"You cut up a thing that’s alive and beautiful to find out how it’s alive and why it’s beautiful, and before you know it, it’s neither of those things, and you’re standing there with blood on your face and tears in your sight and only the terrible ache of guilt to show for it."

{ Childhood/Family Life }
Kelley's parents both came from money so it was no surprise that they continued a lifestyle of luxury when they started their own family. They married shortly after meeting and had two children within the first two years of their marriage. They had only wanted two children, a boy and a girl, and got that with Taryn and Reese, so when Kelley came along eight years later, they were both caught off guard. Their dreams of having an athletic and intelligent son was fulfilled with Reese and of a beautiful and prim daughter with Taryn, so there was little need or expectations for Kelley, especially while her siblings were still living at home.

Her parents only expected her to put on a smile and speak kindly to their friends at parties and not tarnish their reputation and for a while, Kelley did just that. She was a good kid who showed exceptional skill academically but as she grew into her teenage years, she became more rebellious. There was no real reason for it at first. Maybe she wanted her parents to take more notice in her but she wasn't doing it solely for attention and honestly just enjoyed the wild party-filled life that she was indulging in. Her parents didn't approve of what she did but as long she didn't do anything outrageous enough to embarrass them, they rarely addressed their concerns with her.

The breaking point came this past summer when Kelley was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. She was spending a week at her family's summer home in Newport with a few friends and after a night of drinking, ended up crashing her father's Audi into a tree. At age sixteen, she didn't even have her real license yet, so between that and being five years under the legal drinking limit, the cops had no choice but to bring her down to the station. Her parents flew up and bailed her out within a few hours but if that incident wasn't bad enough, it happened in almost the exact same manner two weeks later. This time however, she was with some guy she was hooking up with. Luckily neither of them were hurt in the crash and because he wasn't drinking, they switched seats before the police arrived and Kelley was only charged with underage drinking. It was a small price to pay compared to what could have happened had she been charged with a second DUI, or even worse, hurt someone, but the second incident was enough to force her parents into concern.

They sent her to various therapists and counselors, have banned her from driving- although the government already did so when they suspended her license until she turns 21, and are claiming to be cracking down on her drinking. Surprisingly, she has decreased her drinking habits but in place of that, has begun smoking weed and texting various guys from Saint Jude's. Although she doesn't intend to pursue a real relationship with most of them, or really any of them, she enjoys the attention and is using it as a time killer.

{ High School Career }
Kelley had maintained a rank in the top 5% of her class throughout high school, despite her image of being careless. She is currently a senior at the school because she was pushed up a grade in elementary school, but only came to Constance during sophomore year. She had originally been attending a rival preparatory school but was asked to leave after she was caught downing a flask of vodka in the school bathroom. To her parents' pleasure, she hasn't gotten into any major trouble at Constance, besides occasionally skipping a class or two.

{ Good personality traits }
Fun, intelligent, outgoing, accepting, independent, flirty

{ Bad personality traits }
Impulsive, lazy, reckless, unreliable, selfish, aggressive

{ Personality }
Kelley differs from many of Manhattan's rich girls because of how brazen and reckless she acts. She cares very little of what people think of her, or at least she acts that way, and is selfish in the sense that she will usually only do something if it's what she wants to do and if it benefits her. While many of her peers indulge in parties and alcohol on weekends in moderation, Kelley's life revolves around them and it's probably what most people associate her with. She's the definition of a wild child, being reckless, impulsive, and rarely thinking about the future consequences of her actions.

She's definitely fun to be around and gets along with most people, but does tend to be somewhat sarcastic and blunt. She likes joking around and doesn't care if what she says hurts someone's feelings if she truly feels that way. Unlike many of the girls she goes to school with, Kelley tries to stay away from cliques. She doesn't like the idea of having to be tied down to girls and having to stand by them even when she knows they've done wrong, and dislikes all of the social responsibilities associated with it. She finds most of the girls she goes to school with to be spoiled brats but knows that in some ways, she is too, so as long as she's drunk, she rarely has problems with them. However different she may be from some of her peers, she's still sociable and enjoys company, just in her on her own terms.

In her early teen years, Kelley was definitely a hopeless romantic. She dated a boy two years her senior and truly thought she in love until she found out that he had been cheating on her throughout their entire 15 month relationship. Once that relationship ended, Kelley became more emotionally guarded than ever. She can't stand the idea of ever being cheated on and humiliated like that again, and so instead of settling down with one guy, she likes to toy with their minds. She leads them on for weeks and will sometimes give in and hookup with them, but most of the time, she leaves them hanging. Her reputation of being a tease is pretty accurate but Kelley isn't embarrassed of it. She likes the power she has over boys who want her but like any girl, even if she doesn't want to show it, Kelley still dreams of a boy who will cause her to actually want to settle down.

{ Greatest joys in life }
Partying, sleeping, concerts, baking

{ Greatest fears }
Drowning, rape, overdosing, being arrested

{ Life philosophy }
Kelley lives in the moment and rarely thinks about the future consequences of her actions if it's what she wants to do in the presence. However, she also has made it somewhat of a motto to not get too attached to anyone. She's scared of commitment and the possibility that even if she does commit to someone, they could wake up one morning and leave her with nothing. She struggles with opening up to people and has found it to be easier to just keep her feelings to herself.

{ Parents }
George Hadley | Father | Age 52
George Hadley is the owner of one of the most prominent record labels in the world. He prides himself in his businesses and is extremely serious when it comes to work, so Kelley tarnishing his reputation in any way is, of course, unwelcome. George dedicated most of his parenting time to Reese, his only son, and secondly to Taryn, so he had little time or energy left for Kelley. After her run-ins with the law this summer, their relationship has become even more strained and nearly all of their communication is done via text.

Rachel Hadley | Mother | Age 48
Rachel Hadley is a world renowned chef who owns her own chain of high end restaurants, has written various cookbooks and produced multiple lines of cookware. She is currently working with Food Network to produce her own television show. Like George, Rachel was never very involved in Kelley's life. She didn't cast her off or anything, but she had already fulfilled her desires of motherhood with her two older children and wanted to focus more on her career by the time that Kelley came along. Their relationship isn't the best but it's not all Rachel's fault. She does tend to be very nit-picky and critical of almost everything Kelley does, but Kelley also purposely goes against her mother's wishes. Although they are frequently at each other's throats, Kelley does want her mother's approval.

{ Siblings }
Taryn Hadley | Sister | Age 25
Kelley idolized her older sister for much of her childhood but when she started acting out, her sister was quick to express how she didn't approve of what Kelley was doing. Being the rebellious child she was, Kelley decided that she didn't need her sister and pretty much cut her out of her life for a year or so. They have been slowly working on mending their relationship but Kelley's actions this year proved to be a setback between them. Taryn is in the process of creating a clothing line, got married a year ago and is currently pregnant with her first child.

Reese Hadley | Brother | Age 24
The only thing that Reese and Kelley share is their intelligence. Reese is currently enrolled at John Hopkin's medical school with plans of becoming a brain surgeon. The two have never been extremely close but he's probably the only person in the family that she's never had a real blowout with.

The shrill tone of his alarm clock abruptly pulled Connor out of his sleep. He was unadmittedly always a little jumpy, but the sound of that alarm after a summer without it definitely shocked him. He was quick to slam his fist on the snooze button, but even if he had time to go to back sleep, his heart was racing too quickly for him to manage that. It was already almost eight o'clock but for Connor, that was right on schedule. All he needed to do was shower, get dressed and walk out the door, so waking up before the sun had even risen was an unnecessary burden for him, even if some of his classmates felt it necessary.

As expected, he was walking out the door by eight-thirty. Both of his parents were already gone: his father probably headed downtown to work and his mother at the gym playing tennis with her friends. His penthouse was empty, but not in the somber way that some of his friends' were. Connor's parents were married and happy, his family healthy, and there was little to complain about in the Harkins household.

It might not have been the mainstream reaction to the first day of school, but Connor was actually fairly excited to be back. He loved summer just as much as anyone else. This past one had mostly been spent in the Nantucket where his family summers. His brother was home for most of the season so they spent time together there and in LA, where Connor met many of Jack's friends. They had met up with Sydney briefly while over there. She was in town with her grandfather and mother to attend the Emmy Awards and managed to get him and Jack into one of the more exclusive after parties. It would have been an amazing night had Connor not had to deal with his brother and her making out right next to him on the limo ride home. No matter how many times he had seen the two getting intimate, it always felt like someone had punched him in the gut when he saw it. Sydney knew he liked her. Everyone in the Upper East Side probably knew that by now, but she always told him that she just liked him as a friend. Although her words stated that, her actions always felt a little different. Maybe Connor was just being too wishful, but he was throwing all of his hope into the tiny little signs that suggested that maybe, just maybe, she saw him as something more.

When he was nearing Constance Billard and his phone's ring was matched with her name, his heart jumped. He answered almost instantly.

"Hello?"

"Hey Con, where are you?"

"Like a block away from your school. Are you there already?" He doubted she would be. Sydney was always on time, never too early and never too late.

"No, it's too early... I'm kind of in the mood for Starbucks." The way that she ended the sentence suggested that she was stating more than just a craving, but she didn't need to ask him to get it for her. He was going to offer without that.

"I'll pick it up!" He responded almost as soon as she finished speaking. At this point, there was no use in trying to hide how eager he was to please Sydney, and not only because he had a crush on her. She was one of his best friends, or at least oldest friends.

"Aw, thanks babe. A vanilla iced coffee would be perf! 9 AM on the steps!"

"Okay, see y-" She had hung up before he could finish his goodbyes.

Their conversation had put him into a better mood, so much so that he had no reservations with about-facing to get back to the Starbucks that he had passed a few blocks away. It was crowded with morning commuters but he took the time to send out a few texts.

To: Sienna
Can't wait to see u either! Still upset I didn't get to see u on tour this summer :(

To: Piper

Despite often being the butt of jokes for doting on his appearance, it didn't take Vincent more than a half an hour to get ready in the morning. With it being the first day of school, he gave himself a few extra minutes to adjust to waking up early by rising at seven-fifteen. His cousin, Kelley Hadley, was sleeping in the spare room of his apartment and after pulling himself out of bed, he rapped his fist against her door. "Rise and shine, Barbie." Although he doubted that would be enough to get her out of bed, he didn't open the door or pester her any further and left to take a shower. He hadn't heard her come in the previous night and was sure that she had only gotten in bed two or three hours ago. Kelley's partying habits were questionable, even to someone like Vincent who went out frequently too. In the very least, they had forced her into the role of the problem child of the family.

The end of a steamy shower led to him getting dressed in a plain white v-neck shirt, coral pants and Gucci loafers. It was a striking comparison to the outfits of many seventeen year old boys, but Vincent wouldn't be caught dead wearing some ratty t-shirt and basketball shorts to the first day of school. If he had the money to dress nicely, regardless of it sometimes being a bit over the top, he was going to do it.

The number of notifications his phone had when he finished getting ready didn't help his already inflated ego, but when he realized that twelve of them were from his mother, it shrank back down a notch. It only took him listening to one of her voice mails to know what the other two, and nine texts entailed. She sounded to be on the brink of tears, going on and on about how she was so excited that he was finally a senior and how she should have slept over in the city last night so she could be there for him this morning. She reminded him to eat a wholesome breakfast, lock his door on the way out, send his uniform to the dry cleaner's and even to brush his teeth. Her text messages contained a slew of "inspirational quotes" and baby photos of his first days of school throughout the years. While they elicited an eye roll from him, he did send her a text in response. His mother was the sweetest woman that he (and most people) had ever met, and her overly sentimental and emotional ways were to be expected on a day like this.

To: Mom
Lol Don't freak out. You've still got Mia! Wish her a happy first day of 4th grade for me. I'll let you know how my day goes later.

She responded immediately, thankfully ignoring him brushing off Charlie's existence, confirming that she'd pass along the message and reminding him that she was going to come into the city one night for dinner. The other texts that were from friends he answered in a quicker manner, although he was surprised to see one from Sienna. Their relationship was rocky to say the least, but he was happy to act friendly to her if she was open to it. Avoiding her altogether, unless he was drunk, made things easier, since it was hard to be around her when he couldn't be with her, but he guessed that it was time to move on by now. Though, that would probably change the second he saw her in person.

To: Sienna
Lmao our moms are the same people

To: Connor
Nah I'm good

To: Oliver
Ready for senior year man?

To: Sydney
You've got Connor doing coffee runs already? It's only day 1 Syd.

Since there were no real classes today and he had already picked up his textbooks, he only took his phone and keys with him. The door to the spare room was still sealed shut, so he knocked on it loudly once more. "For the record, I tried to wake you up twice so I'm gonna act like you were ignoring me when your mom calls and tries to blame you missing the first day on me," he said through the door, in a tone that was a poor attempt at being serious. There was no response, not even a snarky remark, hollered back at him, so he assumed that she really was asleep. It wasn't his job to wake her up and he doubted that the girl would be in any state to go to school even if she was awake, so with a shrug, he left his apartment.

Constance Billard was about a fifteen minute walk from his building but with the nice weather, it felt even shorter. He waited in the front area of the courtyard, his eyes scanning the growing crowds of students for any signs of his friends.

If she wasn't addicted to the nightlife that New York offered, the killer hangovers that Kelley seemed to wake up to every morning would be enough to stop her from drinking so much every night. Despite dealing with them so frequently, she need got used to them, and this morning, when she stumbled out of bed at 9:45, she headed straight to the bathroom. It took a while of her head hanging over the toilet and a steamy shower, most of which she spent sitting on the floor of it, to make her feel somewhat alive. Her head was still throbbing and she felt like she could sleep for another decade, but at least the room was no longer spinning.

