Lore

Echo Balmont was born the only child to the Balmont lineage, the most well respected Mage family in Anthis. The daughter of Royal Advisor Ulriv Balmont, she grew up in the study of magic. Naturally gifted in the Arcane, Echo shattered not only expectations but limitations as well. By the time she was a small child, she was already competing with Arch Mages much older and more experienced. Even they seemed like amatures compared to her. When she came of age, she was considered a genius, and the greatest mage Anthis had ever known.

The rest? well the rest is up to speculation as there is no Anthis to verify.

So begins...

Patience was not on the repitoir this very day. Waking up in a place that you have no idea about on top of having a very difficult time with the language barrier, Echo was more than a little miffed standing in line at the clothing stop. Tapping her foot impatiently, she peered out from behind the person in front of her to see what the hold up was. what she saw was definately a reason to place a shocked look on everyone's face.

The woman standing in the front of the line wrapped the clerk up with her hair! Echo had seen a whole lot in her life but never anything to do with hair. It was bizarre for sure but it was more irritating thatn anything else. Personal confliuct was not a good enough reason to hold up a line, in Echo's oppinion that was just bad customer service. Also who knew how long this could take and Echo was running low on temper control.

"Oi!" She yelled to the front of the line. "Vescalla Eh?" She spouted of not remembering that absolutley no one around her spoke Anthian. "Ohmi Tsugara eh?" She said tapping her wrist where a watch would be

Catherine sighed, looking upwards, and muttered something under her breath. "Something along those lines, yes." She said eyeing the woman shouting and tapping her wrist. 'Oh wonderful! An audience...' Catherine thought in mild annoyance. The woman would definitely be trying her patience today, along with many others it seem.

"No. Are you always this stupid or are you making a special effort today?" She questioned crossing her arms over her chest. "If you want to cause a problem, then be my guest. You're already way in over your head sweetheart." Catherine added.

"I'm not stupid!" Vanessa declares, pulling back a slap, but stopped when she noticed Echo. She then approaches Echo, fully intrigued by this unique character, "Oh, and you would be?" She asks, beginning to reach to poke Echo, "Do you speak English... Or any fae languages?"

Echo backed away from the poke and furrowed her brow at the word 'Fae'. On Exaldin, Fae were wraiths that haunted olf Fairy Hollows. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a small silver disk, before pressing the center of it with her thumb and holding it up to her lips.

"English" Echo said to the device before she tossed it in front of her where it hovered horizontally mid-air.

The Device glowed with a blue light before a small hologram of a female anthromorphic fox appread standing on it like a platform.
"Thank you for choosing Kunning Corp, bringing the dreams of tomorrow home to you today" the fox woman hologram said with a bow. "The universal translator is now ready for use"

Catherine smirked to herself seeing that Vanessa was easily distracted, which for now was a good thing. But, the situation just got more complicated with the introduction of a foreign piece of technology from the other woman. "Are you always this rude Miss Eris?" She asked tersely. Catherine really didn't want any civilian casualties, regardless.

Grabbing Vanessa by the arm, she pulled her away from the other woman. "Don't let your mind wander Miss Eris; it's far too small to be let out on its own." She commented, before realizing that so many years spent with Alexander as her partner had caused his particular brand of sarcasm to rub off.

Because her writer deams it so.

The door to the kitchen blew open suddenly as an odd, multi-colored disk, came spinning into the room. The disk came to a stop and flipped verticlly to reveal an odd symbol in the center of it. The disk glowed purple for a second before seeming to zoom of into the the distance in the exact spot of reality it stopped in. A bright flash of purple light followed after the odd event leaving Echo Balmont standing in the spot the disk had been, looking very confused and quite shocked.

Her single visible eye darted quickly around the bar to hastily scan the room and her surroundings.

Echo blinked back towards Norrington still with a shocked and semi confused look on her face. "Heh, A Cat" She said quietly and chuckled to herself for a moment. It wasn't so shocking to her though, There were Anthros and talking feral animals on her home planet.

Echo's hair on the back of her neck stood up as she felt the Magic from the other patrons in the bar. It was different, completely different from any kind of Arcana she was used to. Something like that could be dangerous.

