a problem.”

"Of course." Midora put down the clip-board, clasped his hands and rest his chin on them them, "Is there anything you would like to say?"

”It’s just I’d appreciate it if you didn’t place such high expectations on me. I mean, I did try my best to beat Ichiro and Cleo, but I still lost. You judged my ability from what you saw but I don't believe you really know the extent of my power, and thus are not fit to judge my ability. You're just a mage who happens to be in-charge of me, and if you really took an interest in your students then you'd know that whenever I attempt to mimic multiple abilities from different people things always go wrong, my concentration lapses. I mean, don't our profiles tell you anything that's relevant? But yeah, what I'm trying to say is that I didn't like how you judged me and that I don't really plan to live up to whatever you expect from me, Mr. Kurayami.” The demon spoke up his mind and Midora was rather surprise to see a young, troublesome Demon being able to be so genuine with him. That's a good sign. But what the Demon was saying next aren't pleasant to hear in the slightest.

”I’m not as remarkable as Ichiro, or as daring as Cleo. I don’t even know why I’m at the Academy since I’m clearly not suitable here. My parents made a mistake sending me here,” Lowering his gaze the boy sighed a little. ”Anyway, that was it really. I just wanted to make things clear.”

It irritates him. It always does. He hates it when people keep admitting to themselves that they were weak, that they aren't worth to meet everyone's else expects. It just like they're making up excuses so that they don't have to moving forward. Thoughts like that are the very reason why there are just a certain people who have to keep their heads down for their whole lives. Midora considered it as the worst of disgrace. Looking up to the Demon, he retains his usual calm expression, but on the inside, he knows that it will take some while for them to understand, but he just couldn't stand anyone, especially his students having such thoughts. However, he is still sane enough to knows the person who is talking to him right now and he decided it'd be the best to let him have a chance to improve.

"First, I want to praise you for having courage to speak up your mind like that. I understand that my judgement was made solely on my point of view during your session. I didn't have any power that resembles you nor if I'd ever worked with someone with your ability so I may have not made a 100% correct judgement. However, I believe that what I've said earlier isn't wrong. The reason why I gave you those comments is that I trust you, as your teacher." Midora replied with the usual monotonous tone, but of course, every words that he has said were genuine.

Then he continued, "I think that it might because you didn't really understand the way I work. Of course, I've read your profiles carefully and I know your strengths and your weaknesses, though I need to watch you more from now on so that I can have better views of what you're truly capable. It's true that people sometimes, or even often, make mistakes. I think the reason why you've failed not because that you're weak, it just you didn't fully understand your own limits. Trying your best doesn't mean that you have to harassing yourself and pushing it too much. It is either that you don't want yourself to improve, or just that you don't have anyone to help you to. But you are here, aren't you? We can definitely work on that." Midora paused a bit to let his words sink in, "Even I, when I was young as you, I couldn't control my power properly either and I didn't remember a time that I went back from school without destroying something or even injured someone. But I tried, and eventually I became who I am right now. That is why I had my expectations on you because I know sooner or later, you CAN change. Whether worse or better is a different story."

Midora leaned further to Bugby, "And one more thing, I didn't really know what your parents had done to you go during your time staying with them. But at least, they realized your ability, they want you to be better. I won't defend them for whatever horrors they made you went through, but once they've sent you to this Academy, they've given you a chance to earn something that even they didn't know - freedom." As Midora spoke about this, he closed his eyes for a few moments as memories from the past began to pouring back to him. He was abandoned by the people who has brought him to this life. They humiliated him as if he is worse than the worst of scumbags, as if he was never their child, just because he was different. It was painful for him anytime he recalls it. But it didn't totally bad either. It was then, although he was full of grief that he has destroyed the very place where he was born, that he realized that he has the chance to follow whatever his heart desires, to be himself.

He looked up to Bugby, "I understand that most of you think this is just some sort of punishment, a prison no less, for those who are considered as misfits such as you. But not many think of this as a chance for them to renew their lives. No matter whatever purposes you came here for, willfully or forcefully, we Teachers want you to better yourself, even if you have no interests in doing so. You know why? Because once you've enough strength, once you've been held highly, no one can stop you from spreading your own wings, even your parents. It is the 'freedom' that personally I want you all to achieve one day. Have you understand?"