Kelley had no recollection of getting to Vincent's apartment, but judging by the timeline of photos she skimmed through on her phone, it had to have been around four in the morning. Her memories of the early evening were still clear as day. Her sister and husband were in town, so she was dragged to the Gramercy Tarvern to have dinner with them and her parents. During the ride home, an argument erupted in the car between her and her mother, who insisted that she not go out on the night before school started. One of the few moments her father looked up from his cellphone all night was to yell at Kelley for talking back, and of course, he sided with his wife. Well, if Kelley had any intentions on reforming her behavior this year, it certainly wasn't going to start that night, and within minutes of returning to their apartment, she was clothed, ignoring her parents' shouts as she boarded the elevator, and hailing a cab. Her first two stops were pre-parties. The memories of those hours were lucid, and only began to cloud up when they headed to 1Oak a few blocks a way. The crowd that Kelley ran with always had VIP tables which meant unlimited bottle service. Even though she wasn't footing the bill, she made sure that whoever was was getting their money's worth. Somehow, someone must have sent her off in a cab to Vincent's apartment and without his help, she had miraculously found her way into his spare bed. What would probably be a wild and reckless adventure for most people was an average Wednesday night for her.

At some point, she must have texted her parents to inform them that she was staying with Vincent because she didn't wake up to a glut of texts from her mother telling her that she better be at school. Even if Kelley hadn't woken up so late, she probably wouldn't have went to the assembly anyway. It confused her why anyone in their right mind would ever show up to school on a day where attendance wasn't being tracked. Today was basically an extra day of summer for her, and after tossing her night club clothes in a heap outside of Vincent's bathroom, she changed into a pair of his sweat pants and t-shirt and returned to the spare bedroom.

To: Vincent
where the FUCK r u with my bloody mary???

PS thanks for not waking me up

i feel like my head was run over by a truck btw

If Connor's continuous texts and attempts to buzz into his apartment weren't annoying enough, Kelley had spent the last two hours locked inside of his spare bedroom. He was dressed and ready to go on time, though Connor probably wouldn't believe that, and it was his cousin who was really keeping them waiting. It was as if they were at the same point that they were at twelve hours ago, with him banging his fist against her door. This time, however, the other side wasn't silent. Some rap song was blasting from Kelley's side of the door and while it was loud, he knew it wasn't loud enough to completely drown him out.

"Kell, I'm serious, Connor's about to have a heart attack down there. Would you just come out already? I'm sure you look good." Similar to the last ten similar comments, this one garnered no reaction from the blonde. He was ready to slam his hand against the door again when it swung open, revealing the girl clad in a black dress. She looked good, but when didn't she? The girl could be lying on the bathroom floor with tangled hair, reeking of the odor of alcohol and still turn guys on. As her cousin, it wasn't something that he necessarily liked, but they were close enough in age where he didn't think it was his job to approve or disapprove her behavior. She had her own older siblings for that. "Finally," he sighed with relief. As he pulled out his phone to check the time, already well aware that they were late, he found another message from Connor, along with ones from Sydney and Sienna. This time, he had to roll his eyes at Connor's. His friend was usually an easygoing guy but if anyone cut into his time to be in Sydney's presence, he threw a bitch fit.

To: Connor
Calm down dude. Oliver isn't here so it's just me and Kelley. We're on our way down rn

To: Sienna
We should be there in 5. I'm with Connor and Kelley. U gonna come find me or am I going to have to search for u?

To: Sydney
Does it matter what color my pants are? They're gonna end up on ur bedroom floor tn anyway. Regardless of whether its u in bed next to me or one of ur virgin freshman friends

When they reached Connor's car, he quickly insisted that the long wait was not his fault and Kelley had no problem owning up to it. It seemed to shut Connor up at least, and they were able to switch conversation topics onto what they expected the night to entail. Soon enough, they were pulling up in front of Sydney's building. By now, the line to get in wasn't too long. Most of the freshman or outcasts had been turned away when their name failed to show up on the guest list, and it didn't take more than ten minutes for the trio to make their way inside. Vincent was the first to separate from Connor and Kelley. He wanted to find Sienna just as genuinely as he had acted when he texted her, and his first thought was that she had to be on the third level dancing. While he was known for his ego, as perfectly shown in his text to Sydney, Sienna was one of the few people who had the power to make him nervous, so Vincent decided it would be easier to approach her with a purpose. He decided that he would get drinks first, and then go find her upstairs to offer her one.

ImageImage
Sydney could only roll her eyes when Vincent responded to her text about the dress code. She shouldn't have expected anything less from him. No matter how charming he was, he was also a player and he never hid that from her. Not like she wasn't already aware of it. She had slept with him while he was dating her best friend. That alone spoke volumes of his character, and yet he was different enough... alluring enough... to keep her enticed despite his unfaithfulness. She knew better than to let him know that though. His ego was already hundreds of levels too high.

To: Vincent
You're disgusting. Show your face in ten minutes or you're not getting into this party.

Luckily for her, and her friends, Sienna, Piper and Jane came over just as she set her phone down on the bar counter. Sienna was radiating the energy that she was known for and although she was still annoyed at them for being late, it was enough to bring a smile to Sydney's face. Maybe senior year really was going to be different for their friendship. "Thanks, girl. You look amazing too. I had doubts about the black and white, but that romper is so much cuter than I remembered it to be." Since Sienna was currently her favorite person out of the three, she refused to acknowledge the other two girls with even a glance until she had finished responding to Sienna. After dealing with Piper for three years, Sydney doubted that she would be able to shake her from the group senior year either, so she needed to be nice. At least, she needed to be nice tonight since she didn't need any unnecessary drama at her first party of the year. "And Piper, I love your dress. Those guys from Fordham Prep have been eyeing you ever since you walked in." She couldn't stop herself from making eye contact with a group of attractive guys across the room and waving it them to acknowledge how obvious their gawking was. She had saved Jane for last, mostly because she didn't know what she was supposed to say to her. All it took were three months for Jane to transform from her best friend to a complete stranger. "I'm glad you decided to wear white. It makes you look so..." She cocked her head to the side as if she were searching for the right word. "Innocent," she decided on. Innocent was the exact opposite of what she thought Jane to be, although the crimes Sydney was accusing her of probably weren't as hostile and calculated as she was treating them to be.

Sienna's last comment reminded her that this party was about having a good time, and even if it took ever fiber in her being not to snap on Jane then and there, she was going to try to have fun. They could deal with all of their drama tomorrow, but for now, they needed to start the year on a positive note and having everyone back together was a positive thing. "Four shots of vodka, please," she requested as she tilted her head towards the bartender. When she turned it back however, she quickly changed the order. "Make that five." It was Vincent, finally showing his face, but showing it two minutes too late. Sienna was here which meant that Sydney had to treat Vincent like any other guy, or worse, considering that she was supposed to be Sienna's friend.

"You four clean up nicely," Vincent smirked as he approached the girls. He ran a hand through his hair absentmindedly as he took a moment to take the four, beautiful women standing in front of him in. His examination of the two blondes were probably considerably longer than that of Jane and Piper's. He was checking Sienna out, and he couldn't deny doing that to Sydney too, but he was staring at the latter more to try to read her expression. It didn't look nearly as pleasant as it had when he had spotted her from afar and walked over, but was she really offended about his earlier text? He doubted it. He was always crass.

"It's nice of you to finally show your face," she responded, as if her girls hadn't only shown up a minute earlier than he.

"You know my schedule is packed with parties, Vale. You should be happy that I squeezed y-" His smirk didn't disappear even when Sydney cut him off by redirecting her attention to the bartender who had slid five shots in their direction. He was now standing beside Sydney against the bar, and took two: one for himself, and one that he handed to Sienna. "Cheers?"

Connor was barely relieved when Vincent and Kelley finally piled into the town car and they were off to Sydney's apartment. They were still running late and even if the two cousins sitting next to him didn't have a care in the world, he wanted to be there on time. By now, he was sure that ten guys had already made advances on Sydney. It wouldn't be something new that Connor would have to deal with. He was used to his own brother getting with Sydney, despite knowing of his crush on their friend, but it still bothered him. He didn't think he was crazy to think that there was something there between he and Sydney, and he even thought that she acted like it sometimes too. It must have never been enough for her to actually make a move, since in the lifetime that they knew each other, it was always him trying to initiate something and her playing it off as a joke or just being "cute". Connor was resilient enough to never let that get him down though.

Almost as soon as they were admitted into the party, Vincent deserted him with Kelley. He was almost positive that it was to go find Sienna, but he wouldn't have been surprised if Vincent had finally thrown his hopes of getting back with her to the wind and was going to go seduce some "lucky" sophomore girl. Connor didn't mind Kelley, she could be fun sometimes when her crazy was toned down enough, but he felt awkward being alone with her. "I think I'm going to go find..." His voice trailed off as he received a text from Charlotte.

To: Charlotte
I just got here too so no drama that I know of... but we are at Syd's house. Wouldn't be surprised if we missed some soap opera worthy drama already ;).

By the time he looked up from his phone with the intentions of apologizing for getting sidetracked, Kelley was gone. He shouldn't have expected her to want to hang out with him any more than he wanted to hang out with her, but her leaving first certainly made things easier. Like most of the guests, Connor had decided to stop on the second floor of the townhouse first before moving up to the more lively, dance floor level. He was going to text Charlotte again to ask her where she was, but as he aimlessly moved through the crowd, he spotted her before a text was necessary. Luckily for him, Piper was pulling Brent Barclay away from the blonde. Connor didn't have any real problems with Brent, but he didn't like him either, and that distaste probably would have been enough of a deterrent for Connor to avoid Charlotte until she had finished speaking to Brent.

He took her appearance in quickly, but even a second of staring at her was enough to take in that she looked amazing. Charlotte had always possessed model-level beauty, even though she rarely, if ever, acknowledged that herself. Sometimes, Connor thought he took it for granted that the girl he called his best friend was so gorgeous, but the looks of admiration and more accurately, lust, always reminded him that Charlotte was grade A hot. "You look... amazing. Not that you don't look amazing normally, but... you know what I mean." Leave it to him to freak himself up over one of the girls he felt most comfortable around! Where did that come from? He tried to relate it to the fact that at that very moment, he had also spotted Sydney a few feet behind Charlotte at the bar. Charlotte didn't drink and she definitely was not friends with Sydney, but he couldn't think of any good excuse to trick her into going over there with him. "Wanna come say hi to Syd with me?" Okay, she definitely wouldn't "wanna". "Please?"

Kelley didn't get over her hangover until almost five o'clock, when she finally managed to leave Vincent's apartment. Her parents were oblivious (or maybe just tired) enough to believe that she really had went to school with Vincent that morning, and didn't put up a fight when she told them that she would be going to Sydney's party that night. As far as they knew, Sydney was the type of daughter that they wanted Kelley to be. She was poised, well spoken and polite. Her grandfather was well-respected in the New York community, and in their household, as he often hosted artists from George's record label on Saturday Night Live. They didn't know Sydney as the vindictive and heartless girl that many of her peers thought her to be, but at the same time, Kelley didn't really know her as that either. She and Sydney definitely weren't close friends, but they did know each other well. They attended the same grade school, often saw each other at elite functions that their parents dragged them to as kids, and more recently, through their mutual tie to Vincent. Kelley had always been aware of Sydney thinking herself to be higher than her, but because she rarely got involved with catty drama, she found it to be more pathetic than hurtful. Sydney might have been proclaimed Queen of Constance, but Kelley surely wasn't one of the peasants bowing down to her. As long as Sydney kept her snobby attitude to a minimum, the pair were usually good with avoiding real issues.

Even if she didn't plan on spending the night glued to the Queen Bee's side, Kelley wasn't going to reject an invitation that included an open bar. So, as soon as her family's strained and almost painfully silent dinner was over, she headed back to Vincent's house. Here, she was able to shower and get ready without having to deal with her parents attempting to force her to change after she stepped out of her room in an outfit that was too revealing. She thought it would be less stressful at Vincent's but as she worked on straightening her hair after showering, doing her makeup and getting dressed, he proved to be almost as annoying as her parents. The constant knocks and texts went unanswered because honestly, she didn't think that they needed to rush. When she went out, she normally didn't leave the house until eleven or twelve. It was barely nine o'clock and she didn't think that getting to Sydney's was that urgent. When Vincent gave his final knock and explained that Connor was anxiously waiting for them, it made more sense. His juvenile crush on Sydney was no secret to her... or anyone, probably. Connor was a sweet boy, but too nice for her taste. She didn't understand how someone like him, who had the potential to find a decent girl like Jane Lynch or Charlotte Buchanan, could settle for being a doormat to Sydney Vale, someone who he had virtually no chance with. A part of her considered sleeping with him just to prove to him that there were other girls out there that could satisfy many more needs than Sydney could, but even if she was used to mindless sex, she didn't think she could sleep with Connor. He just seemed so... young, even if he was almost a year older than her.

Vincent was right. She did look good, and when she finally appeared from his spare bedroom, she knew she did. Dressed in a black cutout dress and Jimmy Choo heels, Kelley already felt good enough to know that the night would be a success. She felt good enough that she wasn't even slightly bothered by Connor's apparent annoyance with her when she got into his car. Sydney didn't want him two years ago, she didn't want him last week, she didn't want him twenty minutes ago, and she sure as hell wasn't going to want him when they showed up. That's why, when they did get into Sydney's house, Kelley quickly detached herself from him. She did not want to get tangled up in the web of emotions she imagined pouring out when Sydney rejected him for the trillionth time. Instead, she headed towards the bar, in search of a nice, cold drink, but was almost just as satisfied when she spotted Piper and Brent along the way.

