Description

Du Vercinge Lagion is the name of the military component of Istalri Nianya. It is both the name of the primary infantry, and the term used over all the military.
Image
Du Vercinge Lagion, The Legion Warriors, is the Primary Military Force of Istalri Nianya. It is comprised of nearly three billion magically enhanced warriors. Each Warrior undergoes training in advanced martial arts, various forms of the standard military weaponry they will use, as well as simplified combat magic. The training takes nearly 3 years, and upon completion each warrior undergoes a trial. If they pass, they will be changed physically and mentally into a Warrior. Warriors are all around 7 feet tall, usually weighing at three hundred odd pounds, with metallic colored hair, eyes that shine with their own light, with elongated canine teeth, long pointed ears, and usually pale skin tones that seem to glow. They also have seven toes to each foot, and small nubs that protude from the end of their shoulder blades. These warriors are are Stronger, Faster, Quicker of mind and Sturdier of Body. And in addition to all that, each one is immortal. Upon the death or destruction of their body, their physical forms revert to an energy which is returned to a soul collection device, whereupon it their bodies are reconstituted and ready to return to battle.
Image
Du Orya Abr Sundavr is a special ops division of Du Vercinge Lagion. These warriors are selected from the standard stock for keener eyesight, clever minds, and quiet steps. They are the stealth operatives of Istalri Nianya, as well as commanders in their own right. Each one is further trained and honed, taught mastery over several schools of weaponry and magic, as well as educated in combat tactics and command. Equipped usually in enchanted light armor, made of leather or cloth, and wielding weapons of their own choosing, these Warriors are capable, individually, of bringing down entire governments. Like all Legion Warriors, "The Arrows of Shadow" are Immortal in that they are reincarnated upon death at a SCD.
Image
Rangari Vardan: Royal Guards, Elite Protectors of high ranking officials, important personnel, and Persons of Interest. Rangari Vardan are Legion warriors like most of Istalri Nianya's Military. These however, are trained for defense and protection. Usually equipped in heavy Starsteel armor, wielding a Shield without a weapon, Rangari vardan are equipped to last onslaughts from any source for weeks at a time. Especially skilled in magical wards and teleportation, Rangari Vardan stay within three feet of their charges, and at a moments notice can cast a spell that turns their charge into a wisp of energy that is then absorbed into their own body. Once this is done, The Guardian's standard procedure is to return to a safe location at all costs. The Guardian does not stop for any reason until they can assure the safety of their Charge. If It becomes impossible to return to a safe location, The Guardian can assure their charges safe return by destroying their own body. As the Rangari Vardan are Members of the legion warriors, this results in their body turning to energy and returning to a soul collector to be reconstituted. Doing this will mean the end of the Guardian, as the spell sealing their charge can only be released by the caster or through the soul collector. Undoing the spell through the soul collector however, requires a large sum of energy, which is supplied by the Guardian. In this way, the Guardian can ensure the salvation of their charge at the cost of their own existence.

Lagion Vercinge
Legion Warriors typically come equipped with morph state weapons, Magically enchanted weapons that change form to accommodate different purposes. Typical equipment is Starsteel armor inscribed with multiple wards and enchantments to protect against a multitude of effects, Morphstate Barrier shields, Shields that typically appear as medium kite shields, but can extend to full tower shields when needed. They can also be deployed as a stationary cover that generates a magic barrier to protect those behind it. They are also usually equipped with a morphstate starsteel spear that can convert into a longsword and a rifle, as needed.
Legion warriors are trained to use basic combat magic, first aid, and field construction of defenses and traps.
Their magical training includes the use of:

Signs - Simple combat magic cast with one handed gestures to generate effects ranging from forceful shockwaves, conjured fire, to magical barriers and traps.

Inciting - A magical technique that causes an object to transform it's mass into energy as an devastating explosion. This technique is usually used with the legion warriors spears. The tactic has the warrior throw their spear, usually into a mass of enemies or at a armored target. The inciting spell then causes the handle to burn off energy wise first, driving the spear as like a rocket. The second stage has the outer surface of the spears blade transform into plasma energy, which burns and melts through armor. The final stage turns the remaining mass of the spear into explosive kinetic energy, driving the plasma as molten shrapnel in an explosion, effectively killing everything nearby. The effect is like a magical RPG missile.

Reclaimation - A magical technique used in conjunction with inciting. The spell requires the focusing of a warrior upon an object, most often the legion warrior spear. The spell "claims" the object, creating a shadowform of it. When the object is destroyed, the image is made physical. This technique, used in conjunction with the Inciting explosive spear tactic allows legion warriors to pair up in twos. One Reclaims the spear, and the other incites it, allowing him to throw the explosive spear, then take the reclaimed spear and repeat the tactic as many times as necessary.

Ripping - A spell that creates an arcane circle that accelerates anything that passes through it to the speed of sound.

