Nothing bad ever happens in the small town of Violet Blues, Louisiana. That was, until recently.
Hell, there hasn’t even been a murder in Violet Blue for about thirty-three years, until the preacher’s eldest child and only son died, gruesomely at that. It caught some attention too. It didn’t seem like your ‘typical murder’ where someone get’s shot during a robbery, or a situation where you were in the wrong place at the wrong time. The Finch boy had his throat slit inside his father’s church, and blood surrounded the walls and pooled on the floors. It seemed thought out, well-planned. It also didn’t seem like something a normal person could do, according to the towns folk.
The thing is, not everyone in this world is human. A while ago the vampires came out of the coffin so to speak. Yeah, there was havoc for awhile, people didn’t know how to react; some churches broke off into radical groups whose whole point was the destruction of vampires, governments didn’t give them basic human rights, etc. This changed a bit over the years as people got used to them. They still don’t have every single right in the book, but enough to get by as normally as they can, and most churches are still angered and babbling on about how they aren’t real people who have no soul. But it’s become the norm, as much as vampires can be.
People in Violet Blues are throwing around the idea that one of these Vampires killed the Finch boy. His father the preacher, who has a very well known hatred of these vampires for killing his wife (though, no one knows that he was the one who actually murdered his wife simply for having an affair on him with a vampire), is one of the top believers of this theory. He’s even more enraged his daughters were the ones to find him. Too bad for him that he doesn’t even know his daughters aren’t the most regular human being either. His eldest has the power of precognition, and his youngest, who isn’t even his daughter at all she’s the product of her deceased mother’s affair with the vampire, is a half species.
The vampire sheriff of the district Violet Blues belongs to has come to town, trying to figure out the murder of the boy in order for there not be be any trouble or an unfortunate uprising against the supernatural community. Lucky for him, his brother who went rogue has settled down in this small town, so he’s enlisted his help in order to figure out this peculiar case.