Then, he placed both of his arms casually on the table, "Bugby, your two teammates aren't as perfect as you thought they were. They also had their own flaws, you know. If you saw what Ichiro did yesterday, you will think different. Cleo also, but I hadn't told her about it yet. Which is why I don't want you to keep saying as if you are good for nothing like that. YOU are strong, ALL of you are strong, it just you need someone to help you realize that. Whether I was having an interest for you or not, my duty is to guide you, to teach you what is right, and I always keeping an eye open on you, you just didn't realize it, keep that in mind."

Midora came into his conclusion as he held the clip-board and tapped it onto his desk, "I know that you don't really like me, the reasons why are not my concern. But these are the sincerest advice from your supervisor. Whether you take them or not..." He said as he tilted his head with a light smile, "...is your choice."

With that said, Midora turned to the door, "Now, if you'd excuse us. The Headmaster and I have some problems to discuss, I suggest you should go to the infirmary to treat whatever problems you had, you'll need it." Then, Midora cleared his throat and raised his voice so that the person who is standing outside can hear, "Please come in, boss."

As the students finally are going to make some moves, Mikari couldn't felt more relieved. He crossed his legs as he felt somewhat excited for the fight. Mikari expects it to be bloody and intense as he always love to watch others sparring. Finally. Mikari's lips formed into a smirk as he saw Ruzik defended the staff while the other three girls are going to steal it from him. What the red-head Demon didn't realize that the Dark Mage knew about him more than he thought. For now, his job is to pay close attention to him and interrupted before Ruzik could has a chance for whatever schemes he had. Don't underestimate me. Mikari can be easy-going, but once he had had his eyes on someone, not a single movement of that person will escape his eyes.

As the fight went on, Mikari kept observing and realized the strategies that the other three girls used in order to go against the Incubus. But Ruzik was actually better than Mikari has thought before as he saw him up against the other three at the same time without much efforts. He sighed, looks like he got to push the Demon a bit more. However, at the first moment, he could immediately realized that something was going to be wrong when the battle's intensity got higher.

Mikari had felt that something has gone wrong when he felt the sense of bloodlust from them. The ones who remained standing, which are Liliane and Ruzik, emitted a very intense desire for killing. It's not like that he has never felt something like that before - Midora's bloodlust at his full power were a lot more intimidating than the two could ever compare, but if things keep going like this, one of them might really lose their lives.

Right at the moment Liliane placed his hand onto Ruzik's head, Mikari swiftly stood up and yelled as he approached them, "This fight is over! Stop!" But it seemed she ignored his order. Luckily, Ms. Sarah has stopped Liliane and pinned her against the bench where they were sitting. He went to checked on Ruzik. The Demon's energy is completely drained and his heartbeats are slower than usual, but fortunately that it wasn't really life-threatening yet. The Demon has lost his consciousness. Mikari sighed. He wouldn't be surprised if his beloved student is going to receive severe punishment for not being unable to control his killing intents, and the same would also goes to Liliane.

He looked up and saw that Muse has already go and get some help for Kou so he better worried for Ruzik and Kasumi for now. He stood up and reached for his bag of powder and blew a kind of levitating dust to the two. Kasumi floated on air and flew to Mikari. Until the dust wear off, the two of them will floated mid-air and follow Mikari wherever he goes. He then turned his back and went to the bench. Ms. Sarah, after comforting Liliane a bit, stood up and looked at Mikari. ”I can’t do anything more since they are primarily your group for the day so I’ll let you take action and decide what should be done.” She said as he stepped back.

Mikari could only sighed as he stood in front of the Mage and looked at her with a disappointed look, "I had expected better from the two of you and now you let your own hatred for each other to blind you from sanity." Mikari said depressingly to with another sigh then turned to Ms. Sarah, "According to the rules, whenever a student's killing intents got too high, which leads to them losing control of their own bloodlust, no matter intently or accidentally, resulting them in doing any actions or attempts that are life-threatening for the other students, the Teachers have the rights to temporarily seal that student's powers. But further decisions and punishments will be made by the Headmaster himself. Things have went out of control so I won't be able to make any judgement, which is the purpose of this exercise. For now, I will do what I have to."