Specialized Troops
Lagion Vercinge has a few battalions of troops who undergo additional training to fulfill a specific role.
Image
Archers: Using longbow's enchanted for strength and range, as well as a large selection of specialized arrowheads that utilize magic and Artificing to produce specific effects, Archers are the long range snipers of Lagion Vercinge, trained to take out key targets at significant distances
Image
War Chiefs: Heavy armored troops wielding axes or hammers. They are slow moving juggernauts that are all but immune to physical attacks. They serve as captains, leading battalions of troops into battle.
Image
Sorcerers: Rather than focusing on martial prowess, Sorcerers are legion warriors who during training showed talent and affinity for magic. These were taken and trained in a separate class that focused more on magical instruction than martial skills. After completing the trials, these Warriors were further trained in advanced practices of magic used for war and combat. They are the battle mages and support units of the Legion Warriors, and are found in any large scale campaign.
Image
Paladins: Armored warriors equipped with specialized light armor. They are capable of flight, and bear staves that use an energy infusion system to accelerate the amazing regeneration abilities of the Legion Warrior Immortal Form. A Legion Warrior's body is mortal, and bleeds as any other, but when as long as that body has energy it will regenerate. The Staves of the Paladins allow them to provide a constant and continuous source of energy to fuel the Warriors Regenerative process, allowing them to heal from the most terrible wounds almost instantly. In addition, the "wings" of the Paladin are in fact a soul collection device known as a Soul Shard. The Paladins are able to reconstitute any fallen Legion Warrior, allowing them to return fully equipped and refreshed to the front line. Unfortunately the efficiency of the Soul Shard is significantly less than the Soul Stone, and the Paladin cannot simply regenerate Warriors one after the other after they die. The Paladin requires a short time to charge up the Soul Shard before it can bring the warriors back to life, and during that time the paladin is vulnerable. Therefore the common practice is to wait until the area is secure before bringing fallen warriors back to life.
Image
Golem: Typically employed as battering rams or siege engines, these large magically formed constructs are made of animated starsteel produced on the battlefield. As it takes a significant amount of time to create one of these, they are usually only present during long running campaigns.
Egryn Abr Fyrn
A subchapter in Lagion Vercinge is dedicated to Engines of War. The tanks, transports, Artillery, and many others are constructed and run by Egryn Abr Fyrn
Image
Sparrow: A terrestial scouting ship designed to fly at moderate altitudes to scout and spy upon the enemy. Equipped with no weapons save a flare launcher, this Egryn seldom sees active combat.
Image
Thundercloud: A high altitude terrestrial bomber. It's slow moving but capable of being flying in upper atmospheres out of reach of most antiair weaponry. Multiple scopes are used to identify targets, whereupon the vessel launches semi self guided bombs to destroy the targets. Each bomb is comprised of a tripartite explosive. The first part detonates in mid air, separating dozens of charges, the second part activates magical construct that super heats the solid material of the explosive, and the third detonates each charge, spreading molten shrapnel the size of watermelons over a massive area. A secondary explosive designed for armored targets has a smaller effective area, but does far more significant damage in that area.
Devastator: Mobile artillery that uses inscribed Starsteel shells for long range damage. Each shell is magically enchanted to convert it's entire mass into energy upon impact, resulting in massive explosions of terrible effect. Each shell can be launched up to 300 kilometers away in standard conditions.

Note
At times it becomes necessary for Legion Warriors to be present for Formal events, as guards or security. When such an event takes place, they have formal armor that they wear, instead of their military garb.

In the vastness of the universe sat a galaxy, and in that galaxy was the Orion spur, an arm long and thin of planets and life. In that emptiness was a lonely planet orbiting a small, dim star. This planet was known as Ordina, the star nameless. It was an unremarkable planet, it had a small population and nothing really valuable about it. On a galactic theater, it was worthless. But it had one trait that made it desirable, one feature that made it important to Du Istalri Nianya.

It was close enough to Aschen space to serve as a staging grounds.

As it stood, the denizens of the small planet woke up one day to find their planet occupied by a fleet of no less than a hundred ships. Ten of which stood out by their sheer size alone, capital ships no doubt, but one among them was larger, the size of a small moon.
Image
This ship was known as Du Daerta abr Kveykva, The Spear of Lightning, and on board it was a man named Mikhael Goedgr. A Mage of high standing in the courts, high enough that he had been selected for the singular distasteful task of conversing with beings of lesser standing. Such was his explanation to his Guardian, who stood silent at his side. "Honestly, why not just get a courier to do this task, it's not like there is anything they could really do about it. A simple letter stating that were using their planet to stage our forays into the Aschen's territory, it's not like it's that hard."

The Guardian said nothing, standing stock still by the oaken door to the mages room. "Oh fine, I suppose it is my responsibility. I mean, honestly it's a rather crucial part of the plan, so of course they couldn't leave it to just anyone. Yes that's it of course, it had to be me. Only I am capable of such a delicate and important procedure." The Guardian continued to show a distinct lack of response to his charge.

Mikhael checked the image fluttering over by a table, powder suspended in the air formed a pair of images, his wife and child. "Time" He said, and the image changed to that of a circle with runes inscribed on it. "Near enough that time I suppose. Inform the Captain that we'll be departing soon. I want a full retinue, just in case. Not that I don't trust you, friend, I just have a poor feeling, and you know how I get when I start feeling poor about something"
The Guardian, as ever, was silent.

