Meriela Keavaris's Story

Nasir was poking fun of Avery and telling Ofelia that he was looking more and more like him as each day passed by when he heard a knock at the door. He told her he would get it since she had Lir in her arms. Lir had gotten so chubby in the past two months that Nasir about died. Opening the door he saw a dark haired woman, about his age, and smiled until he saw the girl in her arms who looked nothing like her and everything like him and Ameria. "C-Can I help you?" He asked. The woman smiled and he noticed that she had a bag and the kid looked scared, as she looked up at him.

"Hello, I am Angie Latra and this here is Meriela. Ameria came to me and my family asking for shelter for her and her unborn child. We happily obliged and before she was born told us to keep her until she was a year old. If she did not return I was to bring her here. Well... Ameria never came and she threatened death on my family if I did not give her to you." Angie said with a smile though she had tears. It was clear she had grown close to the girl and it was hard giving her up. "She is a year and three months old and is your daughter." She gave him the bag and Nasir grabbed it still in shock. Ameria said she was going to abort it. He had no idea why she would keep it and now... he had her. When Angie have her to him she started to cry and scream for her.

"No, baby girl. You have to be here... I am so sorry." She whispered before running off. Nasir stood there for a moment with a screaming toddler that was his. When he finally came to he dropped the back inside by the door and tried to calm her down by gently bouncing her and walked into the kitchen and tried giving her a piece of peach, since it was right there. She sucked on it before calming down enough to rest her head on him.

Nasir walked into the living room and told the boys to go to their rooms and after they did so he looked at Ofelia for help and apologetically.

Ofelia shook her head at Nasir teasing Avery. Alois had run up to their room busy being determined how to fold clothes like Ofelia did which Ofelia thought was funny. Like she was raising a housewife or something. Someone knocked at the door and Nasir went to answer it since Ofelia had a real chubby boy in her arms. Lir had gone from this tiny little thing to a plump little munchkin in just two months. She made herself busy having Avery help her tidy up the table and things. Avery was doing better too, having finally gotten used to Ofelia, he didnt constantly challenge her anymore. He still would let women be touchy with him. But it was a start at least. She had just finished up with that and was back in the living room when Nasir came in and she heard him send Avery up to his room. She turned around and saw him with a child. It didnt even take a second look to know that the little girl was his. "She's yours isnt she?" She said. Trying to keep her tone friendly enough so she didnt scare the little girl. She wasnt really mad about it, there wasnt much he could have done, and judging by his face he didnt know she had been born. She was just concerned about what would happen now. And what theyd need to tell people now that she was here.

Nasir nodded, he was terrified and pissed. She had lied to him and he had a scared little girl in his arms. He sat down with her and she stayed put. "My family is going to want to know. Roshia already knows about what happened between me and Ameria. My father won't believe me... he loved Ameria. She made herself look like this angel. Meriela looked up at him and then to Ofelia and then to Lir." He said and looked down at her. She was gorgeous, her little cheeks killed him, and her eyes were Ameria's. She seemed innocent and nothing like her mother and he wanted to thank that Angie woman for that. "Ameria said she was going to get an abortion. When she was gone for months I should... I should have known." He said, not being able to look at Ofelia.

Ofelia didnt know what to say to Nasir about any of it, about his dad, or the rest of his family, any of it. She looked down at Lir and then walked over to them and showed Lir to Meriela. She looked back up at Nasir. "Its okay hun, its not your fault...You'll have to figure out how to deal with your dad but i'm sure he'll love her just the same. All we can do now is try to give her a good home and family. Did they tell you her name?" She asked and then looked her over. "I think I have some of my old clothes she'd fit in, somewhere upstairs." She said softly. She was feeling overwhelmed as hell. But there wasnt anything they could do about anything now. So she was trying to get through things logically.

Nasir listened to her and nodded, "Meriela." He said. Meriela looked at Lir and watched as he looked up back at her. She poked his roll on his arm and he giggled which made Meriela giggle. Nasir couldn't stop the smile that crept up. Once they got things settled he would talk to his family about it. He heard the door open and looked over to see Roshia walking in. She looked down at the baby, "Oh dear can I have her? Who is she for?" She asked and then blinked when she realized who that baby looked like. "Oh..." She stooped down and cooed at her till Meriela didn't look like she was going to cry anymore. "You can call me Auntie Rosie." She smiled. "So what happened?" She asked and Nasir filled her in. Ameria was dead and still causing trouble. "Well... I am guessing she is going to need a crib. I will go get that and have Rowan help me bring some stuff over. The joys of having a freaking mother in law that smothers you in gifts." She sighed and walked out.

