His ranking is likely also why he's more laid back than most of his siblings. He didn't have the kind of expectations Lucien or Lucky had, nor suffered the isolation the middle numbers did, or caused the same green-around-the-gills reaction Ben did. Vya has his own trauma - any emotionally neglected pin cushion would - but it's rare to see him take anything seriously. He probably enjoys alcohol more than he should, and he definitely enjoys riling Lucky up more than he should. What could he say, entertainment wasn't easy to find as a child, he had to make a lot of it up himself.
A bit of an alcoholic since the day he learned how to pick the lock on Hargreeves liquor cabinet and refill the bottles with just enough water to keep the consistency from being questioned, Vya has been an enabler of vices since his youth. In short, unless one is looking to get messed up, don't trust any CapriSun packet or bottled soda he passes around.
An instigator at heart, Vya has a tendency to be the devil on people's shoulders, often supporting their ideas to do things they definitely shouldn't. His favorite quote seems to be "Dad ranked me number eight for a reason - it's not my fault people think my ideas are good.", closely followed by "AA is for quitters." He's a surprisingly good listener, preferring not to get into his own bullshit, and a charismatic jokester when he does have to converse. It makes him a good bartender, but not the best friend.
β’ Indestructibility the inability to be physically harmed in any lasting manner.
β’ Regeneration the ability to heal physical wounds on himself, or by using his blood, on others.
β’ Temperature Immunity while he can feel heat or extreme cold, after the point that it becomes life threatening, his nerves stop processing the feeling.
β’ Resurrection in the event that he is killed, he has thus far been able to return to the living.
β’ Unknown Mortality despite all of Hargreeves' tests, it hasn't been decided if Vya's immortal or not. It's doubted, given that he ages like normal, but without possibly removing his head from his body, or his heart from his chest, it's unsure just how long he'll live.
β’ Pain just because he's indestructible, doesn't mean he's immune to pain.
β’ Paralyzation when harmed to an extreme extent that affects his brain, heart, or lungs, he often becomes paralyzed until the damage is healed. It is not uncommon for him to be mentally aware, but unable to let anyone know he is.
β’ Recklessness it's not strictly his fault.
β’ Being Buried Alive it's the paralyzation aspect - he has serious nightmares about his family deciding it's taken too long for him to come back, only to wake up in a coffin. This fear only grew after the Academy split up, and he worried no one would come to claim his body.
β’ Losing a Sibling they might not always get along, but he figured out after Ben's death, that his biggest fear is that other people don't come back when they die.

Although being a superhero wasn't exactly what he wanted to do (because honestly Vya could care less about the general public - humanity sucks and in his opinion could really use a reset - so that savior complex would be of much better use on someone else), it was all he was raised to do. He wasn't the last sibling to walk out of the Academy, and definitely wasn't the least equip socially, but that didn't mean life on the outside was easy.
Vya wandered for a few years. He took busses until his money ran out and picked up random jobs wherever he landed. He'd stick around until he got bored or one too many people got sick of his face, and start the process all over again.
He did that until he ended up in California, where he found home in a beach based bar called The Alibi, a place serving hard liquor and cigars to off duty detectives and cops. Maybe it was all the superhero training he was given as a kid, but Vya finds better camaraderie with them than people his age. For the last couple of years, he's been there, chatting up the local boys and one very specific totally normal not-an-assasin dude. He's kept his tattoo hidden under a leather bracelet, since his ranking was low enough to keep his face out of the paper, he's rarely recognized as an Anchor Academy kid, and he likes his anonymity.