Shortly after, the Mage had prepared and set out the door to his room on his way to the transport center. As he passed, endless scores of soldiers paused to salute him before continuing on their way. At his destination, a massive room with a vaulted ceiling, the center of which was occupied by a triangular spire. The three faceseach had a circular window, inside of which a rune of power glowed brightly. Magical formula and inscriptions traversed across it, and operators stood beneath those windows, pressing their hands to the constructs lain before them, activating them and changing the forms of the runes of power. A group of fifteen soldiers approached the Mage, all of whom saluted before one stepped forward and said in their language "We stand to serve you, High Mage Goedgr. The Path is open, and we are ready to go."

"Very well, lets be off then" He said to them, stepping forward towards the spire. As he stepped forward a rush of power washed over him, and with is a sensation of walking through a flurry of wind and snow. Down below on the planet, at a place of congress and power, a group of warriors stood guard over a trio of women with glowing eyes who where channeling power into a arcane circle.
Image
In this beautiful city, in a courtyard of the place of leadership, three women garbed in exotic flowing dresses channeled power into a ritual, creating a circle of power. From this circle a light energy rose , and from that energy, as though stepping through a cloud of mist, came High Mage Goedgr, his Guardian, and the soldiers assigned to him. This group continued on their way up the steps into the palace and to the seat of the high minister. Along the way, more warriors stood guard, keeping watch over the city and it's people. In the palace itself even, in the throne room itself, these warriors were placed. The planet was undoubtedly under foreign control, at least for now. High Mage Mikhael Goedgr approached the minister with a smile and bowed before him. In common speech he spoke "Come now, dear sir, there's no need to be so frightened. We come here in peace and mean you no harm. I have been sent to negotiate an alliance between your small world and the might of Du Istalri Nianya."

The Minster shuffled in his chair, he had been sweating all morning from the moment an alarmed secretary had burst into his room crying of an invasion, right through till the meating with this representative from whatever istalri nianya was. His chair was almost slick with the sweat, his clothes just about drenched. The entire defensive force had been completely overwhelmed, and so quickly that it might have been a simple game. Their weapons had been all but useless against the endless swarm of armored soldiers, their machines of war had somehow been sabatoged before the engagement even began, which only worried the minister more. "Is this a betrayal, a coup? Is something trying to usurp me?" The minister had screamed when he'd heard of these things. In truth, he had been the prime minister for almost thirty years. He had enjoyed limitless power and no challenge to his authority in all this time. He had cultivated an image of an elderly man caring for children, done his utmost to keep everyone docile and peaceful and happy, and had bought off or otherwise dealt with any competition before it could trouble him. He had been a gentle enough tryant that nobody had noticed.

'And here it all ends with the invasion of another people, oh why couldn't the just find a different world, we don't have anything worth taking damnit!' He thought to himself, trying his best not to glare at the High Mage, who had continued speaking while the Minister was lost in his own world. "And I assure you, no harm will come to your people, so long as they do not upset the peace. Together, we can make this world a paradise unequaled throughout the galaxy!"

"So, what do you say your lordship, do we have an Alliance?"

The forces deployed from the spires showed no signs of slowing down. The crater now held almost three hundred warriors, while the rest were forming into ranks near the spires and preparing the march from there. In total nearly seven thousand warriors had been deployed to the city through the spires, and more continued to stream forth in an endless cascade of golden armor. The energy around the spires began to shift and form clouds above them, and from these clouds the ships came. Golden ships with red and orange bands adorning the hawk like forms of fighters, that passed through the Gatr field into the cities airspace and began an agressive sweep and scan of the city. Several dozen of those ships flew forth, like the ravens that gather before a battle to feast on the dead that shall cover the ground in the aftermath.

One vessel that passed through was different. Like a whale with wings, thirty meters in length it passed over the crater itself and from it's belly a light shone. Three warriors glad in garb all but identical to Ayanna's crashed at her side as she rose from her kneeling position. One had Metalic Blue hair and eyebrows, and his gear was styled after a monk of Tai chi, with metal gauntlets upon his hands. Another had bright ruby red hair, which appeared almost featherlike off of his head. His garment was styled like the robes of a priest, and he carried a bladed staff with a long cyrstal wand at one end, and a stout blade at the other. The third was dressed Identical to Ayanna, save his arms were bared to the shoulder, revealing the twisting runes and sigils tattooed into his flesh. His hair was oil black and formed short sharp spikes that were rigid and unyielding from his scalp. In each hand he carried an intricate Axe made of dark green and blue starsteel.

Each of these she addressed in her native tongue, "Drek'Thaleen, Molnish, Ekfricai, the foe before you is some form of aberation of extreme power, most likely an abyssal lord. Drek and Ekfricai, distract her while I dispatch of the two on the building over there, so that they cannot assist. By the time I'm done the Sun Spears will be ready. Molnish you prepare a mass power trap spell."
At that the one with red hair looked to her in surprise and replied "You intend to take the entire barrage upon us?
"I do" She answered him, lifting her long hand and a half blade and twirling it to lay at rest over one shoulder. "We resolve this, then move on the cities primary defenses and secure the area for the Rooks Impact. These are our orders, this is our mission."