"My two favorite bitches!" she grinned as she approached them, conveniently plucking a glass of Bacardi white rum from the tray of a passing server. "Pipe, you are looking fucking fantastic, and you, my friend, look sexier than ever," she said as she ran a hand down Brent's chest. Kelley was unfiltered and crass enough to drive her parents crazy, and it often left people in social settings wondering if she was so wasted that she didn't remember to refine herself to adhere to the Upper East Side standards. A lot of the time, she was wasted, but even dead sober, Kelley was the girl cursing during a dinner party or acting way too flirty with someone's boyfriend. She just didn't care. It was too hard to be someone that she wasn't, and if that meant that she offended people along the way, oh well. Besides, Brent was looking good. Even if he was wearing that leather jacket that he seemed to sport every day, hot or cold out, he looked good. He was rough and tough, the boy that would give your father a heart attack if you brought him home. It was all the more reason for her to be attracted with him, and now she was wondering how she had went almost two months without sleeping with Brent. The two of them had somewhat of a no-strings-attached relationship going on, where for the past two years or so, they would engage in casual sex when they were both drunk enough. Brent always hooked her up with free weed and he was just a chill guy to be around, regardless of his bad reputation. She was glad that Piper didn't seem to mind him as much as many of the other girls did, too. "Why aren't you with your BFFs? I'm surprised that Miss Queen Bee didn't have you roped to her side with Paris Hilton and Beyonce tonight," she mocked, as she glanced back to Piper. Out of Jane and Sienna, Kelley definitely preferred the latter, but she didn't feel like she clicked with her as much as she did Piper.

Charlotte's smartass responses were just what Brent needed to bring himself out of the pit that dealing with his brother had put him in. With every sarcastic reaction she spat back at him, his smirk grew wider. For someone who had a reputation of being such a teacher's pet, Lottie knew how to be cheeky, and man, did he find that to be attractive. When she asserted that she and Connor were just friends, he was quick to create a comeback: Yeah, tell me that in five years when you two are married and you're sleeping next to me while he's on a business trip, because you're both too boring for your own good. Before he could get it out of his brain and say it out loud, Charlotte showed up. If it had been anyone else, he probably would have been annoyed that they cut in and let Charlotte get the last word in, but it was Piper and he liked her. Plus, he was expecting a response from her regarding his text about Jane. So, he allowed Piper to drag him away from Lottie, but not before mockingly blowing her a kiss when she sent him off.

When he and Piper were a good distance away from the rest of the crowd, he leaned back against a wall. He looked her up and down, before meeting her gaze with a small smile as she began to speak. She responded to his inquiry about Jane, but not in the way he wanted. Avoid her? Why did he suddenly need to avoid the girl that had essentially kept his family afloat for a few months. Brent was well-aware of Jane's body image issues but he didn't pity her. She was filthy rich, living a life that people literally dreamed of having. Poor her, for thinking that her one hundred pound body wasn't quite as skinny as Taylor Swift's. He wanted to roll his eyes simply at the thought of it. Brent was ignorant to the pain and difficulties that an eating disorder brought, and like much of the world, brushed Jane's issues off as vanity. Even if he did want to take her seriously and feel guilty for fueling her illness, he needed the money too badly to let his conscious get the best of him. "She owes me money, Pipe." It wasn't true. Whenever Jane bought from him, she paid upfront and never even flinched when he upped the price of a single pill to a ridiculous amount. Even if she didn't really have debt to him, he still did feel like she owed him her business.

He didn't think that Piper would understand what he was going through though. She probably wasn't as wealthy as Jane, but Piper surely had her own nice sized trust fund waiting for her. She was a cool girl, but she wouldn't... she couldn't... understand what it felt like to be living in his shoes. "I'll play it cool tonight, but you've got to get her to hang out with us sometime this week unless you wanna cough up the cash for her." His smirk should have signified that he wasn't being serious. He wouldn't really ask Piper for money. Not because he wasn't sure that she had it, but because they actually were friends. Besides, it wasn't just the money that he wanted from Jane. He could have asked her for a couple hundred dollars and gotten it within a day, but he felt like he needed her to be addicted. He needed her to be sick so that he could always rely on her for business, since it was becoming more and more apparent to him that his brother wasn't going to do anything to help their family out.

From behind Piper, he watched Kelley Hadley approach them, his smile only growing bigger when she joined their group. In true Kelley fashion, she didn't hesitate to blurt out the first thing on her mind. Just as she claimed him to be looking sexy, she was too. She always looked good though. After not seeing her for most of the summer, he was glad that the blonde was making an appearance at Sydney's. It was one more person to help him feel less stressed out, and unlike Piper and Lottie, Kelley could help him physically feel less stressed too. As the two girls spoke, he dug through his pocket, feeling pills and small bags, before finding a dime bag of weed. He was sure that Piper wouldn't want to smoke, but Kelley was always willing to do... well, anything. "Pipe's going to ditch us for some pansy Fordham Prep guys anyway, so shall I roll one for us?" he looked to the blonde as he waved the small plastic bag in the air.

"Hell if I should know babo!" Bell sighed and calmed herself, she was a bit embarrassed about her actions but her emotions just took control for a second but she got them back under control. Isabela has went through this same scene many times before with her best friend. A dream would pop up, nonsense will spew out from the hole on her face, emotions are exchanged then she apologizes and everything goes back to normal but these little silly things are happening less often since she is learning how to control her emotional outbreaks. After shooing away a couple that wanted to snog right beside the two, Bell turned back around to face Minho.

"Aish, I'm sorry bro, I'm good now but umm-" she trailed off her eyes wondering around as her face bared a sheepish expression. " I don't know why you flew off or where too, all I know is that you saw another bird and was gone."

Her face was now facing the side as she acted innocent, her lips wrapped around her straw ingesting the sugary coldness. " It was stupid, forget about it I'm over it." she nodded to herself matter of factly before planting herself next to Lee rather eagerly with an all to familiar twinkle in her eye.

"So, how is Jin? Did she eat this morning? When are you two coming over, mum's been kinda bugging me about it, well dad too." Bell stopped for a second a small smile making it's way across her lips.

"Well everyone at home is bugging me about it honestly." she chuckled leaning her head on her brothers shoulder. "I missed you, I mean I saw you over summer break but still."

Bella stood like that for a while before lifting her head slightly enough to look at Minho. " So, Anything new in life? Any boys I should now about and interrogate?" she teased honestly wanting to know.

After the morning haggle was over and done with, Bell had the afternoon to herself. She invited Minho to go grab some food and they do now she was over his house, planning their evening events. Bella knew of Sydney's party and really couldn't care much for it but Sienna was going to go and she wanted to see her friend that she hadn't gotten to see this morning. Plus she was sure Kelley was going to be there too but Bell wanted to spend time with two of the most precious people in her life.

Bella sat on the floor of Minho's room with little Jin sitting in between her legs as she brushed through her beautiful silky hair. "Dangsin eun aleumdaun heeo jin eul" Isabela hoped she said it right, she was still picking up new words here and there from both Minho and Hyojin that she didn't know before. Bell smiled when Hyojin thanked her but then turned around and started to play with her hair.

" Haha, my hairs isn't as yours but I try squirt." she patted the child on the head affectionately before pecking her forehead and letting her continue to mess with her hair.

"So Min, you know how Sydney has her party today right? I was wondering if you wanted to do some crashing of the party." Bell slightly laughed at how she said it before hugging the cute little Hyojin. " There's a carnival in town, we can take little Jin here for a bit until she gets tired out then crash that party, looking fabulous of course. " she waited for Lee's response as Jin proceeded to pinch her cheeks and Bell did the same but rather soft.

Piper crossed her arms over her chest and shifted her weight to one leg. "I doubt filthy rich Jane owes you money. You must think my IQ is in the single digits." She chuckled the last part. She knew Jane, and if the girl wanted something she would drop any amount of money on it. No matter the cost. The model felt some relief when he agreed to leave poor Jane alone for tonight, but was a little thrown off by his sudden proposal. Sometimes Piper forgot she didn't tell him her true financial state. It took everything in her not to laugh of the suggestion. One of her paychecks was probably the same amount as a single pill that he charged Jane. "Yeah, I wouldn't count on seeing her again. Besides I am technically paying you. Not just anyone can be blessed with my presence." The red head just went with joke instead of making it obvious she didn't have that kind of money.

Just as she was about to thank him, Kelley came over. Piper and Kelley have been friends since Sophomore year and really hit it off ever since. She was a fun person to be around and her and Piper really got along. Plus they both had a thing for flirting. It made for a great time at social events. "Thank you, you look amazing as well." Piper responded to her good friend. It didn't take long for Piper to notice the sexual tension between her two friends. Honestly did everyone hook up with everyone at the two sister schools? Piper preferred to date outside of the two schools. Though that could change this year. Who knows. "Huh? Oh I'm not with them right now because one I hate Sydney, and two ever since this past summer Sienna and Sydney get all uptight when Vincent is around. It's strange." When she finished her sentence, Piper noticed one of the boys from Fordham looking at her again. He was just her type physically. Tall, great hair, and a toned build. He almost looked like he was a swimmer. She heard Brent say something and she had to break eye contact with her hookup for the night.

"They aren't pansies Brent. They just aren't all doom and gloom like you." Piper stuck her tongue out as she teased her friend. Honestly the alcohol was starting to take affect so she was doing some things that weren't very characteristic of her. "Now you two use protection all right? Safe sex is the only sex." Piper pointed her empty shot glass at her two friends before smiling. "Now I'm off, so have fun. And Kelley I'll see you in class tomorrow. Though I will probably have a hang over so don't yell around me." Piper waved to both of her friends before leaving them to do whatever it was Brent said earlier.

Piper headed towards the guy she was staring at earlier and smiled once she stood in front of him. "You've been looking at me since I got here you know?" Piper grinned. "So do you want dance or just keep staring?" She bit her lower lip as she looked up at the handsome student. The guy just laughed and took Piper's hand and lead her to the dance floor. This was the type of night she was looking for. Not dealing with any drama, just having fun.

About several songs in, Piper somehow ended up in one of the many bathrooms making out with the boy she had been dancing with. It wasn't the most romantic place, but Sydney would flip out if Piper had used one of her rooms then she wouldn't hear the end of it. Almost a half hour passed and Piper exited the bathroom feeling recharged. it really has been too long since she was able to have sex. like stated before the bathroom wasn't the best place, but oh well. You win some you lose some. She left her phone number with her hookup and headed back to the bar. She didn't see any of her friends around, so she just took another shot by herself. Sure she could've went to go look for them, but at this point she didn't exactly care. She just sat at the bar, that was until her phone vibrated. Putting her drink down, Piper looked to see who it was. It was Thomas. She opened the text, and quickly jumped up as she read it. She has to go.

Piper stumbled out of the stool she was on and quickly headed towards the elevator to go back to the lobby. She couldn't have reached outside any faster. She looked around once on the curve to see if there were any taxis but of course there weren't any. She could call but how long would that take? Taking her chances, she called for a cab to come pick her up around the corner. Luckily for her, the driver clearly noticed the zip code, and arrived in fifth-teen minutes. She gave the man her address and she was gone. She could've informed someone that she was leaving, but the text her brother sent her had her so worried she wasn't really thinking too clearly.

Once she arrived at her apartment, she took her heels off so she could run or more accurately stumble up the stairs to her door. She practically burst through the door and did the same to her brother's room. There she saw Thomas all bloody with an already forming black eye. "My god what happened to you?!" Piper dropped her thing on the floor and knelt before her brother to check the wounds on his face. "I just went to the corner store and some guys jumped me." Thomas mumbled as he averted eye contact with his older sister. "What the hell were you thinking? You know where we live you can't just go out at night." Piper scolded. "What were you looking for?" She needed to know what made him take such a huge risk. "Amy asked me to get her some candy." Piper almost blew up when she heard the reason her brother literally put himself in danger. For Amy? Piper sighed and rolled her eyes. Standing up, she grabbed her brother's hand and lead him to the bathroom so she could disinfect his wounds. She wouldn't do it now, but Amy would definitely hear from her when she saw her in the morning.

"Take your shirt off." Piper instructed as she needed to see if he possibly had any broken ribs. He did have some bruising on his torso, but nothing that was protruding. That doesn't mean he couldn't have a fracture. "I'll take you to the doctor in the morning to make sure everything is all right. Do you feel nauseous or hear in ringing?" She questioned. "No, I'm fine." Good so no concussion. "Listen to me, don't you ever do this again okay? You don't need to please Amy that much that you put yourself at rick. Okay?" Piper looked her brother in his eyes making sure he got her point. He just wordlessly nodded his head. Piper smiled and gave her brother a tentative hug. "Now let's go to sleep. I'm going to really feel that alcohol in a couple of hours." For the first time her brother grinned a little so it soothed Piper some.

Piper never failed to amuse Kelley. She seemed so authentic, and while she could be much more poised than Kelley, she was always so real when they were hanging out. It was always just fun, with no drama involved, but then again, that was probably because they were extremely close. Piper belonged in Sydney's group, whether she wanted to admit it or not, and Kelley didn't. She could never keep herself refined to some cookie cutter form of who she was expected to be, just to fit in. She and Sydney didn't get along that much more than she and Piper did, but Piper's desire and ability to be a controlled and seemingly flawless girl was what allowed her to be in Sydney's group.

She watched Piper until she was swallowed by the crowd, before turning back to Brent, who held a bag of weed in his hand. "Where the fuck are we supposed to smoke that?" Kelley had no problem smoking in her own house when her parents weren't home, but even she didn't know if they could get away with doing it in Sydney Vale's house. She wasn't considering that it was rude to do, or illegal at that, but she really wasn't sure where they could do it without being disturbed. The first three floors of the house were crowded with people, and Kelley imagined that Sydney's mother and grandfather, among house staff, were going to be upstairs. It was worth the risk, though, and even if Brent got thrown out, she doubted that she would. That was one of the many perks of being a pretty blonde girl in the Upper East Side. The wild side of her was often overlooked by people who didn't know her well enough, and she was accepted as being another kid to some CEO or millionaire.

