| Personality |
Growing up, Caesar was defined by his actions and punished for speaking out of turn, and though he is no longer owned and beaten, he still sometimes finds it hard to put his thoughts into words. Quiet, cold, calm, and more than a little terse, he would have been taken out of the commission entirely if not for his overwhelming work ethic. Far from a team player, Caesar finds it hard to get along with other members of the Comission, and even many of the higher ups. However in the field his social problems strip away, as the man finds himself single-mindedly devoted to his task. Though he'd prefer to take charge of the operation, he is more than used to taking orders without question. To those that have earned his respect, Caesar can best be described as doggedly loyal, with an unwavering trust that would put even the best-intentioned to shame. In social scenarios Caesar prefers to listen and choose his words carefully, knowing full well the horrible power that poorly chosen rhetoric can have, even accidentally.

| History |
Caesar was born in 1845 to a slave couple on board the ship headed for the "New World." At a young age he was put to work on a plantation, working the fields and providing free labor for the plantation owner. At first he saw nothing wrong with this life, until the first time he was submitted to the lash. From then on out Caesar was constantly looking for his chance to run. He found it during the Battle of Tranter's Creek, taking advantage of the confusion brought on by advancing Union troops, Caesar fled the plantation. After an overwhelming Union Victory, Caesar managed to find freedom. Hoping to help repay his saviors, he made his way to Kansas, where he joined the First Kansas Regiment and began to fight for the Union and freedom of his fellow slaves.
Caesar's enlistment was mostly uneventful, as far as wars go, until the fateful battle of Poison Spring. Confederate soldiers mutilated over half of Caesar's regiment, leaving him to deal with the true horror of war. Battle-hardened and unwilling to let the sacrifices of his friends to be in vain, he continued his service until the end of the war, his regiment eventually being dissolved into the 79th Regiment Infantry U.S. Colored Troops. With the end of the war, Caesar finally saw hope for a brighter future. The United States would be able to heal and emerge stronger than it had started, all under the leadership of President Abraham Lincoln.
Lingering outside Ford's Theater, Caesar hoped to have a chance to personally thank the President for his leadership in these trying times. Near halfway through the play, he noticed some exceedingly odd men armed with unusual weapons that were seemingly intent on sneaking into the Theater. Fearing the worst, only five days after the Confederacy's surrender, Caesar leapt into action. The first Commission agent went down without ever knowing who had snuck up on him, but the second managed to react just in time to draw his weapon before being knocked out cold with a small boulder. It was then that Caesar heard a gunshot, and was confronted by two Commission agents. The lead agent, seeing promise in the man able to quietly incapacitate two Operations agents made a choice, and abducted Caesar.
Impressing the Handler in charge, Caesar was put on the fast track for Operations work. He threw himself at his training with a one-track mind, seemingly unwilling to think about anything other than advancing his position in the Commission. The strange world of the Temps Aeternalis seemed to always have more to teach him, and willing student that he was, Caesar absorbed as much about his new world as he could; whenever he wasn't quieting disruptions to the timeline.
