Warrior Cats featured four Clans: RiverClan who hunt fish and swim in rivers, ThunderClan who hunt in the thick trees and undergrowth, WindClan who raced across the open moor in pursuit of rabbits, and ShadowClan who lurked in the murky swamps. Back when the four Clans still lived in the old forest, there was a peculiar bunch of siblings that resided in WindClan: Three brothers and a sister. The oldest was Fuzzykit; after him was Swiftkit and Shadowkit. The youngest of the litter, and the runt, was Rainkit. These kits were raised by a WindClan elder named Runningbrook, who had given up her nest in the elder's den to raise the kits when their parents were killed in battle and they were orphaned. The kits lived a happy life, not thinking much about who their parents might be. However, around the age of five moons Rainkit began having odd nightmares. In these nightmares, there was a cat who smelled of fish and water. There was also another cat who was a tom, and reeked of blood but other than that had no scent. After these dreams began to recur, Rainkit confided in the medicine cat - Barkface. He did his best to ease the young kit, but could do little to stop the nightmares except give her poppy seeds. When Rainkit and her brothers were a little older than six moons of age, Runningbrook passed into the paws of StarClan due to old age. Tallstar - the WindClan leader - took this as a sign that the four kits were ready to begin their warrior training. Fuzzypaw, Swiftpaw and Shadowpaw all had a relatively easy time with their mentors; but their sister was a different story. Her mentor wasn't cruel or abusive, but was hardly ever impressed with her apprentice's efforts and was often harsh when critiquing Rainpaw's performance.Determined to impress the cruel she-cat, Rainpaw sought the help of an older apprentice who began to secretly train her at night. As a result, Rainpaw hardly ever slept. However, she still worked diligently for her Clan. Fighting through sleep deprivation, Rainpaw hunted and trained harder and more frequently than her brothers as well as other apprentices. She also took care of the elders without complaint and aided Barkface in gathering herbs. Throughout this time, Rainpaw and her brothers gained a reputation not only within WindClan, but other Clans as well. They were well-liked and respected by cats - young and old - of every Clan. Even in times of war, cats couldn't help but be positively drawn to the WindClan siblings. They were so highly regarded that Tallstar performed their warrior ceremonies at a Gathering, feeling that all who were close with the cats should be able to celebrate with them. Thus they became Fuzzyshadow, Swiftshadow, Shadowpelt and Rainshadow. The night after her warrior ceremony and silent vigil, Rainshadow had a dream in which Runningbrook - her deceased foster mother - spoke with her. The StarClan cat informed Rainshadow that she was not of WindClan birth at all, but in fact was the child of a RiverClan she-cat and a violent rouge tom, and Tallstar had agreed to take in the kits in order to protect them from their malicious father. Before disappearing, Runningbrook tells Rainshadow that, "Rain will spread a fire that will bring peace amongst the Clans." The moment Rainshadow awakes, she immediately confides in Barkface and tells him what Runningbrook told her. Barkface confirmed the truth about Rainshadow's birth, and told her that he had received the same message from StarClan just a few sunrises before Rainshadow and her brothers were brought to the Clan.Rainshadow informed her brothers about the truth of their birth, and then was haunted by StarClan's message for many moons. She was so terrified of what it might mean that she avoided sleeping, taking the time to work instead. One night, during a period of unease amongst the Clans, the exhausted Rainshadow is asked to escort Barkface to the Moonstone so he can speak to StarClan. Once the two cats reach the Moonstone, Rainshadow collapses and falls unconscious. Waking up in a dream, she finds herself in a large clearing that she's never seen before and is surrounded by StarClan cats. The spirits tell her to journey beyond WindClan's borders to find this place, and so she does. Her brothers tag along with her, refusing to let their sister travel alone. When they finally discover the clearing StarClan had shown Rainshadow, they find it over-run by rouges and loners. A few cats recognize Rainshadow, saying that they recognize her from dreams that they've had since they were kits. It's eventually discovered that these cats are the kin of estranged SkyClan cats from the past. They have Clan blood, and are destined to become the members of a new Clan that Rainshadow has been chosen to form.Upon returning from her journey, Rainshadow requests that the leaders and medicine cats journey with her to the Moonstone to speak with StarClan. They agree, and all have a combined dream where they are trapped in a rainy moor surrounded by rivers, swamps and forest. After awhile, the cats notice that the raindrops are sparkling - as if they are shrouded in stars. The medicine cats interpret this as Rainshadow's sign that she is to become leader, earning the name Rainstar. Not long after, the storm is broken by a rain-drop-shaped shooting star that is a fiery orange color, which breaks the storm clouds apart. Barkface sees this as a call-back to the first message: That rain will spread a fire that will bring peace to the Clans. At this realization, nine StarClan warriors appear. Some of them are from WindClan, but others are from the other four Clans. Tallstar notes this as an unusual occurance and one of the StarClan cats explains that it will all make sense in a moment.Rainshadow is given nine lives and the new name, Rainstar. The StarClan warriors then explain that Rainstar will lead a group by the name of FireClan. They say that FireClan will act as "peacekeepers", meaning that their purpose is to maintain peaceful balance between the other four Clans. As a result, Rainstar is told that she must teach her new Clanmates the special skills of each Clan. They must know how to swim like RiverClan, hunt in the undergrowth like ThunderClan, stalk in the shadows like ShadowClan and run swiftly across the open moors like WindClan. Rainstar agrees to these conditions and returns to her new home in the FireClan camp. At first she is crestfallen about leaving her kin behind in WindClan, but when she returns to her new camp she finds that her brothers have come to join her. And so the five Clans lived harmoniously for many seasons, however a fight eventually broke out between the Clans and the Dark Forest, leaving Rainstar dead and the main four Clans completely obliterated. Any cat who remained alive left for a new life, leaving all but FireClan to be a distant memory. Awhile later Runningstar, the successor to Rainstar, received a prophecy that - in short - told him that Rainstar’s three brothers and another tom were going to rebuild the lost Clans. Thus, StreamClan, StormClan, DuskClan and MoorClan were created, who now live in the paws of those before them along with FireClan and continue to follow StarClan’s will.
- Warrior Code applies, please follow it. A link has been provided.
- Mates allowed, but no sexually graphic depictions
- Fighting allowed, but please don’t make it to violent. Also you can not kill or gravely wound (i.e blinding, paralyzing, etc.) a character without permission from their creator.
- Ceremonies must be performed.
- Apprentices must have mentors.
- There are kittypet, loner and rogue roles, but if a character from any of these roles joins a Clan they must change their name to a Clan name and be put through training.
- Forbidden roleplays (i.e medicine cat having a mate, warrior mating with an outsider or cat from another clan) are permitted.
- No powerplaying/god-modding
- No hybrids (i.e bird-cat)
- Rouges/Loners/Kittypets can not form Clan-type groups
- An application is required for each character, however you only need to this once. For example, if your character starts out as a kit you are not required to make a new application when they become apprentices, warriors, etc.
- Medicine cats choose their apprentices, not the leaders! I can’t stress that enough.
- There are only two medicine cats permitted at one time in a Clan, that means a medicine cat can only have one apprentice.
- No names that you wouldn’t find in the book (i.e “Rainbowkit”, “Trashleap”) the exception to this rule is anyone who is a rogue/loner/kittypet, but characters in those roles can’t have warrior names.
- A warrior can only have two apprentices at a time.
- Warriors cannot have disabilities that would prevent them from hunting or fighting (i.e paralysis, blindness, deafness). Any cat with these disabilities, if the medicine cat has chosen an apprentice or does not want the character as an apprentice, must be made an elder.