With that said, Mikari raised his arm toward Liliane as a dark circle appeared and black chains sprung out from it, circling around the Mage before they merged into her, leaving countless marks with the shape of chains on her body. "Until the Headmaster decide what to do, you will be banned from using your power. I will take you to the detention room. Sorted out whatever problems you had with your Teacher when you get there, I can't do anything otherwise." Mikari said then turned to the Demon Teacher, "Please come with me, Ms. Sarah."

With that said, Mikari helped Liliane to stood up and made her walked by his side as he took them out of the practice's ground. He then took her to the detention room. When he reached there, he asked Ms. Sarah, "I will take these two to the infirmary and inform the Headmaster. Please look after Liliane until the Headmaster come." He said then turned his back and walked towards the infirmary's direction. Upon arriving there, he saw that Julie the Nurse are already busying with the other students from Midora's group. He sighed, "I'm sorry, Julie." He cleared his throat in order to gain her attention, "Looks like you already having a busy morning today, but can you take care of these two too? I'd be grateful."

He said with a light-hearted smile then waved his arm and two students were gently laid on two empty beds in the Office. "Oh, and before I forget." Mikari said as he took out a power-sealing talisman from his robe, "Please place this talisman on that red-head when he has recovered a bit. Let just say that things have went out of control a bit and the Headmaster will decide what to do. Thanks and see you later." He smiled before headed out and walked towards the Headmaster's Office. He sighed as he thought about what has happened today. Well, just hope that things won't go any worse today.

Bugby was a little, or rather very surprised as the teacher spoke to him. He had expected the mage to tell him off, have a go at him and generally just punish the demon in some shape or form. But instead Midora was oddly comforting and reassuring, and clearly didn’t wish anything bad on the demon, but rather the opposite. As the boy stood and listened he awkwardly fiddled with his hands and sleeves, clawing the ends of his coat as he twisted a small piece of it between his fingers.

The demon didn’t really known how to respond as the man spoke to him, opting to just occasionally look at him before glancing elsewhere and trying to keep his composure. From what Bugby could understand Midora seemed to agree with him, but also pointed out relevant little aspects that clearly the demon hadn’t even thought of. Even still, the mage stood by his earlier judgment and told Bugby that the cause for his failure was not down to him being weak, but instead his own understanding of his ability, which wasn’t entirely wrong. The man even mentioned how he was similar to the demon during his youth, that his control over his powers was not as great as it is now, as he is older. The boy couldn’t help but wonder how he’d be as he grew older, would he be as good as Midora? He doubted it.

Once the topic of his parents was brought up the demon quickly looked to the mage as he leaned closer to the demon. He kept his silence still, though his expression instinctively changed into a more gloomier look, even more down that he is usually. His parents were not exactly an evil couple, and they only wished for their son to become a better demon like them, though their methods to do so were perhaps a tad extreme as some would say. Sighing quietly, the boy listened to the rest of what Midora had to say before throwing his hands back into his pockets as he finally addressed the teacher. ”I… think I understand, Mr. Kurayami,” He began, dropping the angsty demon act as the boy gradually realized that the teacher before him was not some evil control-obsessed mage set on ruling over him as the demon had been use to before coming to the academy. But rather he was quite different from the demons initial thoughts.

”You want us to be better, to reform us and work out whatever issues we have, I get it. We’re all problematic students, no one is perfect, and all that stuff. I think I understand what you're trying to say, but as I am it is hardly surprising to find me somewhat apprehensive towards your words. But still… thanks Mr. Kurayami.” There was probably a bunch of things the demon could have said, but he was still in a sense of surprise over how… kind the man seemed, and Bugby was a smart enough demon to know when someone was speaking sense, so he’d accept that for now. Just then Midora titled his head and offered the demon a smile. Bugby hunched his shoulders and quickly looked away, saying nothing in response as the demon was unsure of how he felt, really. Midora then informed the youth that he had a few things to discuss with the Headmaster, who by then he’d figured was outside. Not really wishing to be annoyance the boy just gave a slow nod before turning and taking his leave out the door. ”Right, bye, Mr. Kurayami. Our chat was interesting.”