With a flash of light from her eyes, and a halo of energy sheathing her body, Ayanna cried out a challenging roar, before leaping forward in an explosive maneuver that shattered the already broken ground she had stood on. She dashed straight at Emily, shifted her body trying to pass around her to launch herself out of the crater. If she could make it through, it would take only three strides to clear the crater, strikethe foot of the building where Kinoko and Hana took shelter, then leap up the side to come at a hover in front of Kinoko. The Warrior would then swing her blade, the edge flashing with a light that blinded any who might look upon it, and in a single circular slash she attempted to cut down both the Saiyan and Majin before they could be any further nuisance.

Emily seemed to be pleased at Renalus' decision, and returned to her usual posture of closed eyes and hands affixed in prayer. However, when others joined the fray on Ayanna's side, Emily awoke, spreading her arms to the side. "Ungrateful maggots...you unknowingly live because I allow it."

As soon as Ayanna started to move in the slightest, Emily herself vanished from sight, her form dissolving into nothing quicker than you could snap. She was suddenly standing behind both Drek'Thaleen and Ekfricai, having moved with a speed nearly impossible to fathom. She spoke loudly and clearly. "My Acolytes, you will be called upon to fight momentarily. She who interfered earlier seeks your lives. Fight her as a team, but do not use the Amulets! I'll fight with you for now, but I cannot stay forever; if I began using more of my power, everyone here is at risk."

She smiled, and took up a fighting stance that had her stand pigeon toed, her thighs loosening and squeezing towards each other, as though she was attempting to hold something between them. As her knees bent forward slightly, her back remained straight as an arrow, and slightly held her hips forward. Coupling with the awkward appearing stance was her arm manipulations, holding one arm in front of her, bending its elbow and arranging it so that the back of her hand faced the two she was behind. Her other hand was tucked right behind her elbow, floating just inches from actually touching her arm.

"Now, try and hurt me. If your goal is to distract me, I will oblige of my own will."

The distorted voice was fully present, and this same voice rang loud to Lucifer and Renalus. "These beings seek to overcome this planet and those on it. I'd recommend you aid stopping such an action, lest I leave you to your fates."

--

Kinoko and Hana both gritted their teeth at Emily's warning, and then it happened; Ayanna was before them. Kinoko vanished from sight as well, rapidly moving to get a safe distance away in the air as she began powering up. Without her armor, she was lighter and tougher than before, and no doubt being almost killed was a massive boon to her. Hana was cut in half by the blade, but let out a battle cry and pulled herself together, fixing any remaining damage to her person, which included a complete undo of Ayanna's circular slash. "Kee hee hee! You'll need to do more to stop me!"

Lucifer looked between the three different parties though his mismatched, battle damaged optics, the yellow lense over one was cracked and chipped, the other, for the moment was fully intact. With the humans retreating he had hoped that would be the end of it, that everyone would part ways and cease the conflict. Though the arrival of more of Ayanna's people proved that was not the case, and it was confirmed when they engaged Emily in combat.

He was glad the human soldiers were out of immediate danger but if this escalated any further it was only going to get worse, for everyone. He hesitated for a mechanical moment, mere microseconds before hefting his weapon and charging after Ayanna, she appeared to be the leader, if she could be made to see reason, this could stop.

The marines escaped a mile away from the crater to five Thunderhawk transports. 20 marines each boarded each transport and took off back to the skies. "Marshal Renalus, I do not doubt your decision to withdraw but do you think that the enemy was playing a mind game with you?" The librarian asked as he turned to face the Marshal. "No, I believe she was actually being serious as much as I hate to admit. However we have new pressing matters, our "allies" that we have made an alliance with...its not normal to have ten ships orbiting the planet. Its too convenient...almost like they were planning something before the demon threat arrived. I will contact the battle barge and the Blood Ravens to keep an eye on them." Renalus spoke and the Librarian nodded, agreeing with the Marshals prediction.

"This is Marshal Renalus to The Remembrance Of Truth. This is an urgent matter, encode this vox channel." Renalus spoke and seconds later the transmition would be encrypted so no one could listen to their conversation unless they were hacked. "I want all crewman to keep an eye on those ships surrounding the planet. I fear that they may be trying something, contact the Blood Ravens and tell them the same, also tell them to request reinforcements from any Chapters or Guard regiments that are able to reinforce us. I am also prepared to return to the ship, ready all weapons and raise shields." Renalus spoke and cut off his vox.

The Thunderhawk Transports would return to space and dock on The Rememberance Of Truth.