Roshia returned with Rowan with arms full of stuff and him carrying the crib. "Look at my strong man. Ugh... he is so cute. Okay where you want it?" She asked.

Ofelia nodded and smiled a little when her and Lir got along. She was glad for that at least. Avery was going to be a damn challenge but she wasnt worried about Alois. He'd have someone to dress up and have tea parties with when she was a little bit older. Roshia walked in and Ofelia blinked at her like she was crazy before watching her interact with Meriela. Roshia walked out and then when she did Ofelia went and put Lir down in his crib since he was falling asleep. When she came back out she gently played with Meriela to get her used to her.

Rowan walked in with Roshia, holding the crib in his arms and looked over at Ofelia, who looked like she was doing her best to cope with the sudden surprise. She looked up at Nasir. "Did you want to put her in with Lir or use that other room that we arent using right now?" She asked him.

Nasir thought about it, he didn't know if putting her in a room all by herself was good or not, especially since she was in a new place. He looked over at her and he could tell she was coping, but how long would that that semi-happy act go. He looked over at Roshia and her eyes went wide as if to say what you want me to do? Nasir sighed, if he put her in Lir room Ofelia might not like that and it could push her to a snapping point. "Come on." He said, defeated and walked to the empty room they had. Roshia nodded and followed. She put the stuff on the bed before looking around. "Kind of out of the way." Roshia said. He nodded, "I will be sleeping in here till she gets comfortable." He said and Roshia frowned a bit. She looked over at Rowan who was still holding the crib.

She had him place it out of the way and started to move stuff. so they could set up the crib. "Uhh... I can hire Dol's friend to paint the room if you want." She said. Roshia felt his pain a bit, she knew what he went through, watched it first hand. Then to be given this child when he had a family to a woman who was difficult to read sometimes. "I can take her. I have two girls already. We can say we found her in the woods." Roshia smiled up at Nasir. He glared at her, "Really? With how much she looks like me and Ameria?" He asked.

Roshia giggled, "We can say their mind is playing tricks on them." She said. Nasir shook his head. "You just want the kids to yourself." He said.

Roshia pouted, "Yeah, so?"

Nasir placed her on the bed and surrounded her with stuffed animals. She screamed and giggled before hugging one of them to death. "Aww she loves my gift. Proof she should be with me." Roshia said and Nasir glared at her again.

Ofelia took that moment when no one was around to calm herself down. She had gone from being a new mom, to being a new mother to three the day she had Lir only two months ago, and now she had four kids to raise all in less than a three month time period and she was feeling a little overwhelmed with all of this at once. She managed to calm herself down decently enough. She had Nasir to help her. She wasnt completely alone. She did want a lot of kids, granted, not nearly this early she was only twenty five and hadnt even been married a full year yet. She let out a little bit of a sigh and told herself everything was going to be fine again and went to go find the other three, peeking in on them just in time to see Meriela hug a toy and scream happily and then Roshia trying to steal her. "You're trying to steal this one too?" She said and looked up at Nasir. "You didnt want to put her with Lir?"

Rowan put the crib off and out of the way in the corner and then helped moved things out of the way. And then when things were out of the way of the crib he had started to put it up but then stopped when Ofelia walked in and asked about not putting her with Lir. It didnt seem like she minded either way so he stopped working for now in case Nasir changed his mind.

Roshia looked over at her, "Well yeah, it isn't a want it is a need, Ofelia." She huffed and looked at Rowan. "She isn't going to freaking let me have her. Rude, babe, rude." She said and then went over and played with her and the stuff animals. Nasir looked down at Ofelia, "Well I didn't think you want her to so I was just going to stay in here with her till she got comfortable." He said and watch Rowan stop moving things. It seemed like him and Roshia had worked things out and were happier. He was glad, when they last talked he hated seeing her so broken up. Nasir could tell she was still in love with him, she just had to find her way back to him.

Ofelia blinked up at Nasir. "Its fine with me babe. After all she's in a new place and she likes him at least a little. She'd be closer to our room too so it would be easier to get her if we needed to." She said and then looked back at the little girl and watched her play for a moment before looking back at him. "The decorations in there might feel more at home for her too." She said and glanced at Rowan who wat watching Roshia play with Meriela and the stuffed animals with such a loving smile on his face. She was glad that they were getting along better. She had hated seeing them fight, and they did that a lot.