Passing the Headmaster the young demon merely kept his head down and hurried past, before continuing down the hallway and quickly heading onward. He took the mage’s advice and made his way to the infirmary where his teammates also ought to be. Once there, the demon was surprised again, as he saw quite a few familiar faces at the infirmary. Clearly this morning’s class had gone a little too far for some of the other students, never mind his own group. Regardless, Bugby looked around for his own group and soon found himself joining Cleo and Ichiro where the pair were within the infirmary.

”Found you, eh… why is Ichiro not properly dressed?” The demon couldn’t help but point out the obvious, noticing their mage laying on the bed and unable to not blatantly stare at him. Then again, it wasn’t like he could help it. Ichiro was just there, it was hard to ignore him and so Bugby just forced himself to deal with it. Crossing his arms the boy sighed a little. ”Why is it wherever Ichiro is there is always a bunch of girls near him, like seriously.” Well, Cleo was there. He had also noticed the horned-girl there too, but Bugby wasn’t jealous at all, not a bit!

It was then that the boy noticed Ruzik and another girl from their class in some of the other beds within the infirmary. Really, Bugby was surprised to see the redhead there, as he would have thought that the demon could handle himself enough that he’d not end up here, like the rest of them. Someone must’ve done a number on him by the looks of the incubus, but then so did everyone, as his eyes returned back onto Ichiro, or more especially his wounded leg. Although the demon tried not to, a visible blush formed against his face and just as quickly the demon looked away. ”Hopefully we can get this over quick, I don’t fancy hanging around this place longer than I ought to.” He muttered mostly to himself, seemingly ignoring his own injury as he sat on the end of the bed.

Sarah let the Headmaster get a good distance away from the detention room before she opened her mouth.

"Liliane, what has gotten into you. Of all the students you were the last person on my mind to act up. I didn't know what to think at first when I saw you going towards Ruzik. He was already worn down. But when you put your hand on his head that's when I had to intervene. I know what you were going to do. Liliane looked up at Sarah from the desk she was sitting in.

"How did you know? I've never told anyone about that ability."

"We know about your past. The experimentation. The artificial ability. Your training to become an organic weapon. We know who primarily funded your program and that you were subject zero in receiving an artificial ability. Which was the one you were going to use on the Incubus." Liliane was at a loss for words. What was there to say? Sarah seemed to know everything about the girl already. And she wasn't going to make an excuse for her attempt at the demon's life. At this point she'd still do it if she had the chance. As far as she was concerned Ruzik was another target to kill and the job wasn't finished yet.

"Look, your past is hardly an issue here at the academy. It's no worse than what the demons have gone through. It's probably worse because you are one of the few that is a victim. You were the one experimented on and your mind is the one that was twisted. We can try to change and mend it but it will take time. But first I must know why Ruzik? Did you have a quarrel with him? Or maybe you needed to vent your anger and he was the most convenient one?" Lili shook her head. The mere thought of the Incubus made her anger return."

"That Incubus and all of its kind are disgusting creatures. The mere sight of him makes me sick. His kind is the ultimate reason for me being this way. An Incubus manipulated my mother. Tried to make her kill me when I was an infant. Then He killed her when he found out she only abandoned me instead. My mother was dead either way but at least she spared me. It was by chance that the military picked me up. They scouted for a mage that suited their program and were looking for orphans to use as subjects. I seemed to fit every prerequisite and they immediately adopted me into their facility to train. From there I became proficient in hand-to-hand combat, melee weapons, fire arms, explosives, and magic. I know a lot about standard magic and how to deal with the basics of each element. I am the best organic weapon in Europe and have proved it through a variety of test. Unfortunately, my primary source of income into the military project became deceased and thus all forwards movement on the training ceased. And then I was picked up by this academy." Sarah nodded her head. At least she had a motive for her attempted murder. And the reason for Sarah seeing a hint of emotion on Lili's face afterwards was explained as well. To Liliane the attack was personal. There was reason for her racism and Sarah had to try and see if she could put a stop to it.

"Look, Liliane, I can't possibly understand your feelings or try to imagine what you've been through for most of your life. But what I do know is that this place is where everyone is to get a fresh start. Whatever happened in the past was left at the door you walked through before orientation. Yes, Ruzik is of the same race that murdered your mother but that's no reason to take it out on him." At this Lili suddenly stood up and looked Sarah in the eyes. They resembled the same as a dolls. Emotionless and without life.