"Can you speak?" Echo asked Norrington in a semi hurried tone

"Uh y-yeah sure" Echo said shaking her head and stepping to the side so the cat could walk into the kitchen. She took a couple of steps forwards and scanned the bar for the source of the magic energy, while trying to keep hers hidden. It never worked though, Echo's magic energy, aura, soul, and chi were all completely crazy. The type of power she exuded shouldn't be possible. Any well practiced mage would pick up on it quick should they find it noteworthy.

Echo turned back to Norrington "Any particular reason this place smell like overbearing blood?" she asked with a half hearted smile

"Oh" Echo said furrowing her brow as she glanced around the bar once again. The sound of the blender kicking on startkled her, and made her jump. "why?....... oh never mind" She said looking back at Norrington wondering why a Cat would make food. There were about four thousand health code violations with that but Echo chose not to worry.

The Curse talk however was troubling. Unable to avoid the eavsdrop, she couldn't help but to hear the entire conversation. If Magic worked the same way on this plane as it did her own, a Curse is really the last thing she wanted to get mixed up with. Still, the prospect of learning new things about Magic was too much for her to ignore.

She moved as inconspicuously as she could to sit at a nearby table to hear more of the conversation at hand

How could a city so large be so relient of a single bar for information?

It was a frustrating concept for Echo Balmont. Everyone she had asked for information around the city either told her to "get lost" or "go check Gambit's". The problem was, however, she had already been to the particular establishment twice prior with no luck on any type of information.

Wing city itself was devoid of anything Anthian, not even so much as another platinum haired individual. It was beggining to seem like she was going to have to find a way back on her own. So it was with a heavy sigh that she pushed open the door to Gambit's Bar, an infamous tavern apparently. From what she had been told the establishment had been destroyed several times prior yet rebuilt.

Taking a barstool at the end of the counter, she proceeded to order a drink and wait for some kind of something to walk her way

There sure was an interesting sort that hung around this Establishment, as everyone said there was. How the other patrons could help her though? Echo had absolutely no idea. yet there was nothing to be gained by simply sitting there and wondering what could happen.

So Echo let out a deep sigh and stood up from her bar stool and walked straight over to Jade. "Hey" Echo said as she reached the the other girl. "Got a second?" She asked, a celtic style accent hinting in her words

/metook in a deep breath and exhaled a sigh. Anthians were a naturally competitive race, so backing down from a challenge wasn't in Echo's repitoir of known accomplishments. Never the less she tilted her head and gave a very fake smile to Jade "I don't want to concern you with my troubles, if your just a human I can't expect very much" She said

Echo was never good with keeping her thoughts within her own head.

She turned back to Kyle and scoffed "Andriod? That means you opperate on electricity right?" She said rolling her shoulders and narrowing her visible eye "You'd better back down before you get beat by a girl in front of this whole bar"

Oh he did not!

Echo's eye went wide as she was 'shushed' by the loudmouth in her face. "Excuse me!?!?" She said loudly stepping forward and thrusting her palm forward towards his chest. Her palm sparkled with a grey blue energy which trailed through the air. If her palm made contact with anything there would be a burst of energy that would send whatever it touched flying backwards

As the Laws of Magic work differently depending on the universe in which an individual inhabited, the effects of the Arcane Energy streaking off of Echo's heel would be unknown. Best case scenario would be that whatever the Android used to store energy, would encorporate the Arcane energy and sychronize magic power through the machine. However, Arcane energy is unstable and is not on most military's list of 'Transferable energy sources'. Therefore the posibility existed that the Arcane Energy could react with whatever energy powered the machine and become volitile.

Those were the best and worst case scenarios

As Echo landed on the ground, she did a rather flashy front flip and stood facing Kyle with her arms folded "Surely that's not all you have, You sure talked a lot of shit for that to be your limit" She said as a pulse of energy came from Echo anbd washed over the bar.

"Echo! It's now or never!"

The Platinum Palace rumbled as the very roof of the throne room was torn of and cast away, leaving only the massive vesitige of the Arch-God of Imagination to be seen. The weather outside had gone from dark hurricane to Cosmic Malestrom. THe Magi-Knights leapt into action, casting spells and fighting with all of their pride and ambition. All in vain. With a single sweep of an Omnipotent hand, the Magi-Knights were scattered as if made of dust. Nothing remained, not even a trace of their energy.

"This time, I will make it right. This time I will Kill you!" Echo Balmont screamed to the colossal being looming above her.