Nasir looked at her and was deciding on it. He didn't want Ofelia to treat Meriela any different than she did the rest of the kids, he would give it a shot and hoped for the best. "Okay..." He said softly before getting the crib and walking out before walking back in. "Roshia so help me god if I come out and my baby is gone." He said. Roshia slowly looked over at him. "You gon do something? No, but freaking Ofelia will." She sighed before looking back over to her niece. She couldn't believe Ameria, but who was she to judge when the twins could have been his. "What is her name?" She asked. "Meriela." He said softly. "Meriela..." She said softly and she looked at Roshia before giggling. "Ugh I love you already, but I have to go. I only came over so I could see if I would catch your daddy and momma in the act." She sighed and stood up. "I have to go get my own babies from Ivie before Forrest tries to marry Arrow again." She said and gently grabbed Rowan's hand and walked out.

Ofelia smiled big at Roshia when she said she would do something and then shook her head when she said she was trying to catch them in the act. They hadnt even tried that nonsense yet, Ofelia wanted to get the okay that her scars and stuff were all nice and healed before they did all that, and Lor had been a busy girl. Ofelia waved goodbye to Rowan and Roshia and then leaned on Nasir and looked at Meriela. "She's really really cute hun. Oooh I'm going shopping for her in the morning." She said and then blinked. "What did you want to tell the boys? Theyre kinda young to know about you and your sister." She said softly.

Nasir held her gently, "Thanks, babe..." He said softly before chucking. "Well if you do take Alois with you. He would be so heart broken if you didn't. And if they ask just say it is complicated and that we will tell them when they are older." He said. He wouldn't be like his father was with Elwin, he loved his kids as they were. "I can keep the other three while you do so. Lir looked at me the other day when I fed him like I was a load of bull because I didn't feed him from my tit. I swear..." He sighed before leaning down and kissing the top of her head softly. "Mind staying with her while I get the crib set up? I would say Lir might wake up, but honestly he slept through that damn thunder storm that could have woken up the dead." He said. "Thanks." He kissed her on the lips this time and Meriela made babbling noise. Nasir couldn't help but laugh and looked at his daughter, melting again. "Good make that sound when boys start liking you. Then I don't have to worry about you sneaking off with them." He said and Meriela made a pouty lip. "Oh no... ugh Lir does this to me and it kills me everytime. You can have all the boyfriends... after you train with Auntie Rosie. Mhmmm." He cooed at her.

Ofelia nodded. "Planned on it. I'm gonna need to get her measured to see what size she'll fit in before that though. You can help me in case she gets a little scared." She said and nodded when he asked her to watch her while he set up the crib. She couldnt help but giggle at him when he was talking about her liking boys already. "Lord Nas shes not even two yet. We got another like ten years before we gotta worry about her and boys." She said and shook her head before sitting down next to her and picking up a toy and playing with her.

Nasir watched over them for a second before going into his son's room and moving things before setting up the crib up. Lir just laid there fast asleep and didn't even stir. When he was all done he looked over it and made sure it was sturdy and safe. He decided it was save and then leaned down and kissing his son's forehead before going back over to Ofelia, "Should we introduce the boys to their little sister now?" He asked.

Ofelia and Meriela were both sitting on the bed and Ofelia even had her giggling when Nasir walked back into the room. Ofelia nodded. "I'll go get them." She said and gently patted Merielas head before getting up and walking upstairs to the boys who were both doing different things. Avery was reading and Alois was being a typical little kid and coloring away in a coloring book. "Hey kiddos. How about you come on down stairs okay? We have someone we'd like you to meet okay?" She said and the boys both nodded and got up and took them to the living room and sat them down before going to Nasir. "I got them both in the living room, so theyre ready when you are hun." She said softly.

Nasir watched her leave and looked down at Meriela who looked up at him and raised her arms to be held. He picked her up and held her close. He heard them coming down the stairs and when Ofelia came in and said the boys were waiting he nodded and walked out. He sat across from them and sat Meriela on his knees. "Boys, I would like you to meet my daughter Meriela. The story of how she is my daughter is complicated and when you two are older and if you are still curious then I will tell you. She is a year and three months old. Say hello, Meriela." He said softly and she looked up at him before looking at the boys and babbled.