She blamed it on her brain not working well enough for being too sober, but it took her ten minutes to realize that Sydney's apartment had access to a private roof. How had she not thought of that! "Meet me on the roof, I need to get a drink first," she said, giving Brent a devious grin as she turned away from him. At the bar, she ordered a glass of vanilla vodka. When the bartender questioned whether she meant a shot of vodka, and not a glass, she just laughed it off. "I didn't stutter, did I?" she questioned seriously, though she offered him a flirty smile. It was all it took, and a couple of minutes later, she was stepping onto the rooftop deck with a glass of alcohol in hand. The view of Central Park, the crisp but not too cool air, and the ambiance of the space were beautiful in itself, but what Kelley appreciated the most was the smell of lit marijuana. "Really, you couldn't wait five minutes for me before lighting up?" she teased, opting to sit on his lap instead of the chair next to him.

Within twenty minutes, his bag of weed and her glass of alcohol were finished, their clothes were scattered on the ground around them, and as Piper had directed, an empty Trojan wrapper lay on the ground. His phone going off a couple of times was what ruined their moment together, but Kelley was drunk enough that she was okay with him hurrying downstairs after he made sure she dressed herself properly. She remained alone on the roof with a satisfied smirk on her face for another couple of minutes before deciding to rejoin the party. She didn't know where Brent had run off too, but she didn't care very much either. When it came to Brent, Kelley was completely happy with their casual relationship. It was so easy and she felt like it benefited her just as much as it did him. When she returned to the party and was unable to find him or Piper, she decided to text a friend that she hadn't seen all night.

To: Isabela
Bitch where are you???? I think Jane wants to hu with both of us tn!!!!!

Her relationship with Bella was interesting. Nothing had ever happened between them, despite Kelley sometimes considering it, but she also was sure that they had the potential to be more than just friends. They clicked and at least in Kelley's opinion, it was so easy for the two of them to just have fun together. Plus, she was one of the people who could tolerate Kelley's crude and sarcastic sense of humor.

Brent was more than willing to take Kelley's direction and meet her on the roof, because he knew where that was going. They would smoke a joint or two, taint their blood with unhealthy amounts of alcohol, and end up completely naked in whatever private space they could find, until a maid or another party guest interrupted them. Everything went according to that plan tonight, expect the ending. After everything was finished and he lay on the cool roof ground, breathing heavily, with Kelley on top of him, it was the nonstop buzzing that forced him away from her. Even if he wasn't in love with Kelley and their sex wasn't romance, there was passion there and it was just natural with her. After hanging out with her so much, he doubted that he would ever actually want a real relationship if there were girls like her out there. It seemed so much more preferable to have a girl who was a genuine friend coupled with a friend with benefits, rather than a girlfriend who could give him those same benefits, but expect some sort of connection in return. Brent didn't do emotions like that. He didn't think he could ever get mushy and confess his feelings for anyone, or have to deal with being tied down to a specific person. Like with Kelley, there were no protests or bitter complaints when he gently pushed her off of him. "I have to run downstairs to give something to someone," he mumbled after reading the texts he had received. Most were from Saint Jude's guys asking him if he was there to sell them weed, and there were a few from his brother telling him to bring back pizza... no, tacos, when he returned home. He responded to the first group of texts positively but opted to leave the ones from his brother unanswered.

Once he was fully clothed, he looked back at Kelley, naked and disheveled hair, and couldn't help but to grin. How the hell he had managed to get a girl as hot as her to be friends with him like this was beyond him, but he knew he was lucky. He helped her put on her clothes before heading towards the stairway entrance. "I hope I see you before you pass out, but if I don't, I'll see you tomorrow, alright? And you better not fucking try to drive home tonight. One DUI is enough, Princess," he smirked as he looked back towards her, pausing for an extra moment to admire her figure again before returning downstairs.

It took fifteen minutes for the bag he came in with to be empty, aside from a small bag of Ritalin pills. He would normally make seventy-five bucks or so off of the ten pills, but he knew that if Jane was the same Jane he sold to months ago, he could be leaving with hundreds of dollars at the very least. He had promised Piper that he wouldn't bother the heiress for the night but she would forgive him. She would forgive him if she knew how badly he needed the money, he decided, as he continued on his path towards the bar, where he had (unsurprisingly) spotted the brunette moments before. She was conversing with a blonde that Brent didn't recognize by name. She looked familiar, as he had probably red about her online due to her career, but Brent wasn't into pop culture. He simply assumed that he recognized her face from seeing her at parties, but never actually speaking to her. Not knowing her didn't keep him from approaching the two girls with a small smile on his face. There was an open seat next to Jane, but he didn't sit down. He stood next to her, ordered a shot of whiskey, and rested an arm against the bar top. "Well, if it isn't Miss Jane Lynch. Who would've guessed you would be here tonight?" It was meant to be sarcastic, since she was Sydney's best friend, but it did make sense. Aside from the small snippets of information he had gotten out of Piper over the summer, he knew little of Jane's whereabouts, and didn't know she was back home until very recently. "Brent Barclay, a friend of Jane's," he said, his smile growing slightly as he reached past Jane and extended a hand to Hailey.

His next move was mean, but Brent wasn't in his business to make friends. He pulled the bag of pills out of his pocket, placed them on the counter and pushed them towards Jane. It didn't bother him that Hailey was standing right there, and really, that was exactly why he had done it. He wanted Jane to know that he was serious and wasn't going to take 'no' for an answer. At least not sitting down. No, if she tried to pull that crap where she claimed she was over her pill popping days, he would simply make sure that everyone knew that those days did exist. He didn't want it to get to that point, but Brent wasn't above blackmail, and he hoped that the small act in front of Hailey would be enough to prove that to Jane. "Welcome back."

Sienna's heart had been thudding loudly in her ears ever since she and Vincent had been nearly about to kiss. The interruption, though unwanted, left her with heated cheeks and the thunderous sound of her heart trying to beat its way out of her chest. She had a feeling where the night could have gone - they could have very well just went back to her place or his, and she would have let it happen. Would have surrendered despite the warning bells going off in her head and the fact that she would have to answer to her friends the next day about why she was running late to school or where she had been. She would have taken the risk and not given a damn about what anyone else had said. However, they had been interrupted from doing anything too scandalous in Sydney's elevator and her skin was so heated that the drop in temperature outside had her gasping in surprise. Despite her own nervousness and the voice in her head going a mile a minute in her head, she couldn't help but press herself closer to Vincent on their journey to the diner, hand still clasping his.

When they got to the diner and placed their order, the anxiety that their encounter with Sydney had left him with disappeared. He was sitting across from the most beautiful girl in the world and there was nothing that he could complain about. The diner wasn't the nicest restaurant he could have taken her to, and certainly not the most romantic, but they didn't need that. His relationship with her was far past the stage of trying to impress one another. Even though Vincent knew that chivalry was going to be necessary if he ever got the chance to win her back, he wasn't trying to be anyone but himself tonight, and that was easy with Sienna.

Once there, they fell into a sort of easy chatter, easy only in the sense that after placing their orders a veil had been lifted. It was still different, considering the time apart from one another, but Sienna could only smile across the table from him, a genuine and wide one. "I like this," she admitted, fiddling with her hands before her. "I miss this. Just us...hanging out." Although he had originally only suggested the diner for milkshakes, his appetite had gotten the best of him and he ordered a burger and fries as well. The fries had come out first, and he tossed a few into his mouth as she claimed that she missed the two of them hanging out like this. It brought a smile to his face quicker than he would have liked, but he was relaxed enough to not care about seeming to eager. He missed this too, being able to hang out - even in a non-romantic way. Things with them would never be the same as it was before they dated or while they dated, but tonight was coming close to it. If he couldn't have her as a girlfriend, he wanted to at least be friends with her and be able to do things like this.

Sienna could only grin stupidly at the relaxed expression on Vincent's face. More than anything - more than the late night game sessions, them making out, or even those times where they could just cuddle up to some action film - she missed that. The smile on his face, the easygoing nature she had grown up with. She did not get to see it often when they were on either St. Jude's campus or Constance's. Hell, even when he was with friends sometimes and she would see him from afar, this peacefulness in his countenance wasn't always present and she couldn't help the rush of elation that flood through her. She sipped at her strawberry-banana milkshake, immediately recalling why it was her favorite.

"Yeah, I miss it too," he replied honestly, though the smile on his face quickly transformed into a smirk at her next remark. The admittance had her cheeks feeling hotter than ever and in an attempt to not blabber anything else out, she decided to add playfully, "Though I bet I can still kick your ass in Killzone." The game she was referencing was an old shooting game Sienna played with her brothers and Vincent, the two of them always winding up on opposing teams. She still played, though those times with him and her two favorite guys were definitely some of her favorite memories. "Yeah, right. Me and Ricardo were a powerhouse back then, and while you were wasting your time on tour, I was breaking out that old Play Station," he laughed. If he wasn't so happy to just be there, with her, recollecting like that on all of their good times would have stung. Now, he was hopeful that maybe they wouldn't have to miss those times anymore. Maybe they could start doing this again. "I'll challenge you tonight, if you really want me to prove it to you," he said, only breaking his stare towards her when the waiter approached with their food.

Chuckling at the shared memory, she reached over and stole a fry while retorting, "Oh yeah, how could I forget the 'powerhouse duo?'" She even used her fingers to gesture the over-exaggeration of the phrase, popping the fry into her mouth soon after. "Let's be real, you and I both know Ricky carried most of the weight back then and for the record..." She leaned a bit closer as if it were a secret. "I am always down for a game, even when I was on tour."

Before either could say another word, the waiter came back again, this time with Vince's burger. Sienna wasn't hungry, but she was more than willing to steal more fries from Vincent. She was just compulsive like that. "Anything else?" The redhead male asked and Sienna gave Vincent a look before cheesing to the waiter. "Actually, could we bag all of this up?" She turned back to Vincent with a competitive smirk. "Apparently, I need to teach some people a lesson." Her smirk only formed into a grin when Vincent replied, "Yeah, you're going to need to teach yourself a lesson on why you should never challenge a professional."

Rolling her eyes to Vincent's challenge, Sienna prepared herself to leave with him, checking her phone to see that Esmee was on her way home and inquiring where Sienna was. Jane was obviously drunk as fuck and Sydney messaged her, but Sia was having too much fun and actually enjoying herself to allow the queen bee to ruin her night. Opting to ignore Sydney, Sienna turned her phone on silent as they headed out. Hailing a cab wasn't that much of a hassle and before she knew it, they were in front of Vincent's building. And that was when Sienna's heartbeat picked up once more. Vincent brought girls back to his apartment very frequently, but he never felt out of his element. His apartment was his bachelor pad and even if he was bringing back some beautiful model that he had met at a night club, his heart never pushed against his rib cage like it was doing now. Vincent was good at one night stands and talking a girl into sleeping with him. When morning came, they would go on their separate ways and the most he had to worry about was the pesky texts he would get over the next couple of days from her, asking when he would treat her to the dinner he had promised. It wasn't like that at all with Sienna. It was so much more complicated and Vincent knew that if he went through with what his body was telling him to do, he might end up regretting it come morning.

She had been here a few times before, once when his parents had bought it for him and threw a housewarming party. Cynthia had made it clear that Sienna couldn't avoid the event and while she sulked, she couldn't help but smile at Colette's emotional self practically sobbing over her baby boy "growing up." It made her squeeze Vincent's hand lightly, a small smile tugging at the corner of her mouth. The other times she had been here...not all of those had been innocent. Those were the surprising nights when Vincent would text her at some party or bar, and Sienna would tell herself she didn't care - that she couldn't ignore him. But she didn't...she never could. The last time she had been here alone with him...the memories of slick skin sliding against slick skin, warm breath mingling, hands gripping at hair and soft moans in the quiet air of the night - they all rushed back to her and Sienna gulped quietly when they stepped onto the elevator.

Just video games, she reminded herself mentally. We're just gonna hang out and play video games. It'll be fun. Her attempts at trying to convince herself these things were not truly successful as her nerves were still dancing on end by the time they made it up to his place. Once the door was opened, however, and Sienna was inside first, she looked back at Vincent in silence. Screw the games, was the only thought in her head before she rushed at Vincent, lips pressing urgently against his and hands coming up to grip at his hair. They could pretend to just hang out some other time.

As he shut the door behind them, he decided that he would try to get through video games without pressing his lips to hers. He had fought the urge to grab her hand at the diner, or slip his under the table to squeeze her knee, and he could do it again, he hoped. He was going to comment on how both of them had had to pretend this night never happened if their moms asked, since at least his would be enthusiastic enough to hope that something more than just video games had happened. But, the playful remark would have to wait, because she beat him to the chase that he had been putting off all night. He was caught off guard at the sudden advance, but recovered quickly, pushing her back against the wall and returning the kiss in a move that suggested he had been waiting for this moment all night. His hands found their way to her waist and even though he was more than excited to just be making out with her, both of them knew it wasn't going to end there.

By the time they ended up in his bed, he was feeling comfortable enough to peel her eyes away from her body for a moment to remark, "And for the record, you forfeited the video game challenge, so that's an automatic win for me." That win was much less important to how lucky he was feeling already, but he couldn't resist reminding her of it. The laugh burst forth through her lips, low and coming from deep within, eyes shining with want and amusement. "Just shut up and kiss me, asshole," she replied and pulled him back down to her, willing the night to take its time in bringing forth the harsh rays of the morning and reality.

As soon as the last bell of the day rang, Sienna was more than grateful to be getting out of Constance. While the year had only truly begun today, all of her teachers decided that it was imperative to stress their students out immediately. So, Mrs. Ellsworth assigned them six different readings, and Mr. Darcy assigned them an online assignment due by Monday at midnight. Not to mention the fact that she had spent the majority of the day sending out invites to Hailey's Saturday birthday party, confirming her own photo shoot, and trying to even decide what she was going to wear. It seemed that the weekend was going to be spent with her getting little sleep, though she couldn't complain. The reminder of her evening activities, in the form of a few hickeys she had to cover up in a hurry, had her grinning to herself secretly all day, despite Sydney's mood.