The sorcerers near the spires had completed their work, and now near every spire was an obelisk covered in runes. The ground around the obelisk had turned dark, and smoke like vapors now came from its surface. More sorcerers came through the gatr fields, and they began grouping up in fours, channeling energy in between them, where lumps of starsteel started to form and take shape. The troops that had come through finished forming up and began marching throughout the city to secure a 100 kilometer area around the crater. They did not assault anyone however, unless they were attacked first, or those they encountered carried weapons. They would go forth confiscating weapons and commanding all they encountered to evacuate the area, as they canvassed the city, going building to building. Several archers climbed the buildings surfaces and formed sniper nests, while Fyrnskain were at the head of every marching column.

The large whale like vessel had been joined by several others, and all of which now erupted with a voice over loud speakers. "Evacuate the area now if you are able, otherwise remain your homes and await instruction. This area is soon to become a battlefield, and you need not lose your life to our war." The voice repeated over and over as it flew over the whole of wing city, warning all those found therein.

Meanwhile, in higher orbit, the energy for the weapons of the nine ships had grown enough that it could be seen on the surface of the planet. What appeared to be nine bright stars had collected above the atmosphere, and energy continued to grow as the ships prepared to fire their weapons.

In the crater, the legion forces present began forming a perimeter around Drek, Ekfricai, Emily, and Molnish. They deployed their barrier shields in a ring around the conflict, then formed up their shields raised to form a solid wall, an attempt to contain the fight. Molnish blinked at the sudden movement of Emily, then groaned as he lept back. "Ekfricai! I thought you promised we'd never have to face another dark god?" He said before beginning to channel energy into several spells. First a magic barrier formed over him, effectively cutting him off from being assaulted. Then, reams of energy wrapped around Drek and Ekfricai, enhancing their movements and strength. Finally, an arcane circle of power radiated out from his position, growing slowly but steadily larger as he chanted the spell.

Drek and Ekfricai both lept away from Emily when she appeared behind them, Drek rolling to his feet while pulling his axes, Ek flipping forward and twisting to land in a combat stance. Ekfricai responded to Molnish with "Come now, brother. I made that promise over a millennia ago, you simply cannot expect to hold me to it after so long". Drek growled in his throat "Non verbal communication only, and only whats essential. Our enemy is able to understand us. We hold an advantage, and we will make use of it."

Ekfricai and Molnish nodded, then Ekfricai leaped forward and began assaulting Emily with multiple styles of martial art, smoothly transitioning from one into another and then another. He began with a leg sweep, and would follow it up with a chop, flipping over his opponent to strike a rapid barrage at her opposite side. And while they traded blows Ekfricai would speak candidly "It is rather uncommon to encounter a dark god who uses martial arts in any form, I am pleasantly surprised to have such a foe to measure myself against."

Meanwhile Ayanna followed up her attack, after landing on the building, with an explosive charge towards Kinoko, striking fast and strong with her blade, first over then under, then at the sides, her blade rippling with light and leaving streaks in the air with every swing as she tried to cleave the Saiyan into pieces.

Accompanying the voice was a column of soldiers in golden armor carrying shields and spears, headed by no less than three similar soldiers wearing heavier armor and carrying only a large and devastating looking axes. These soldiers marched down Sol Avenue, a few here and there breaking off to smash down doors and infiltrate buildings, forcibly escorting those within outside. Several more lightly armored warriors climbed to the tops of the buildings and established sniper nests.

Outside the windows of the OmniCorp Headquarters a voice carried on loudspeakers reverbated and echoed through the facility. ""Evacuate the area now if you are able, otherwise remain your homes and await instruction. This area is soon to become a battlefield, and you need not lose your life to our war." It said, repeating over and over.

Accompanying it was a troop of golden armored soldiers carrying tall shields and spears, marching towards the headquarters. They were headed by a large, heavily armored warrior carrying a heavy warhammer.

Several aircraft shaped like hawks tore through the air in a thunderous sound. They flew low over mainstreet, on their way to the space port.

A larger ship followed them, like a whale with wings. From loudspeakers a voice repeated over and over "Evacuate the area now if you are able, otherwise remain your homes and await instruction. This area is soon to become a battlefield, and you need not lose your life to our war.".

In addition, column upon column of troops wearing golden armor marched down the street. breaking into buildings and demanding the inhabitants evacuate the area, escorting them by force where necessary. The head of each of these columns were lead by troops wearing heavy plated armor carrying massive axes and hammer. More lightly armored warriors carrying what appeared as enchanted bows, scaled to the rooftops of buildings and began setting up sniper nests.

High above it could be seen by any who looked up, as though nine stars had begun to shine close to the planet.

"Evacuate the area now if you are able, otherwise remain your homes and await instruction. This area is soon to become a battlefield, and you need not lose your life to our war." A voice echoed over loud speaker and could be heard throughout the area.

Not long after, several thousand soldiers marched in rank and file through the city, splitting off to comb it for any and all inhabitants. They would try to forcibly escort everyone they came across with them, leading out of the area. Several larger troops, covered in heavy armor and wielding massive axes or hammers marched at the head of each column. Lighter armored warriors climbed to the rooftops and established sniper nests.

And high above, what appeared to be nine stars shone brightly in the sky.

The wind carried echoes of a voice upon it. "Evacuate the area now if you are able, otherwise remain your homes and await instruction. This area is soon to become a battlefield, and you need not lose your life to our war." it said, echoeing and repeating from far away.