With one swift motion, Echo slammed her fist into her opposite palm. A glorious purple and crimson seal appeared around her as she did. "If no one in Exaldin's universe can stop you, Then i'll have to look other places!" She yelled as the Magic seal shone brightly in a blinding violet light and enveloped her entire body.

The dreams of the past fade into distant memories........

Echo awoke in a freefall, high above what appeared to be a massive city. She gasped and tried to correct herself mid-air only to find she couldn't move her body. It was if she was bound by some kind of chain that held tight. She couldn't tell how far away from the city she was but she knew she was falling closer and closer. If she couldn't gain control of herself soon it would be Game over.

Then, a pulse of magic erupted in front of her that seemed to rend the air in front of her as she continued to fall. However, after the pulse she was able to regain control of her body. Even though she was able to move her arms and legs, the pulse had seemed to increase her speed drastically. Before she knew what happened, the city street would come into veiw before Darkness overtook her.

The corrisponting sight in the city would be something like a bright white flash, follwed by a sonic boom and a silver streak rocket towards the ground.

Had it not been for the awfully convenient sound of discord that rung throughout his ears. No sooner than he'd arrived, having tore a trench through the city streets, and what seemed to be a meteorite hurtles its way toward terra firma. He hadn't even had enough time to collect his thoughts. Something this heinous could only be indicative of Westeria. Or was it? A quick glance around gave him a nostalgic dose of Wing City, actually. Whatever the case, he had two choices to make. Let whatever the object was crash into the ground, or do his best to avoid that. Despite having sharp eyes, he couldn't make out what the object had been that was hurtling toward the ground. Most cases? He'd likely annihilate it with Ki based abilities. In this situation? He chose against that. Why? Because something didn't quite seem right.

"Come on, old man. Get your ass in gear..." He mouthed to himself, wobbling forward some before he collected himself entirely. The beating he'd taken from Seixyl had been more than enough to render him a broken mess, but he put forth as much as he was capable of. With a large cloud of dust erupting behind him, he took off into the air at speeds similar to what the girl had been falling at, not that he realized it was as such. It only took him mere moments to catch up to her, arms outstretched initially to push back the object as he assumed it was an actual form of cosmic debris. Much to his surprise he found it was instead the figure of a girl. Before she could even strike his hands, he adjusted his position in a bid to catch her with both his arms cradled out, as if to catch her bridal style, and with his full body behind him so as to not lose her. "What in the?" He spat out, momentarily stunned.

Though he shouldn't have been. It was, of course, another day in Wing City.

Echo's vision came back slowly. At first there was only black with dull shapes, but steadily things came to focus. Her deep purple eyes glistened like gems as she stared up at her apparent savior. Normally her left eye would be covered with an eye patch, but it seemed all of her equipment had been stripped from her in the Dimensional Jump. All of her equipment. Vegishin would be looking down at a very embaressed and very exposed Echo Balmont.

She could only stare, so much had happened........ Or had it?

She gasped and struggled to break free of his grasp as she had the shocking realization that she could remember nothing before suddenly waking up in a free fall. An unfortunate side effect of the spell she cast so hastily.

If it wasn't one thing, it was another. As he did his best to hold fast to her, apparently naked, figure, he did his best to lower them both to terra firma without her slipping out only to fall to her death. She'd already done that once. Repeat mistakes were silly, no? At least he perceived it as such. As he descended whilst she struggled, he made sure as to not look upon her figure, out of respect of course, but did manage to try and lock eyes with her. "Damnit. Hold still!" He barked with a firm, intimidating, tone. Not out of anger, but moreso out of concern. "Unless you want to drop to your death?" He picked up after, lifting a rather stern, yet questioning, brow.

They'd both still been several stories up, so were he to let her go, she'd likely die. At least, that was his assumption. How she'd survived the fall to the point he'd caught her? Well, stranger things had happened. She very well could survive the plummet and ensuing impact...but he wasn't about to leave that to chance. No, she'd just have to..."Calm down, already. You fell from the sky. We're still some stories up. Now relax..." He grumbled, closing the distance to the ground.

Eventually he did manage to reach solid earth and, in that instant, acted to let her down. Unfortunately, he hadn't much to offer her in the way of concealing clothing. It wasn't often he actually had to give someone the shirt off of his back, but he did so, tugging at it until he managed to slip out of it. It was worn, weathered, and pretty tattered with holes in places...but it would work. "Here. Put this on..."