Once the morning had come, Sienna had hurried home from Vincent's place, purposefully snatching up one of his jerseys as a source of warmth despite the jumper from last night. It had been a reluctant wake-up, what with her trying to press herself closer to Vincent and wanting to ignore her phone. However, Esmee had been persistent. Luckily for her, one of their drivers was waiting outside and rushed her home. The shower had been a brief affair and with barely any time to decide what to do with her hair, Sienna twisted the long locks into a classy French braid, draping the end over her shoulder. Her uniform was definitely her most casual look and a very light makeup for her more tired days was what she fixed herself up with before heading off to school with Hailey and Esmee. Again, walking was not an option as she didn't want them or herself to be late, especially not on the first day. And what a day it had been!

Now that it was over, she was ready to get her weekend started and the first step to that was getting with her favorite girls. She found Esmee easily and the sisters walked down the bustling hallway, Sienna texting her friends. All of the students were buzzing about an actual black light party and their plans for the weekend, their chattering a nice background as Sienna sent her last text, a small smile playing at the corners of her mouth.

To: Jane

Piper didn't sleep too well last night. She was so worried that her brother could have a broken bone somewhere. On top of that she had to figure out a way to pay for his medical visit. The redhead stared up at her ceiling thinking about everything that was coming up this semester. "Fuck!" Piper shot up as she suddenly membered. It was her turn to host her 'cliques' annual party. How could she forget? Piper clamored out of bed, falling in the process, and looked at her calendar. "This has got to be a joke right?" Ignoring her body aches and pain coupled with the headache she had from how much she drunk last night, Piper couldn't believe she only had till next week. "How am I going to get that type of money?" Just as she made it to her feet, she heard a knock on the door and her brother walk in.

"Are you taking me to the doctor? If so you know you don't have to. I'm fine. It's the first week of classes, you should leave a good impression." Thomas spoke with a quizzical look at his sister's disheveled appearance. "Nonsense. I'll use what I have left from my modeling jobs to pay for your visit don't worry about it. Just give me a sec to get ready." Piper forced her brother out of her room and practically slammed the door in his face. Especially after Sydney's elaborate party there was no way Piper could've pulled something off like that. She needed money and she needed it fast. Piper got herself together and was headed out the door when she ran into Amy.

"Thomas go on ahead I need to talk to Amy." Thomas listened to his sister, knowing that whatever she was going to say wasn't going to be too lovely. "Have you gone mad? Why would you send him out so late at night?" Piper crossed her arms over her chest as she waited for the older woman to reply. "I-I'm so sorry I didn't think it through. I didn't mean for that to happen Piper." Amy wasn't really that bad of a foster mother, and Piper knew she didn't mean any harm in sending Thomas out, but the model wasn't the most level headed when it came to Amy. "Forget it I'm not the one who needs an apology." Piper slammed the door to the apartment as if to prove her point.

After practically draining her account to pay for her brother's x-ray, which turns out his wrist is broken, Piper missed her first day of school. After getting her brother back home, her phone buzzed. It was from Sienna. The last thing Piper felt like doing was hanging around Jane and Sienna to go shopping. Though yoga did sound nice, Piper needed to figure out what to do with her party.

To Sienna:
Sorry, I can't meet today. I have to look after my brother today, but I can do the gig tomorrow. Thanks for letting me know ^^

To Sebastian:
Hey I am doing a job tomorrow for Young&Reckless are you going to be there?

Really Piper was thankful for the modeling gig Sienna sent her way. Hopefully this money can help her throw a semi-decent party. Maybe Dustin will have some good ideas? He was a jokester but he had his moments.

To Dustin:
Hey! So I have to throw a party next weekend, do you have any good ideas? Please I need some advice!

Just as she hit send, she got a text from Brent. Piper couldn't help but scoff as she read what was on her screen. Is he serious? More than likely Sydney confiscated whatever drugs he was selling last night. How the hell was she going to get her hands on that? Did he think Sydney and Piper were besties and she could just walk up to her and ask? "Does he even listen to me when I talk?" Piper mumbled as she decided to text him back.

To Brent:
Does it look like I can just walk up to Sydney and ask for your drugs back? How do you propose I get them? But I am in a little crisis right now, so if you help me then I'll help you. Let's meet at dinner and we can discuss it further. Where do you want to meet?

To Kelley:
Did you have some fun last night? You know there is another party tomorrow so I hope you aren't too worn out.

Looking at the time, Piper should probably meet Brent soon. She doesn't want to end up like her brother so she shouldn't stay out too late. Plus she was curious about what Brent did to garner Sydney's attention. Hopefully he didn't approach Jane, so it was good that she met him.

Vincent never struggled in school. He wasn't incredibly intelligent but he knew how to put the brains that he did have, coupled with his charm, to work in his benefit in the classroom. Teachers found him to be respectful yet sociable, his assignments always came in on time, and his work on the lacrosse field made him a good face for the school to have around. He was never bullied, had many friends, and just generally felt comfortable on the Saint Jude's campus. There were people who he didn't necessarily like, with Sebastian Huntington being the most prominent name on that list, but he didn't care enough about those people to actively dislike them either. Sebastian was the only person that that was debatable, though. Vincent didn't want to care about his ex-best friend now that he knew he was some bisexual freak, who probably wanted to fuck him ever since they were kids. He wanted to think that was true, and that he could genuine be disgusted enough to completely disown the guy. But he wasn't. Like with Sienna, there was a part of Vincent that wanted things with Sebastian to go back to how they were growing up.

Thoughts of Sienna clouded his mind all day, and probably assisted in his mood being higher than normal. He still couldn't believe that last night had really happened. He had effectively hung out with her and slept with her in one night, out of no where, and to top it off, they left it on a good note. There was no yelling or screaming about how things could have stayed this way if he hadn't slept with Sydney, and until Vincent was reminded of last night's party through chatter on campus, he had managed to erase Sydney from his thoughts. He wished it could have stayed that way forever, since thinking of Sydney again brought on a mix of feelings. He felt guilty for leaving her party early, for walking in on her with Sienna attached to his side, for not apologizing. He was confused about what he felt towards Sydney. He didn't love her like he loved Sienna, but she also wasn't just some expendable girl he slept with on occasion. There was nervousness mixed into his emotions too, for he knew that she would be almost as pissed at him as she would be at Sienna. But hidden in the mix was anger as well. He was angry at himself for sleeping with Sydney years ago, and for continuing to do so up until this summer. If he had never done that, or if he had left it at one time, maybe he and Sienna could have had last night's energy for their entire high school career. It wasn't Sydney's fault that he had come onto her years ago, but he wished it had been. Or, at the very least, he wished that even now he could just completely let go of her and not care about how she felt. Last night had been amazing in terms of his development with Sienna, but he had no idea where he had left himself with Sydney, and he wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing.

There was a lacrosse meeting after school, but since the real season started in the spring, it was brief and only discussed the tournaments and scrimmages they would be playing in over the fall and winter. He was out of there by three-thirty, and had returned to his apartment by four. A text from his mother confirmed that she was still coming into the city tonight, and that he needed to meet him at his aunt's new restaurant by seven-thirty. It took him less than half-an-hour to change out of his uniform and into a new outfit, so in honor of Sienna, he relaxed on the couch and put on Killzone. Just in case they did end up playing videogames in the near future, he needed to make sure he would undoubtedly kick her ass. As he waited for the game to load, he replied to the messages he hadn't seen earlier.

To: Sienna
I can agree with the first part but not so sure the second part will ever happen. I'm always up for a round 2 though. Brandon Evans? lol let's just say he learned from the best aka don't let Esmee near him

To: Sienna
I'd say let's go for a second night tonight but my mom's sleeping over I think lmao. I mean I don't think she'd mind but....

To: Sienna
Come to dinner tonight though or are you hanging out with Sydney?

To: Kelley
Ur coming to dinner tn with me and my mom

When Sydney stepped out of the shower, she had nearly forgotten about her plea for Connor to come over. On a regular day, she would have been glad that he "was in Brooklyn @ an art gallery" with his mom, and would have reassured him that no, he didn't have to catch the next subway back to come be with her. The hot shower had worked its magic and had stopped her from crying for the time being, but that text pushed her right back into the emotional state. She was so used to have Jane and Connor at her beck and call, that she didn't know how to react to both of them being unavailable when she was in such a rare state of emotional vulnerability.

Unlike Sienna, she didn't have a sister who doubled as her best friend to run home to. She did not have a father to call on speed dial, who would drop everything and leave an important meeting to come check on his little girl. Her mother couldn't be considered a stay-at-home mom who was available for girl talks every hour of the day, because while she was unemployed, she was rarely home. In fact, when Sydney and Alice were speaking on a real and deep level, it was usually Alice who was doing the crying and Sydney the comforting. That left her without even the distant mother-daughter relationship that Jane got to have with her own mom, because Sydney was sure that if she called her mother up right now, she would be at some risque bar taking shots with guys twenty years her junior. Sydney had minions that she could have called and demanded they come be by her side, but she didn't want that. She had purposely avoided having many friends outside of her close circle that she really trusted, because being friendly to everyone wasn't her thing. She didn't have anyone like Charlotte, who she was good friends with but not best friends with, and could actually trust. The closest person to that, actually, would probably have been Charlotte's sister, but Sydney wasn't going to go there. She didn't want anyone to know that this was hurting her.

She changed into pajamas and tossed her hair into a careless messy bun before returning to bed. She had no plans to leave the house for the rest of the night and was considering staying in bed for the rest of her life, too. Earlier, she had been confident that she could hold her head high and pretend like the Vincent rumor was just another feeble attempt at someone trying to steal her throne. Maybe she could pass it off as that. Vincent had told Sienna the truth, but that doesn't mean he was going to confirm it to everyone else. Still, especially in her overly-emotional state, her melodramatic woe is me side was telling her that her reputation had been shattered and there was no point in ever showing her face again. Going to Hailey's party was out of the question at least. Even though her phone was blowing up with messages, none of them were from anyone that she actually cared about, and she left them all unanswered. She didn't even know how to respond to them... if she was going to be honest now that she had a chance to, or if she would sink back into denial.

The Vale's weren't frivolous when it came to hiring house staff. Sydney was usually the only one home and aside from a part time house keeper and the chef, they didn't need their home filled with strangers unless they were throwing an event. It was just her luck that tonight, she was completely alone, just when she needed someone to cook her brownies and bring her a martini. It wouldn't have been that difficult for her to slip out of bed and do it herself, but she was pitying herself and didn't think that in this state she needed to do anything. So, she dialed her doorman's number and after a brief conversation, convinced him to bring the pizza that she would soon be ordering, up to her apartment and into room as soon as it got there. When there was a knock on her bedroom door ten minutes, she wiped her eyes dry and ordered them to come in. Her mood had perked up slightly, just because the pizza was here sooner than she expected, but when the door opened, her face and her heart dropped.

Vincent and Kelley?

-x-

Vincent had been at the Vale apartment only an hour or two before and after Sydney's cheek kiss, had no intentions of returning any time soon. That was the plan, until he had returned to his apartment and was in the middle of a Killzone session again, when his phone started blowing up. He hadn't thought much of the snapchat that Sydney posted, but when he was receiving a message a minute about how he was "the man" for banging Sydney Vale, he assumed that was what everyone was referring to. He didn't think Sydney was crazy enough to tell people that they had just hooked up... was she? A few confused texts later, and one of his lacrosse buddies sent him a screenshot of the Tweet. He then he found the text that he had somehow missed from Sienna, and it made more sense. She was pissed off that he hung out with Sydney, and as he rewatched the snap, he guessed that he could see why. It didn't look as innocent as it really was, and after their perfect night together, he understood that it looked bad on his part. Sienna must have finally cracked and told someone about Sydney being the one he cheated with, and now all hell was breaking loose. The entire Upper East Side knew, or at least speculated, what had happened.

Vincent was completely fucked. He knew from the start that it was wrong of him to expect Sienna to keep that secret when it was only being kept to protect him and Sydney, the two people who screwed her over. And, he knew that it was wrong of him to tell Sienna the truth without giving Sydney a chance to do the same first, or at least at some point over the last couple of years. The situation was destined to fall apart at some point, but why the hell did it have to be now? He had to make this right, but he had no idea how. There was no way that he was going to dinner anymore with his mother, but he only had a chance to text her that before Kelley showed up at his apartment.

Even her light-hearted "let me in, bitch!" when she realized that he locked the front door, couldn't break the wave of panic he was feeling. It took a few more texts for him to explain the situation to his mom, but once she decided that this meant he was trying to win Sienna back, she agreed to have dinner with Kelley's parents instead. He opened the door but had no intentions of letting Kelley stay. "Kell, I'm not going to dinner anymore. Did you see those posts? I'm fucked. I'm completely fucked." He wasn't even slightly concerned with his own reputation. His friends would only be impressed that he managed to bang the best friend while the girlfriend was away... especially with that best friend being Sydney Vale. Sienna's friends would look at him with disgust, but he didn't have a chance with Jane or Piper anyway! Nothing was going to change for him, besides losing Sydney and Sienna. Not just as a hookup and potential girlfriend, but as friends. After finally winning Sienna back after years of a broken relationship, he didn't think he could deal with not speaking to her again. At the same time, he felt bad for Sydney. If he had told her that he was feeling too guilty and needed to confess to Sienna, he knew that she would have done the same. She was keeping the secret because that was what they agreed on, and he had screwed her over by telling Sienna to clear his own name without consulting her. Plus, he knew that this getting out was going to affect her more than it would anyone else.