A group of hundreds of golden armored warriors marched through the slums, Shields were slung upon their backs and swords poked from over their shoulders and the sheathes on their hips.

Jinhai's hand bearing a swirl-eye goes about looking at things while jinhai speaks, "Myrkul's Vein forbids fights among the written. I am written with the title of Jinhai. Was allowing wars among your emperor's titles an oversight? Among the black titles are too tenuous and many are unwritten so the cloud survives. What title has your emperor given you?"

It paused as double-ended hard-skinned worms pour from the surface of shrinking 'leather' backpack. A foot long with fourfold symmetry they stop and float with gravity little consideration. The worms busy themselves with scrubbing dirt from the ground eating into weaker rocks. They pour back into its feet then back out again. Jinhai's feet and torso gain a sheen with the surface tasked to build bits of armor from the harvest silica. As worms forage further afield they turn bits of grass and greenery to dust.

Jinhai continues unabated, "We found our last emperor in a foundation stone. Too long unwritten to have a title, face, or to follow. Myrkul's Vein sends me seeking knowledge and a living worthy emperor to take from them a title. Without one it can only remember its past and goal in us. Titles like yours or ones created like Jinhai are too small to will through its altar. So we mourn and wander."

Jinhai's torso lowered down quick paled legs to the knees as if an elevator dropping one floor. There it asks the small title hid behind a leg,"Can you move through space, unknown title? You hide instead."

Seemingly drawn to the infinite cruel chaos a figure clad in yellow robes with frayed at the edges, he wore a mask of pure screaming silver, each face remiscent of the pain and pure suffering he caused with utter malice. He was known by many names, but his true name would echo malevonent shivers over the very foundations of Terra. Unlike the insects above, he cared little for these games. The pieces up above were pawns, useless until they became more. Right now it was merely pleasure. The mask had a crown of strange origins, and when he spoke it caused shivered in the soul, "Fools, predictable, easily led. Now they truly believe they are somehow comporable. In an instance they could be made unexist. And little they could do. In an instance, but I am not playing those games." he chuckled and conjured a throne which rose up to a nearby building so he could watch, "Pawns pretending to be Queens, ambition that has no actual merit. It is merely a circus, carnivale of folly."

"Queens...Kings...Pawns. What does it truly matter Hastor? In the end, All bow to the Black Queen"

Said a very familiar voice as a small child materialized next to Hastor with a small sigh on her face. This form that Alisah had chosen was a small girl, no older then six years with a beautiful sunday dress of midnight black which flowed in the wind of this planet. Her hands were covered with long elbow length gloves and a bonnet of midnight blue that sat upon the top of her head. This form that the monster wore just looked down at the ground at the encroaching army of hapless wits with a look of either pity, contempt or just plain annoyance. Those eyes which looked like a Black Hole itself took in the sight below. It was the kind of look that a mother would give at her misbehaving children when they broke a lamp while playing ball in the house

"I pity them. I had envisioned Humanity to have so much more potential. Yet here they are, about to destroy eachother in some some mad grab for power and glory. Truly this cycle has gone on for far too long. Its all gone to shit and now once this cycle has ended, there is going to have to be a major clean up to reset everything right. What a mess Leolik has made and soon I will have to confront him about this personally"

Alisah let out a heavy sigh and laid down on her stomach and kicked her small legs back and forth in the air, kicking the sunday dress up to her knees and rested her head on her arms.

"And now we watch the collapse of this army once more, time and time again people fail to understand the works that weave this city's fate. What will happen now I wonder. Will the army be smashed, blown to bits, or just paraded through the streets on pikes and spears with entrails falling to the pavement? Where is Evangela when you need her eh?"

She asked, now finally addressing Hastur with her gaze

"I thank you by the way. Letting me out of that prison was a good gesture. You will get to live for a few more cycles"

Her attention turned down towards the army and, from her hands, materialized two bags of popcorn and held one out towards Hastor "Here, for the show. I will give this cycle credit for one thing: It does produce some rather marvelous entertainment"

The harrowed darkness nodded his expression hidden behind the mask, well in reality the being had no true face. Not in the sense mankind could understand or even comprehend, "It matters for the games, good pieces in the game provide enjoyment. Bad pieces like those above pretend to be interesting but once you remove that veneer you see otherwise. I was hoping these pieces could be at least intriguing. Alas they are not."

Pausing he regarded the invasion fleet, sat on his throne while Alisah had her own seat. His throne was ornate and of course ostentatious, with pure gold carved with intricate pictrographs. It was utterly opulent and of course it suited him, "Remember dear, while I understand cycle must end. I rather enjoy this cycle and wish for it to continue, if only the pieces are becoming so interesting. I give not a fig things must be resolved." as he spoke it was evident from his tone he was smirking.

Nonetheless his eyes turned to the sky again, "Of course, wars while entertaining are not as interesting blood orgies or turning parties into bloodbaths. At least in those I can watch my worshippers be consumed by their decadence ending up parodies of utter reality. It's theatrical and appeals to me."