Ofelia stood by the boys while Ofelia came out and watched their reactions. Avery was over it, like she expected and gave them both a look like "Seriously? Another one?" But he just sat quietly instead of being snarky about it for real. Alois looked up and about screamed. "Shes so cute!" He said and ran up to her and looked at her little pig tails. "He hair is pretty too, she'd be real pretty in green you know." He said and Ofelia laughed. "Good thing you know, You gotta come shopping with me tomorrow for her." She said and he smiled. "Okay!" He said and then sat down next to Nasir. Alois looked a little confused. "You mean you had two babies already?" He said to Ofelia and she didnt now what to say so she looked at Nasir.

Nasir gave Avery a looked before smiling at Alois. He was glad two out of the three kids liked her. He let him faun over her for a bit and she looked a bit confused when he came near her but she just sat there before staring at Avery and then at Alois and then back at Avery. She couldn't figure it out and Nasir chuckled. When he asked Ofelia is she had two babies and then looked at him he mentally sighed. "Meriela has a different mother. I just found out that she is my daughter. So she is knew for all of us. Treat her well okay?" He said before looking over at Avery.

Alois looked at Nasir and then gave him a look and Ofelia sighed. "Dont give him that look dear. We didnt know each other yet." She said and Alois calmed down and shrugged. Avery wasnt really phased by even a little bit of any of it, nor did he really care as long as she left him alone. Alois nodded at Nasir and then hopped down. "Can we go play with Aspen?" He asked and Ofelia nodded. "Stay in the front though." She said and the boys ran out together. Ofelia couldnt hold back her giggles. "You were in trouble for a minute there. Alois was gonna punt you dear." She said and shook her head before looking back at Meriela. "You think she needs anything right now?" She asked.

Nasir watched his sons run off and play before looking at her. "I don't think so. I am pretty sure she has enough diapers in her bag and some clothes." He said before holding his baby close. She looked up at him and laughed before playing with his hair and looking at Ofelia and babbling. "Look, babe. I am fluent in Babble. She says, daddy's hair is gorgeous, but yours is even better. I swear it. No lie. That is from her lips not mine." He smiled and she giggled again. "Mmm weeches..." She said.

Ofelia laughed a little bit and then blinked. "She said all that? Oh why thank you. Yours is pretty too." She said and flipped her hair a little bit and then looked back at her. "Oh peaches huh? I'll go get you some." She said and then walked off to the kitchen. She washed, pealed and then diced up some peaches for her and came back with the little pieces in a bowl. "You wanna set her in the highchair we got for Lir?" She asked Nasir and set the peaches on the highchairs tray for her with a spoon in case she knew how to use one.

Nasir watched his woman go become coming back. She mentioned the high chair and he nodded. He got up and went over and placed her in. She took one look at the peaches and giggled with delight before pickling up the spoon and eating them. "Weeches!" She laughed before babbling some more and eating more. Nasir watched her with a big smile. "I got so many beautiful kids." He said before looking up at Ofelia, "But seriously is it okay for Lir to always be so deep into sleep? It is all that titty milk. I swear." He said with a smirk.

Ofelia looked at Nasir and nodded. "Yes, yeas we do dear." She said softly and then looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "Oh i'm sure he's fine, he's a growing boy. Hes already growing too much, too much sleeping...Maybe I didnt sleep enough as a baby...huh...Maybe thats why im so short...." She said and then laughed a little. "I would be that kid that didnt ever sleep. Sounds like an Ofelia thing...But I will ask Lor at his appointment in a couple of days, and I'll get one set up for Meriela too while i'm at it." She said and put her hands on her hips. "The boys might be due for one too, but Avery's gonna be a butt about it..." She sighed.

Nasir looked at her, "I should ask my momma. If she says I did the same thing then guess who is gonna be a tall one?" He chuckled before reaching over and pulling her into his lap. "Yeah all the kids are in need of a check up. When you go for Lir ask her if Adrian can take a look at him and then have him explain to Adrian about why he thinks girls have cooties. I think I get what he means, but Adrian knows more about medical terms than me." He said and nibbled her neck. Meriela pointed at them with her spoon, "ooooo!" Nasir looked up. "You oooooing me?" He asked her and she nodded. "Yobba yobba yyooooaabbbbaaaa!" She giggled. Nasir blinked, "Well dang it was just a nibble."