"Oh, calm down, Cowboy Casanova. People will get over it in two days when the next-"

"Come on." He cut her off, grabbed his keys, phone and wallet and her arm, and pulled her into the elevator. He still didn't know how, but somehow, he was going to make this right. Rumors swirled left and right in their circle, and Vincent still wanted to believe that someone had just been pretty accurate with their creativity this time, but it seemed like wishful thinking.

To: Sienna
Tell me u didn't leak this Sia. Tell me someone really is just trying to fuck with us and made it up

-x-

One set of fingers curled around her blanket, pulling it up closer against her chest as Sydney sat up. The other swiped at her red cheeks, confirming that they were dry... for the time being. He honestly was the last person that she wanted to see, and she didn't consider Kelley to be a close enough friend to want her to see her in this state either. Vincent was the one who had betrayed her and when it came down to it, it was he who was the source of all of this drama. Not only had he been the one to initiate their night together, he was the one who lied about dating Sienna still, he was the one who agreed to Sydney that neither of them would tell a soul while he turned the next day and told Sienna, he was the one who maintained that he didn't tell anyone until this day, and he was the one who had come over to apologize this afternoon. Sydney's responsibility in all of this was hidden somewhere in that mix, but she hated Vincent right now.

"What do you want?" It took more effort than she wanted to give, but she was able to meet his gaze without the tears falling again.

"Sydney... I'm sorry. I should have told you I was telling her." His voice was weak with guilt. He knew that Sydney Vale, the coldest bitch in Constance, had just been crying, and it that said something. He looked to Kelley for support. What was he supposed to do?

Kelley didn't think that Piper could have been that much more hungover than she, but unlike the redhead, Kelley made it to class on Friday. She felt dead for most of the day and considered telling Vincent and her Aunt Colette that she wasn't going to make it to dinner, but she knew that that would only cause her a bigger headache. They were all meeting at her mother's new restaurant in Tribeca and god forbid Kelley miss another "family event". So, around seven, she left her apartment in an outfit and walked a few blocks over to Vincent's. He had finally learned how to lock his front door, forcing her to pound on it obnoxiously rather than let herself in. "Let me in, bitch!" she called through the door. For a few seconds, she considered that he wasn't home because there was no sound on the other side of the door. After what seemed like a while, the door creaked open and before she could congratulate him on learning how to use a key, he started speaking in a frenzy.

"Kell, I'm not going to dinner anymore. Did you see those posts? I'm fucked. I'm completely fucked." She had seen the posts on Twitter and Facebook, but honestly, she didn't think it was a big deal. She had known the truth about Vincent's cheating scandal the day after it happened and even then, she didn't think it was a big deal. Vincent had cheated on Sienna with Sydney. For the past few years, everyone already knew that he cheated on her. If they were going to hate him for that, it would have happened back then. Why did he care so much about the detail of Sydney being the other woman coming out? "Oh, calm down, Cowboy Casanova. People will get over it in two days when the next-" she tried to reassure him people who care about it for a few days, and then move on. That was how the Upper East Side worked. He grabbed her wrist before she could finish, and led them out of his apartment.

Kelley could tell that he was panicking when she realized that the address he shot at their cab driver was Sydney Vale's. If Vincent was thinking straight, he would have went to speak to Sienna and receive her side of the story first. She had heard enough about their night together to know that they had left off on good terms yesterday. Vincent, the boy that claimed to be heartbroken when she dumped him, could not really care this much about Sydney when everyone knew he had vowed to never let her come between he and Sienna again. "I don't think this is a good idea..." she commented, though the advice went unheard by her cousin who let her into Sydney's building. The fact that the doorman recognized him by his name and gave him access to Sydney's apartment without even buzzing in wasn't a good sign. Maybe she knew less about Vincent and Sydney's relationship than she thought she did...

To: Piper
Yea wtf. Vincent dragged me to the queen bee's house... Where r u at? Shits gonna go down. U should be worried more than me lol looks like ur friend group is in for a rough weekend

She guessed that Piper would know more about how all of this got out than she, since she was in the same social circle as Sienna and Sydney. Kelley, however, was unaware that everything already went down, until Vincent hesitantly opened Sydney's bedroom door. There she was, the heartless ruler of Constance Billard, bundled up in blankets, red-eyed and alone. It was strange to see the girl who could make people flinch with just a look to appear so vulnerable herself. Kelley hated drama and she still thought that Vincent freaking out over this whole affair was a waste of energy, but Sydney's appearance alone made her feel bad. Kelley wasn't Sienna or Sydney's biggest fan, but she was definitely civil enough with both of them. When it came down to it, she easily preferred the first to the second, however. Her issues with Sydney were the same that most people had with her. She disliked how caught up in herself she was and found her too be too uptight for her liking. Kelley had no real reason to dislike Sienna, especially with how in love Vincent was with her. Maybe it was just the air that that group gave off, because Kelley sometimes rolled her eyes at Piper's behavior too, if she was around her friends.

Even if she didn't want to get involved in the drama, the look the desperate look that Vincent flashed her and the broken look on Sydney's face made Kelley feel inclined to do something. "Sydney, no one is going to care about that stupid post by Monday. People say shit all of the time about you, aren't you used to it by now?" Okay, maybe that wasn't the most compassionate way of putting it. "I mean, when you're popular and whatever, there are so many people who want to try to cut you down, and I'm sure whoever wrote that was one of them. It's not worth crying over." She carefully sat down on the edge of Sydney's bed, desperately hoping that the blonde opposite her wouldn't burst into tears. "Why don't you just tell Sienna you're sorry? I'm sure you guys can move on from this." If she had only known about the dinner the three popular girls had earlier, she definitely wouldn't have suggested that.

The night's events took an unexpected turn when Kelley ended up spending the night. She refused to speak to Vincent, ordering him out of her apartment after his fourth attempt at apologizing, but she didn't want Kelley to leave. Granted, she was in the mood for anyone's coming, and Kelley wouldn't have been her top choice, but having her there ended up being better than expected. Kelley let Sydney go on and on about how pathetic and conniving and jealous Sienna was of her. Sure, Kelley was downing cocktails faster than Sydney was speaking, but she didn't even want a coherent response from the girl. She needed someone to get her anger out to and as long as Kelley was there to nod every now and then, she was fine. They devoured the pizza Sydney had ordered before the cousins arrived, watched an assortment of Disney movies (or, at least had them playing in the background as Sydney ranted), and by two AM, both girls had passed out in Sydney's room.

When morning came, Kelley's hangover was apparent when Sydney woke up to find her locked in the bathroom. She had a couple mixed drinks the night before but hadn't moved beyond being tipsy. However, the emotional strain of the day before forced her into a state of exhaustion. It took rinsing off in cold water and a cup of coffee for her to feel somewhat functional, but with that, came the thoughts of what had went on yesterday. She had lost Sienna as a friend, and even if she wanted to tell herself that it was a good thing, it wasn't. She had potentially lost Jane as a friend, which was definitely a bad thing, especially since Sydney hadn't even tried to reach out to her the night before. That was for no reason besides her being too caught up in her own despair and self-pity, but even if that was just who Sydney was, it wasn't a valid excuse for being a bad friend. All Sydney knew, as she sat on the edge of her kitchen island with her steamy beverage in had, was that she had to win Jane back before Sienna got to her. Sienna was not going to try to ruin her image like that and run off with her friends. Hell no.

Saturday, September 6th | 7:30 PM

It was time for Hailey's party, as made apparent by the countless number of Instagram posts of classmates pregaming through their friends. Sydney, however, had no intentions of going to the party. To start, Hailey was a drug addicted loser who had the nerve to speak to her as if she was the one who was the nobody on Thursday. Secondly, Sienna was going to be there, and although Sydney wasn't hiding from her, she had no desire to see that girl's face ever again. Lastly, Sydney didn't want to show up with anyone other than her friends. Connor was still out with his family, she still hadn't reached out to Jane, Piper was definitely going to side with Sienna, and she didn't really want to show up with Kelley. The blonde was a good ear for the night, but they were so different. A real friendship would never last and Sydney knew that Kelley was smart enough to know when she was being used.

The only thing that gave Sydney the courage to show up at Jane's apartment unannounced, knowing that Sienna very well might have already dragged her to Hailey's, was the fact that Jane's Instagram had been dead for the evening. It would have been very surprising if Jane was looking great in some dolled up outfit for the party and didn't post a picture for everyone to see. Then again, maybe this eating disorder thing had stolen her social media confidence too. It was too late for Sydney to reconsider, because the concierge of Jane's building were already escorting her to the private penthouse elevator. And up she went. 38 stories later, and the elevator bell chimed, doors slowly peeled open and she was in the foyer of the Lynch household.

A member of the house staff was a few feet away, rearranging a vase of flowers when she looked over at Sydney and stopped what she was doing. Though she probably expected it to be Adrian or Nicole, or unbeknownst to Sydney, Carolina, Sydney frequented the home more than often to be a recognized face.

"Miss Vale! I didn't hear you buzz in. Let me get Jane for you," the woman exclaimed pleasantly. Normally, Sydney would have refused and walked up to Jane's bedroom herself, but she didn't know if Jane even wanted to see her. Yesterday had went horribly, Sydney had a lot to apologize for, and Jane was always more emotional than the rest of them. She never had to deal with Jane being actually upset with her, but at the same time, nothing like this had ever happened before. And rather than reflect on herself, Sydney cursed Sienna again for having to be so dramatic.

Friday night proved that alcohol was a blessing from the heavens. There was no way in a million years that Kelley would have been able to survive a night of "girl time" with Sydney Vale if the Vale's bar wasn't fully stocked. Even with the many mixed drinks and shots, Kelley still caught herself rolling her eyes at the dramatic pity party that Sydney was throwing for herself. She did feel bad for Sydney, but not that bad. If she was suddenly so full of regret and knew how wrong she had been, why had she slept with Vincent in the first place? Or again after that? It was apparent that Sydney was not so much sorry that she slept with him, as she was that Sienna found out. She couldn't just abandon Sydney though, and between the endless supply of free drinks and free pizza, and the unexpected persistence from her conscience, she ended up staying the night. By morning, it was apparent that her body was not happy with the amount of alcohol she consumed since she spent a good thirty minutes with her head hanging over Sydney's toilet, and once that fiasco was over, she gladly made her exit.

The rest of her day was spent at home where her mother was throwing her sister Taryn's baby shower was being held. Kelley lacked enough enthusiasm for the day that she considered going back to Sydney's, but she knew she would never hear the end of it from her mother. Family members from all over were coming in for the shower and apparently, her sister "needed her support". It made Kelley laugh sardonically because she knew that her sister couldn't have cared any less about her presence. Kelley was the screw up of the family and Taryn was the sibling who never let her forget that. Admittedly, their relationship was in a better place now than it was a couple of years ago, but Kelley still wasn't excited for the event. Sitting in a room filled with snobby women, laughing about stupid jokes and gushing over how tiny the overpriced outfits people bought for the unborn child were just didn't sound like a fun time to Kelley. Luckily, mimosas were on the menu and every time her mother turned her back, Kelley swallowed as much of the orange cocktail as she could.

Her Aunt Colette had come back into the city for the afternoon, and since the woman was more like a cousin than an aunt, Kelley's day wasn't as dreadful as she thought it would be. The pair went shopping and got dinner after the shower and the only downfall of the evening was that Colette would not stop talking about the Vincent, Sydney, Sienna drama. She blamed her son more than either of the girls, but unsurprisingly, she insisted that Kelley needed to try to fix the situation. She claimed that Vincent couldn't do it on his own because he was "too much like his father" and couldn't understand that he was "ruining his future" by letting Sienna go. It was melodramatic but that was Colette for you, and after the tears started spilling into her chicken piccata, Kelley insisted that she would do what she could just to make her stop.

Rather than go to the party with Vincent and Ricardo (who Kelley didn't even know was back in town), she got a cab there on her own. Her extended dinner with Colette left her running late and she barely had time to get dressed in a neon yellow mesh crop top, white denim shorts and wedges. Although Kelley didn't know Hailey, she had to give her points for throwing a rave-themed party in the regal Upper East Side. She hadn't been to many raves this summer with her parents being on her back, and was definitely in the mood for such a wild and carefree night. By the time she got to the party, she considered texting Brent to see if he had any ecstasy on him to help her get her night going, but was sure he would show his face soon enough anyway. Besides, she was still working on her buzz from the martinis she and Colette had ordered at dinner and wasn't in dire need of a pick me-up so soon into the night.

When the elevator let her off on the floor that the party was being held on, she was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere. This new girl did seem to know how to throw a party! There were already a lot of people there, the music playing was spot on, and the lightning electrified the neon colors that everyone was wearing. "Hey!" It was only by chance that Kelley bumped into the hostess as she made her way through the party. "You're Hailey, right? Happy birthday, bitch!" Kelley didn't need an excess of alcohol to be comfortable with strangers. Besides, she wanted to be friendly if this was the girl who was financing her drinking binge for the night. "I'm Kelley, I don't think we met. Where can a chica get a drink around here?" she twirled a strand of blonde hair around her finger, her eyes scouring the room for the bar.

Sunday, September 7th | 12:30 PM

Sunday was turning out to be an extremely busy day for Sienna and she wasn't exactly sure how she felt about it yet. The party last night had been pretty damn fun and exciting, especially seeing some of the more prim and proper students actually throwing the cares and inhibitions away. She herself had had a good time, especially with Jane, Piper, and Charlotte being her party buddies at different points of the night. She didn't know nor care if Sydney had made a presence, and if she had, Sienna had not paid it any mind. She had made it her mission to enjoy herself and downed two Mai Tai cocktails and only three shots, which was definitely safer than her typical antics. Maybe it was because she was trying to be coherent enough to evade Vincent when he did appear with Ricky...