Hearing the remark he replied, "I need interesting pieces, I merely did what was necessary. But remember dear Leng is not part of your cycle nor is the Dreamland. Your pretensions of ever threatening are hilarious, but I can take good comedy. I am not bitter." he chuckled a dark cruel sound that wafted in the air, "You know one of the strangest ends to civilization I saw was a case where a species of aliens that was essentially furballs buried a civilization. It was hilarious, because they are what mortals call cute, but they overrun the whole planet and never stop eating or multiplying." his pallid hands raised as in his hands appeared a furball, "Now what were they called?" as he tried to remember the tribble could not multiply while held in his orb, but it made beautiful cooing sounds, calming even, "Ah yes Tribbles."

Alisah listened to his words and nodded a few bits with each of the words he spoke. She then went back to watching the fighting down below. But at the sound of the cooing, her head moved up as if on a swivel and looked at the small ball of fur in the orb and she just began to grin very very slowly "Oh...my......lord....." She said and stood up and took the Tribble out of the orb and held it tightly to her chest

"I FORGOT I MADE THIS!!!" She exclaimed and snuggled into the Tribble and pet it happily "This...this will be the ultimate joke" Alisah then looked at Hastur and fed the Tribble some popcorn and levitated it into the air and caused the Tribble to mulitply one hundred fold. A blanket of fur now covered the sky as she altered them in the Darkness of the shell. This would be a very good show now as she dropped the Tribbles down onto the streets of Wing City near this army and began to laugh "And now the game begins!"

These Tribbles would rain down on the streets of Wing City near the army. It would be the strangest sight to see as the ground became a very small carpet of tribbles. Upon their landing, they would start to move towards the Legion and make cute cooing noises at them.

As Ekfricai leaped forward, Emily moved her hands and arms behind her back as she lightly hovered off the ground, inches into the air. With the low sweep, her eyes returned to their blue color as her body bent into an arrow shape, letting her avoid the attack. When the chop followed the sweep, she then leaned to the side as his hand came down harmlessly beside her. When Ekfricai then flipped over her, she turned her own body, making sure she was always facing him. While keeping a mental note of Molnish and Drek's locations compared to her, she began subconsciously moving her body with great speed, avoiding or parrying each of Ekfricai's blows.

While Ekfricai and Emily were locked in a very speedy and skillful fight, likely a very enthralling show for the others around them, Emily gave him a response in her distorted voice. "It is part of the facade I uphold for the sake of those around me, though it is now clear to me that you are aware of my true nature. I will keep this form however, for the sake of playing fair; for your skill is commendable to even attempt a fight at the level of challenge you now face."

Emily's body did occasionally bend in inhuman angles during her spate of dodging and parrying, apparently a result of her not trying to hide the truth as much. She was mostly dodging for the time being though it seemed. She was apparently having fun. Of course, most of the fight would not be visible to untrained eyes that were close by.

--

Kinoko, interrupted in her powering up, seemed to put all her effort into evading each swing, but it was clear she was on the defensive for the time being. Seeing her plight, Hana came barreling in from behind Ayanna, attempting to flank her. With each of them on both sides of her, they'd begin fighting alongside each other, both launching various punch and kick attacks at Ayanna when openings were presented. They would double team her to their best capabilities. Ayanna would easily be able to tell that Hana was the slower of the two when it came to the speed of the attacks and parries the two utilized on her (though both still issued attacks at a very rapid pace to the point that normal onlookers wouldn't be able to see anything without special equipment).

An archer posted on a nearby roof noticed the furred creatures, and imediatly pulled an arrow from his quiver. He chanted a quick spell and the arrow turned purple with black lightning crackling over the shaft. He launched this arrow into the mass of furred creatures, where it exploded in a shock wave that disintegrated the nearest of the fuzzballs, the other creatures were hit with black lightning, which then chained to the others, quickly turning them all into ash. Another archer came over to him and asked in the language unique to their kind "Brother, what was that? You wasted a Rip warp spell on balls of lint?".
The other turned to her and shook his head. "No, sister...", He said to his companion, "In my eternity of service I have encountered those creatures before, and believe me... there is no threat greater than the fuzzy apocalypse known as tribbles."

This archer scanned the rooftops and noticed the two unknown entities nearby. He raised his voice and called out to his brothers below, several of whom broke off and tore into the building he indicated. The archer himself readied another arrow and chanted another spell, this one turning the arrow blue. He launched this missile into the air, where it shattered into sparks which then fell upon the rooftop. Where the sparks fell a barrier formed, a field of warp energy that distorted space and time, ripping apart all that passed through it on a subatomic level. He spoke a quick line to his fellow archer, who began running and leaping across rooftops back to the business district, no doubt to make a report.

Molnish continued chanting his spell, his staff levitating before him of it's own power, as his hands spread apart. Streams of energy whirled around him and the staff, shifting, curling, bending, weaving, and moving with his spell, musically chanted in a language known only to his kind. Every so often the energy would stream out and infuse Ekfricai and Drek'thaleen, empowering and maintaining their vigor, so they could perform their task.