"That thing challenged me. He had the intent to kill Kasumi and I merely returned it. He dared to threaten me with his disgusting ways of what his kind does. I don't do threats. I was trained to kill in combat situations. If I would have killed him then I'd only be doing the world a favor. One less Incubus on the planet is one less to worry about. If he ever threatens me again then I will kill him. Powers or not. I have been taught to dispatch my enemies either way. It's how I am." Sarah backed off. She knew Lili wasn't threatening the teacher directly but the intensity from Lili's natural aura was still intimidating. Liliane then sat back down and the two sat in silence to wait for the Headmaster to arrive.

Kou had been dreaming about running through a field, her little legs would move every few seconds as though she were bouncing and her ears would twitch. Julie watched with a look of fascination, her expression quickly changing to relief when Mikari showed up. The woman needn't even explain as Mikari took one glance at the rabbit and seemed to understand what happened. Kou was lifted from her basket, the fluffy white rabbit attempting to stay asleep but a voice rudely cut through her dream, the field quickly melting to darkness. Kou opened up one eye, the lights far too bright for her liking. She quickly shut it, wanting to fall back into the blissful, painless sleep that was carrying her through quite an adventure.

No such luck, a blanket was bundled around the rabbit, which she was thankful for as Kou was very cold. She opened her eyes to look up at the dark mage, wondering what he was doing here. Mikari was her supervising teacher so it kind of made sense, but it was so late at night that Kou had figured he would be asleep. The mage took Kou outside and set her on the bench, the two sitting under the pale light of the moon. The rabbit blinked, once, twice as he asked her the question and spoke of both Ruzik and Tsu. She couldn't get a break from the pain, whenever a certain redhead's name was mentioned it was like as though an arrow was shot through her heart.

Ruzik and I were hanging out in the room, just doing couples stuff. No need to go into details, that was private stuff Mikari had no business knowing about. All of a sudden Ruzik starts freaking out, he said that it was all my fault he was like this and if I hadn't gotten caught he would be fine. Then he started calling me names. He said I was used and weak. I small squeak came from the animal, signifying that Kou was upset. So I laid it out for him, I told him that if he hadn't just sat there like a wimp I wouldn't have gotten caught. I said I was done with his games, then I turned into a rabbit and Ruzik said something about freeing me and locked me in the room. Kou did her best to tell Mikari the events that had taken place, she had been a bit upset though so it was hard to tell if her regaling Mikari of tonight's events had been accurate.

So why did you bring me out here? Obviously you didn't just want to talk? Kou said, then as an afterthought added, can you make the pain go away? Kou tilted her head to the side in question, an ear folding over.

Muse was not happy, her side ached and while it was healing she kept reopening the wound by slashing at other monsters. A gargoyle had come after her next and Muse twisted and slashed, evading and throwing hits. She wasn't successful in landing blows every time, but once Muse realized there was a pattern to the gargoyle's movements taking it down was much easier.

Bright lights began flashing around her, Muse watched as the portal closed, Laurence standing moving away and sitting in the grass. So it was over? She sighed in relief and ran her hands through her hair, attempting to smooth it down. What would Lili say when she saw all the blood? How was Muse supposed to explain it? She couldn't simply tell her mage that she had gotten so carried away that she had begun slashing at anything that moved. It would cause worry and paranoia no doubt so Muse would keep that to herself. Perhaps the demon could say it was her blood? An excuse that would make her seem weak, but half of it did seem to be the demon's so that is what she decided she would say when asked.

"No problem," Muse shrugged, stretching her shoulders when Cleo thanked her. "I'm sure you would have done the same for me," or at least Muse hoped someone would have her back like that. The demon lined up with the others, glad that it was time to go. Muse was going to strike up a conversation with Venom but the other female wore an expression that warned Muse not to speak to her so Muse stayed silently in line. When they finally reached the school she began to head for the dorms, then realized she had no idea where those were.

Muse rifled through her pockets, pulling out a crumpled piece of paper with a crudely drawn map. The horned girl used this to attempt to locate her dorm. It took a while, but eventually Muse reached the room and turned the knob, finding a rather plain space that was big enough for three. Muse had no belongings so she didn't bother unpacking, instead the female sat on the bottom bunk, wondering where her mage was.