...which brought her to her current issue. "Let me guess, you're vying for best friend of the month award," she snapped into her cell phone while sending out a few blasts online to the various volunteers for the afternoon. It was a very classy event they were hosting, a lunch of sorts with very light entrees, champagne, and a few other delicate treats. She had helped Charlotte and Victoria with the initial planning, but eventually stuck to doing her original job, which was more along the lines of garnering media attention of alumnae who still be around, various donors who would probably donate funds again, a few other social media management duties that had been bequeathed to her. Afterwards, she would have a small dinner with Jay Z and Beyoncé about her upcoming EP, another session in the studio despite having doing one earlier in the morning, and finish whatever homework she had not touched. She had not had time to construct an attire that would allow her l show out and even had decided on one of her most bare looks, opting even for the bare minimum in regards to makeup. The dress she chose was classy and casual, and the shoes were just edgy enough. She even had to deal with the fact that Hailey was preparing to leave since, apparently, Sydney slamming her for drugs Sienna still believed did not belong to Hailey had run amuck through the halls and a few other rumors had spread. It was too much stress and dealing with being new to all of it, Hailey had not been prepared for anything. So, she was leaving and Sienna had oversaw her getting on a flight extremely early in the morning. Which was why she was not in the mood to play by Ricky's rules.

"Oh come on, Sia. Give me a little credit," his voice rumbled through her ears over the speakers, and Sienna scowled because she could hear the chuckle he did not release. "You say it like it's a bad thing." Sienna growled and Ricky laughed a bit at the sound. "Don't you think that if I wanted to talk to him, that I would have already done so?" Ricky smirked on his end, finishing with his tie. He was in the process of getting presentable for this event, having shooed away his conquest from the night before at the crack of dawn. He really hated when girls wore make up that they were only going to fuck up by morning. Honestly, it was an unattractive look and was probably the real reason he had sent her away so early. "The only reason you haven't spoken to him is because you're scared." Sienna paused and his smirk only grew at her silence.

It had never been hard for Ricardo to understand Sienna. She liked to think she was a bit more complex and in a way, she was, but she also was not hard to decode. Her fear at whatever she would hear from Vincent at the explanation of his "relationship" with Sydney was the main reason for her ignoring him, not her anger at the lacrosse star for being in a Snapchat. Ricky had singled that fact out last night when he acknowledged her ignoring Vincent to her face and seeing the almost guilty look in her eyes was enough to solidify the fidelity of his theory. No one could say that the king of St. Jude's wasn't an intelligent individual, that was for sure. Sienna's mouth opened and closed twice, and Esmee looked up from the seating chart Sienna had asked her to look over, running her hands through her pin-straight hair she stared at her sister curiously. Shaking her head, Sienna rose from her seat and left her laptop with Esmee, opting to walk out in the lobby instead of continuing the conversation in the ballroom. "Fine, I'll talk to him before this. Satisfied? She griped into her phone and Ricky could only laugh and admire his attire for the afternoon with pleasure. "Delighted." He replied and was not surprised by the click that followed.

Once off the phone with his Royal Asshole-ness, Sienna huffed and puffed, pouting for just a few minutes. She had fallen for Ricardo's tricks again. She could have ignored his allegations and ended the call altogether, but - and she was very aware that he knew this - she wasn't going to let him just call her out like that. She wasn't scared of talking to Vincent. It was freaking Vincent! She could have this conversation with him and then he could go back to telling everyone she didn't mean a thing to him, and she could go back to hating him. And damn those thoughts for saddening her for the seconds they dwelled in her mind. Messing with the loose strands that framed her face unlike the rest of her hair, which was styled in a side bun, Sienna paced along the floors for two minutes before making her decision. She dialed Vincent's number and waited for him to pick up, not giving him much time to say anything before cutting in, "Look, we've got thirty minutes til this event begins, and I can't leave since Charlotte isn't here yet, so if you still wanna talk, I'm here. And if not..." She bit her lip for a second, contemplating it before continuing. "..if not, then I'll see you when I see you." She hung up before the conversation could go any farther, staring down at her device for a few seconds longer than she would have admitted.

The cool air from outside grazed her warm skin due to various guests exiting the hotel and it reminded her that she needed to be on the move. She needed to make sure that everything was in place so Charlotte wouldn't have too much to stress over other than her speech. Preparing herself for possibly speaking with Vincent and dealing with the unwanted pleasantries that came with lavish events such as these, Sienna turned back and headed towards the ballroom once more, sending out messages to various peoples.

Brent expected Charlotte to respond to his final remarks, and he planned on letting her get the last word as he smirked and walked away, but she took him by surprise when she caught up to him and grabbed him. He turned around, even more surprised when she yanked him closer to her. If he wasn't focusing on how good she smelled, a faint vanilla aroma coming off of her, or how she looked even better this close than she did from their normal distance, he would have chuckled at the "Breaking Bad" reference. He did catch the part where she warned him that she would "destroy" him, and that definitely elicited a laugh, but it was a short lived moment, for Rose interrupted them shortly after. "Don't worry about it! I'll change tomorrow's reservation to a table for three. You know I'm always down for a threesome with twins," he called out as the blondes hurried down the hallway. He won that one, but he believed Lottie when she claimed that that wasn't the end of the conversation, and he had no complaints about that.

The event was flooded with adults which meant that most of his usual customers were too hesitant to buy anything this morning. It was certainly an annoyance, as Brent still had a bag of ecstasy that needed to go, but he had made fifty dollars so far, and Piper had spoken to Jane. By the end of the day, he was sure that he was going to feel better, and his pocket would feel heavier.

To: Piper
I'll be happy when the bug's in her ear AND the pills are in her mouth. But it's a good start Good job Pipe xD. Shall we do the exchange tonight? Ur place or are the rents still pissed at you?

To: Kelley
Smh I thought you were in the SGA

With Charlotte occupied with the charity event and Brent's sales capacity reached, his presence no longer seemed necessary. It wasn't like he had a check to donate and he sure as hell didn't want to stick around these high society folks any longer than he had to. Plus, the dress shirt he was wearing made him feel uncomfortable and itchy. It was time to leave, and he headed towards the front of the ballroom. He had nearly made it out when he heard Charlotte's voice over the microphone and decided that he could deal with the stuffy environment for a few more minutes, if it meant he could formulate some new jabs over whatever lame speech she made. As expected, he was blindsided when she said the event was for the ALS Foundation. ALS didn't just "hit close to home" for him... it was what shaped his life. He assumed that it was just a coinicidence... the ALS challenge had caused a firestorm on social media lately... maybe she was just following that trend. But no, he was proved wrong when a video came on and his own family was featured! He had briefly remembered his dad talking about it to him in a phone call. Some time last spring, the foundation had interviewed his father and taken video of his mother down at the hospital she was being treated at in Arkansas. Brent didn't pay it any mind, and this was the first time he was seeing it. His father discussed how detrimental the disease was, how it took away all of the freedom that his once energetic and youthful wife had. His father could be seen holding a photo of the entire family and as the camera panned in on the photograph and Jesse started talking about Brent and Cameron, Brent froze. It was bad enough that the video featured his father and mother. Their names were plastered on the video and if anyone cared enough, maybe they would put two and two together and realize that it was his father. But maybe not. It wasn't like Brent was a Ricardo or Vincent, where people actually cared about him. When his photograph was shown in the video, he felt like this was a personal attack on Charlotte's part. She had to have reviewed the video before this event. Hell, she might have been the one to put it together and ask for his family's interview to be included! And that was low. Even for Charlotte Buchanan, someone who he regularly received insults from, attacking him in such a personal way just seemed ruthless. Brent was never an emotional person and his face was stone cold now, but he was embarrassed. Mortified, really, and as the video came to a close, he darted for the door. If he was just angry, he would have sent the blonde a text and told her that she wasn't just self righteous, but a bitch too, but he wasn't really mad at her. She was helping his family by holding a fundraiser like this, even if it was indirectly. He just felt humiliated. Humiliated that his family needed help from snobby rich people who felt like they were patron saints for sharing a penny's worth of their fortunes. Humiliated that his debilitated mother was shown on that video, as if she were just a way to sell the charity's message. As selfish as it was, he was humiliated that he was now a face of some charity case too. And Charlotte had known all of this and probably done it on purpose. He had laughed off the thought of her ever being able to destroy him, but in one slick move, he dramatically felt like she had certainly destroyed his image and pride.

After his phone call with Victoria, Brent considered that maybe she was right. Compared to Charlotte, he didn't have much to worry about in the social-image-being-ruined respect. In many ways, it wasn't like he had a social image at all. Being a "badass" had been cool for a year or so, since he was coming off of a long road of being a complete nerd, but now he was really just selling drugs and maintaining this side of his personality to help his family stay afloat. If anything, he preferred to blend into the background around most people and aside from a couple of congratulatory comments about dating Lottie from other guys in school, no one had said anything about his family. No one cared and someone's mother being on the verge of dying was something that even the biggest jerk at Saint Jude's would know was not comedic on any level. He hated the idea of his family being thrust into the spotlight, even if no one had cared, mostly because Charlotte had to have known that it was his family. There was absolutely no way that she didn't know, and Brent was positive that the class president had watched that video multiple times before it was shown to make sure that it was perfect. He liked messing with her and liked it when she messed with him back, but something like this just seemed like it was on a whole different playing field. There was still a part of him that wanted to text her and ask her what she was doing, but he had never been serious with Charlotte before and trying to have an emotional, real conversation would just be awkward and uncomfortable. Plus, Victoria had eased his concerns and the promise of a hefty payout over the gossip he leaked about Jane was enough for him to let her off the hook for promoting his mother's health crisis even further.

He didn't directly make any profit off of his deal with Jane and Piper last night, because all of Jane's money went into Piper's pocket, but it had technically just brought him money from Victoria too. Plus, he was sure that all it would take was one sale for Jane to be hooked again and that was going to pay off big this time around. He felt a little bit better over the whole ALS event fiasco, and with the guarantee of lots of money in his future, even better. Rather than return home and potentially have to deal with his brother, who was undoubtedly strung out on drugs, despite it being the middle of the day, Brent headed to the library. He had a few papers to start working on and planned on staying there until it closed. When he arrived twenty minutes later, he settled in at a table in a quite corner nook of the library, set up his laptop and put his ear buds in, although he wasn't playing any music, and sent Kelley a text. He considered texting Piper to tell her that he was going to need her to send Jane his way again soon, but decided not to push it. He thought about texting Charlotte for a while, but wasn't sure what to say. About twenty minutes into his writing, he decided to just send it. Being an ass to her was better than trying to seriously talk about the rumor and feeling uncomfortable.

To: Kelley
Come chill at the library

To: Charlotte

"So, you're dating her?"

"Yup."

"And you thought that through? That's what you really wanted to do?"

"Yeah, why wouldn't it be?" He slid a bag of sugar across the counter towards her and watched as she poured a portion of it into the bowl without measuring it. "Can you at least try to measure things? I want these to come out right."

"Hey, I'm the child of cooking royalty. I don't need to measure shit for it to come out perfect," she said, sticking a finger into the batter and licking the brownie mix off of it. "And no reason. I just think that it happened pretty quickly."

"Finally getting into a real, serious relationship after knowing her for what? Sixteen years? That is pretty quickly," he said sarcastically as he added the last few ingredients to the batter.

"I don't mean it like that, asshole. I'm just saying that like, after all of what just happened, it seems kind of sudden that you'd go from that to dating."

"AKA, you're Sydney's best friend now?"

"Not quite." She hopped off of the counter and slid the tray of uncooked brownies into the oven. "I guess it's safe to say that you aren't either? How'd she take the news of you and Alicia Keys dating?" She knew exactly what Vincent's silence, as he wiped down the counter, meant. Sydney didn't know, and that he knew that was as bad as she thought it was. "She doesn't know? Shit, you really are stupid," she smirked, though shaking her head at the obviously bad place that Vincent had put himself in.

"No one knows. It's not like we're keeping it from her exclusively." When Vincent remembered that they were at Kelley's and that there were house staff to clean up after them, he stopped worrying about the mess they had made while baking and looks over at Kelley. "Besides, it's not her business anyway."

That last comment had Kelley laughing at loud. "Since when has something not being her business ever stopped Sydney Vale from acting like it is?" She leaned back against the island and crossed her arms over her chest. It was apparent that Vincent didn't want to talk about this, but Kelley didn't care. She felt like she not only deserved an explanation, but she needed to knock some sense into Vincent too. Before he responded, her phone buzzed with a text message from Brent who invited her to the library with him. She had school work to do and was in the mood to hang out with him, especially since she hadn't seen Charlotte enough today to pester her about the rumor involving the two. "I'm going to go meet up with Brent at the library, so get lost," she said playfully, before adding, "Unless you wanna chill here alone until Taryn and my mom get back from nursery shopping."

To: Brent
Yeahhhh give me 20

Vincent had been planning on bringing the brownies to the movie night that he and Sienna had planned to have tonight. Just as they had started cooking though, he had seen a text from Sienna explaining that she had to cancel for tonight. With hanging out with her out of the question, he had decided to hang out with Kelley, but now she was ditching him too. He decided not to respond to her inquiry about how he thought Sydney wasn't going to find out, because he didn't have an answer. She became preoccupied with her phone anyway, so it was a seamless transition into skipping over the question. "I'll leave once my brownies are finished."

"You know I don't want them unless there's weed in 'em anyway," she shot back with a grin as she headed out of the kitchen and to her bedroom. When she reemerged fifteen minutes later, Vincent was still in the kitchen, but packing his things into his backpack that he thrust over his shoulder as she entered. "Leaving?"

"Yeah, I'm meeting up with Rick and Connor. The brownies are all yours. Maybe you can eat them after you smoke," he said, rolling his eyes at the last part. Ricardo had texted him in their new group chat a few minutes ago and after a bit of contemplation, Vincent had decided that he had to go out. They were definitely in need of a guy's night out and he was going to have to explain his situation with Sienna to the boys at some point. With Connor, he could probably get away with avoiding the subject, as he had been able to do with the Sydney scandal so far, but that was impossible with Rick. Vincent figured that it would be easier to handle it now over beers than during their lunch period or something.