Speaking of which, Ekfricai laughed aloud as he continued to rain thousands of different combinations upon his foe, being dodged, parried, and having generally no effect seemed only to add to his mirth. "Indeed dark one, we have met your kind before, and barely survived the event" He said congenially, as though he were speaking to a coworker "And though this may only be a mask you wear, it is a delightful mask and I enjoy the play you perform. At the very least it is not boring" He then back flipped twice as Drek, who had somehow conspired to position himself behind the monk, leaped over his war brother, axes raised to cleave Emily in twain.

The fight nearby between Ayanna and two disciples was likewise fraught with activity. Against one opponent Ayanna would have had no trouble at all, but facing two beings of power such as she was she found herself unable to effectively overpower them, being forced to instead trade blows. Still, the enhancement magic was holding strong, and it would last long enough for what she had planned.
In the middle of the bout she swung at Hana, but then shifted to strike with the pommel of her blade instead, in an attempt to surprise and stun her opponent. Whether she succeeded or not she would then try to withdraw a short distance to prepare for a new tactic.

The shadows of Wing City began to bubble and churn. Their nonphysical properties were lost and they became a sort of magma-like sludge, churning and bubbling silently as they tore away from their homes, leaving many without a shadow. The shadows made their way to a large city square where they would join together, turning the entirety of the streets within and sprouting outwards pitch black.

And so like that it stayed.

Forms began to rise from the shadowy magma, horrid, deformed, screaming creatures under immeasurable amounts of pain. Their screams filled the air of Wing City as their bodies mutated further still. Bones and muscles snapped and realigned without any hint of stopping. Bones began to jut from their heads and curl; their bodies crushed themselves and then exploded a few times, reforming each time stronger than before, until only an army of horrid Minotaur remained. Huge, hulking and still screaming behind their roars and snorts and snarls, their horns dripped with blood and their muscles bulged painfully. In their hands, primitive, chipped, horrid axes dripped with Shadow after forming.

In the center stood a single man; eyes blazing red as if coals from Hell itself. After all; he'd just returned from somewhere worse than hell...in a manner of speaking. Pain and hatred and Darkness fueled him; and with a link to the source of the latter, his power had grown exponentially. His previously Kobold Army was no more, and he replaced them with the Screaming Minotaurs. The man stood with his hands behind his back; his long flowing overcoat hung heavy on his body and obscured everything blow his neck and above his boots. His face was stern and commanding, hair darker than night, skin pale. Red lines marked the seams and trim of his coat, they seemed to pulse and move as if they were veins.

He raised a hand, snapped his fingers, and the Minotaurs all charged.

Emily had no trouble adapting to the new opponent, sliding to Drek's side in a swift evade of the axe swing. As she brought her arms to bear, she attempted to use her leverage, and his recovery time from the swing, to lock his arms aside and prevent him from doing anything in return, allowing her to slide a hand to his neck in a position that would allow her a clean kill.

As Ekfricai moved to stop her, covering for Drek, her body wobbled and spun in place, letting her use her legs to parry Ekfricai while keeping her hold on Drek. What she said next was a surprising comment.

"A poor choice of opening attack. Powerful moves should be saved for when your opponent is off-balance, otherwise, you leave yourself off-balance, and give them an opening to slay you. Try again."

Emily released her grasp on Drek, and prepared to let him attack again, apparently declining to kill. She stood in a position that allowed both Drek and Ekfricai to reach her as well, assuming her bizarre stance once more, ready to now engage both.

"Come at this form."

--

Hana was bashed in the face with the pommel, and immediately relented to grasp at the impact point. "Ack! Awwowowowow!" This made Kinoko stop, allowing Ayanna the space she intended to take to withdraw.

"Hana! You okay? She's good! But we need to finish her fast! She's probably going to try something!"

Kinoko and Hana both watched Ayanna carefully, with Hana pointing her tentacle towards Ayanna's direction, a sort of preparation tactic. "If she tries something funny, Kinoko, I'll bake us a pie!"

Kinoko grinned hearing that. "Sounds good. I'm kind of hungry anyways." She began charging her own energy again, as she held her hands in a ready stance. She wasn't sure what Ayanna had planned, but she was certain it'd be fierce.

This whole situation was going to hell, and there seemed to be little he could do about it, but damned if he wouldn't try. So were the thoughts burning through Lucifer's artificial mind. Maybe, just maybe, if he could convince the woman her battle was meaningless, and that she was bringing more harm than good it would stop. If he could even get her to listen.

He watched the fight unfold as he raced towards it, seizing the opening created when Ayanna pulled back to strategize to position himself between both parties with arms out towards each of them.

"Enough, all of you, this fight has no meaning!" he announced, as best he could with a slightly damaged vocoder giving his speech some static. "Why are you even fighting each other? Have you stopped to consider that?" he demanded of the three of them. "And you," he turned his optics on Ayanna, "What purpose does this invasion serve? Why bring such hardship upon these people?" he asked, gesturing to the city below.

He wasn't in any sort of good shape, half his face missing, armor plating cracked or crushed. One of his horns broken off. "Why do you fight?"