To: Ricardo, Connor
I'm down. I'll be outside of Kelley's building in 5.

After taking the brownies out of the oven, Kelley had one of the kitchen staff put a few into a container for her to take to Brent. Vincent was right; if the two decided to smoke after the library, brownies would be a nice way to fight the munchies. Minutes later, the cousins left the Hadley apartment together, but Kelley hailed a cab while Vincent waited on the sidewalk outside of the building. He considered hailing a cab himself, but he didn't know what Ricardo had planned for the night and where he wanted them all to go. While he waited, his phone pinged again with another text from Sienna, and he realized he hadn't answered her first one.

To: Sienna
Hey sorry. Yeah movie night tomorrow sounds good. Is everything cool with Charlotte and all of that?

Btw I made brownies for nothing though, so you owe me ;) big time

Brent had his legs propped up on the table and his laptop resting on his lap by the time that Charlotte texted him. His earbuds were plugged into his phone so he was alerted of her texts and Kelley's, though the former made him smirk more than anything. He hadn't necessarily been angry at Charlotte as much as he was surprised and in a way, embarrassed, but going back to their normal bickering was a relief. She was still a pretentious rich girl who was out of his league, but at the very least, she was amusing.

To: Charlotte
If u say so, blondie. But u researching my family and having Rosie snap a pic of u trying to make a move on me seems to make a lot of sense. Do I have to fight ur little fairy boyfriend Harkins for a night w you or are you just gonna admit u want me?

He knew the text was provocative but he meant for it to be that way. Lottie had pushed his buttons and made him feel humiliated for a day, so he felt like he deserved to be a little demeaning back. Besides, it wasn't like he was ever really respectful towards her anyway. A response to Kelley didn't seem necessary, so as he waited for her to arrive, he focused on the article he was supposed to be sourcing for a history paper. Fifteen minutes passed before he got a text from Kelley asking where he was, and after he gave her a vague description, it took another five minutes for her to reach him. "Tell me the Hadley kitchen is gonna be the new pot brownie hot spot," he said, acknowledging the container of brownies in her hand before anything else.

"Not trying to get sent to boarding school, so no." Kelley said, taking a seat across from Brent. She pushed his feet from the table top and set the brownies down next to her laptop. "You and Cam should start making those though. You know how well they'll sell? I'll bring some to Charlotte's next student government bake sell and I guarantee they'll be gone in minutes."

"She would murder you in broad daylight."

"I feel like Charlotte could be the biggest lowkey stoner in all of New York. That's my goal this year. I'm gonna get her to smoke with us whether I have to lock her in the closet and hotbox it," Kelley declared. She was only partially joking. Though she was certain that Charlotte wouldn't touch drugs ever, she was also convinced that it would be a fun sight to see, and while she wasn't nearly as bad as Brent, Kelley liked to push Charlotte's buttons on occasion too. She was like that with a lot of people. While she wasn't one to thrive off of drama, she also didn't approve of the rigid rules forced upon her via the Upper East Side social system and she did her best to poke fun at the people who did adhere to it so strictly.

"Over her dead body," Brent said, a small smirk tugging at his lips. He was sure that Charlotte was innocent enough to have never even touched a cigarette before. He wouldn't have been surprised if she had never even seen marijuana before! Aside from when she tried to break up his deals at her events, of course. She was too much of an angel to mess with anything that wasn't as holy as she, but that didn't keep Brent from mentally agreeing that it would be a noteworthy achievement to see it happen.

As the conversation died down, the two indulged in the brownies and almost finished them before a librarian reminded them of the "no food" rule. They got work done and only started chatting again when Kelley had finished her assignment. When she was motivated enough to do her work, it was never hard for her to get it done. She had always breezed by in school and it was only her poor attendance record and careless and sometimes obnoxious attitude in class that weighed her down. "On a real level though, are you fucking with her or something?" Kelley had reached across the table and pulled one of his earbuds from his ear. Considering that Kelley and Brent had slept together on multiple occasions, the question could have been awkward, but it wasn't with them. It didn't feel awkward to Kelley, at least. She wasn't emotionally invested in ant relationship with Brent besides being friends, and though being friends with benefits seemed to be impossible for most people, Brent and Kelley seemed to be the perfect people for it.

Kelley's random question and having his music quieted in an instant had caught him off guard, but he was finished with the part of his paper that he planned on doing today, so he pushed his laptop screen down. Kelley was probably the only person that he didn't put up a sarcastic and hard front to all of the time, so it was easier to be honest with her than most people. "You think Charlotte Buchanan is going to be fucking with me? Come on, Hadley, you're smarter than that," he grinned. He crumbled the paper's rubric in his hand, leaned back in his seat and shot it a few feet away into a trash bin. "I wish, but nah, that was just some rumor." Since he was close with Kelley, he considered telling her that it was a rumor started by Tori, but the reminder of his payday forced him to pass on that and text Tori again.

To: Tori

Victoria ended up keeping to her word that she wouldn't make any posts about Jane. She still had no reason to want to protect Jane personally, but a few other reasons kept her wanting to hoard the secret to herself for the time being. For one, her blog had been more active than ever over the past few days. Between the post about Sydney and Vincent, and then the one about Charlotte, she had enough page views and buzz around the page to keep her satisfied. The Jane story would be a good one, not in the way that Charlotte or Sydney's was, because stories involving scandalous romance were always instant-hits, but simply because she was part of Sydney's circle. Those girls were viewed by many as being perfect and 100% flawless, and shedding light on how horribly flawed one of them would be would always generate a good story. That led into the second reason. Her attention had drifted away from one of Sydney's troubled friends to another: Piper. Victoria found out that she was the one who slept with Ed at Sydney's party on Wednesday, and the revelation had Tori wanting to burn Piper to the ground (figuratively and literally). She and Edward weren't technically together the night of Sydney's party. Victoria had broken up with him days before, claiming that he wasn't good enough for her, but she had done that countless times in the past. She didn't really think he would move on, but she should have known that being admitted into Saint Jude's would turn him into a manwhore. That, coupled with Piper Vine, being who Tori now declared the biggest slut in Manhattan, being near him, only spelled trouble. She would put a stop to that, though. After sending Ed many angry (and arguably, a little crazy) voicemails on Wednesday and not hearing back, Victoria decided that she needed to take things into her own hands.

She kept her fingers away from her keyboard on Tuesday and Wednesday and focused on school work. Constance Billard wasn't exclusive just for social reasons. The work there really was rigorous and coupled with studying for the last rounds of SAT's, Tori was overwhelmed with academics, despite it only being the first week of school. Besides just not having enough time to figure out what her next move would be, being back in the classroom reminded her of where she stood on the social ladder. She had used a lot of moxie to act against Sienna but in real life, she wasn't as brave as she was behind her keyboard. In school, she was still the girl who couldn't eat lunch with Sydney Vale and her friends on the steps of The MET, or hop into the town car that Vincent and Ricardo showed up in after classes ended to pick up their girl friends. She was herself, but that wasn't enough, and it infuriated her. So much so, that by the time classes let out on Thursday and she hurried into the town car waiting for her, she couldn't stop herself from making a post to her blog. The idea of going home to an empty house with no real friends and no real family always bothered her, but on the anniversary of her mother's death, her emotions were running more rampant. Maybe she would have still made the post anyway, but today was the day that came once a year, that reminded her that she had less than her peers in more ways than one. Victoria was too young when her mother was killed for her to really remember much, but she knows that had she had a real maternal figure in her life, things would have been different. How, she isn't exactly sure, but she just knows that she wouldn't loathe herself so much. If she had a mother all her life, like all of these other girls, she wouldn't have wanted to be anyone but herself.

I needed a little hiatus after all of the mayhem that our precious little Upper East Siders entertained us with this weekend, but don't worry, darlings; I'm back ;). We all know that this Friday is the annual party that Constance Billard's group of royals throw, and this year, our hostess is none of than Piper Vine! Trust me, I'm just surprised as you that she's managed to stay in that group for so long. Now, to help us all get in the spirit for what's destined to be an ~exciting~ party, I decided to dedicate the next few blog posts to the hostess with the mostess, and what better way to do that than to leave you with some fun facts about her?

  • As you can see, she can deep throat just about anything! Ask the bathroom attendant at Sydney Vale's party, I'm sure she can personally attest to that ;)

  • Sydney isn't the only one in the coveted inner circle that goes for the boys who are taken, so ladies, watch out. If you don't want your bf pinned to the bathroom floor, forced to make out with her, take this as a warning (or follow Charlotte's lead and pretend that you actually aren't dating your boyfriend! Apparently, Brent Barclay is one of the very few guys that Piper hasn't slept with yet!)

We've still got over 24 hours until her big party starts, so check back in for more. I'm saving the juiciest details for last ;)

xoxo

"Another day wasted," Kelley groaned, though her expression twinkled of playfulness as she sluggishly walked down the steps of Constance Billard towards Vincent. It wasn't a complete waste of the day. She did catch up on her sleep during her English class, and during her lunch period, she breezed through most of her assignments. Still, Kelley disliked having to spend any of her time at school. It all just seemed unnecessary. Maybe it was because she was very bright, or maybe it was because she was usually hungover every morning and nothing other than sleeping seemed worthwhile. "How was your's?"

"Good... normal," Vincent responded distractedly. He and Kelley had planned on meeting at Constance when classes were over, so they could hang out before the dinner party that her parents were hosting. Although that was the real reason for him being at Constance, it had struck him after the plan was made, that Sydney might also be around, and Sienna wouldn't be. His conscience was telling him that it wasn't a good idea, but the devil on his shoulder wanted him to use this moment of Sienna being out of town to clear the air with Sydney. Why he still felt like he owed Sydney anything was beyond even him. He didn't think that he actually liked her outside of the reasons that every guy at Saint Jude's had for liking Sydney. She was a catch, but he knew that the cons outweighed the pros when it came to whatever he could have with her. Besides, the even bigger reason was that he had everything he could want with Sienna. Everyone insisted that they were perfect for each other and he knew that better than anyone else. But he felt... guilty for the way that things went down with Sydney still. This was an occasion where he almost wished that he was more like Rick. With any other girl, Vincent had few morals and was okay with sleeping with them once (while promising more just to get the pants off) and never speaking to them again. But he felt like he had went too far with Sydney, and then left her for dead by confessing to Sienna himself and not only not giving Syd a chance to too, but leaving her in the dark for years. It was close to impossible for Sydney's image to be torn down because she had literally spent years building it up, but even if it didn't cost her any followers, the hit that she must have taken to her pride made Vincent feel bad. He had seen her crying, for God's sake! The situation had turned Sydney into the clueless fool, and for the queen bee, Vincent knew that wouldn't sit well.

He saw her on the opposite side of the steps standing with Jane, and a girl whose name constantly slipped Vincent's mind. He knew that if he approached her, word would get back to Sienna within minutes. Although he tried to convince himself that him talking to Sydney wasn't wrong at all, that he could just apologize and it wouldn't be doing any wrong to Sienna, he knew that it wasn't that simple in this group.

"Your girlfriend isn't in school today, lover boy," Kelley teased, though her attention was focused on her phone as she spoke. "Yeah, she's away. She's visiting some school with Piper, I think." When she looked up and realized that Vincent was lingering steps behind her because he was looking at Sydney, her eyebrow's quickly rose. "Oh, you're gawking over your other girlfriend. Sorry, it's hard for me to keep up with who your current muse is since it seems to change every day."

"Shut up, I'm not gawking. I just don't know if I should say something to her," he said, taking a few more steps down, but stopping on the sidewalk below.

"If you're not telling her that you and Sienna are dating, I don't think you should say anything. I think you've said enough to everyone to last a lifetime. Honestly, I think Sienna might have some competition in your relationship for the title of the biggest drama queen."

Vincent opted not to shoot back sarcasm like Kelley was doing. Part of what she was saying was probably right, but Vincent didn't think he needed to tell Sydney that he and Sienna were dating in order to just clear the air between them. He knew he couldn't be close with her anymore, and he didn't think that he even wanted to be close with her, but he didn't want things to be awkward either. It was pathetic, considering that he had some social power of his own, but a bit of him didn't want to be on the queen bee's bad side either. "What did she say to you that night that you slept over her house? Do you think I should just apologize? I'm not going to tell her I'm with Sienna because that'll cause more drama. Sienna will tell her when they're friends again."

"I couldn't tell you if I wanted to. I'm pretty sure that's against girl code, Vince," she said, with the last part in a mocking tone. "On a real note, I'm surprised my liver survived that night," she continued, more seriously now. "But I seriously don't think that you should say anything. We don't need anymore drama in this town, and if we're actually sticking around this party my parents are throwing, I'm going to end up with a headache from just that. I don't need to somehow end up listening to Sydney Vale sob about her perfect life in addition to that." Vincent still seemed unsure, so Kelley threw one of her arms around his shoulder and forced him to walk away from the school with her. A few seconds later, his phone lit up and she watched his attention center in on it. She leaned over and read Sienna's message with him, before obnoxiously pestering him. "Ooh, your phone's ringing with a booty call. Answer it boy, answer it!" Vincent didn't act fast enough to push her face away before she read the message, but he did as he typed out a message to her. "She better come to the party tonight. You have to reintroduce her to the family, Vincent. She has to win our approval or she's out."

"Are you on drugs?" Vincent retorted in a mutter, struggling to find any amusement in Kelley's loud personality today. He did decide to at least extend the invite to Sienna, though. His mother wouldn't let him live it down if he didn't show up to the dinner party that his aunt and uncle were hosting, but he also really wanted to see Sienna. If she was busy, which he wouldn't have been surprised with with how their schedules were clashing all week, he would find a way to see her after, he decided. As he texted Sienna, Kelley was also sending out a few texts of her own.
