"Oh god. Oh, god. Oh, sweet, baby jesus." Casper murmured, as he moved deeper into the room. He heard the gun go off, and he heard,
'You're going to die, though.'
and no way was he going to fight off a group of thugs with a floor lamp. He wasn't batshit insane enough. But, he knew that Gabby kept a gun somewhere around her room, so that's where he started. Under the bed. A quick swipe, then the closest drawers, when that was to no avail.
And, bingo. She wasn't exactly trying to hide it, he supposed. If anyone broke into her bedroom late at night, the bedside drawer was certainly the place to keep a pistol. He grabbed the gun by it's handle, and crept to the door.
There was a brief moment, before he'd unlocked it, and ran to take cover behind the bed.
The shot had hit Farai.
There was no dodging, no time to react, and barely any chance to raise their arm as they saw Seamus raise the gun. The shot ripped right through their arm, then into their chest, causing the youth to cry out painfully. They dropped to the ground on their knees, forehead pressed to the floor as they curled up in pain. Well, shit. That was certainly a dampener on their day.
"...Gabby...run...to the room with Casper..." they managed to mumble through agonized hisses. "Go..."
Her reaction was instantaneous.
"Farai!" She shrieked, going to the floor with them, one hand at her mouth as the other hovered over the entry wound. She was gasping for breath, her face pale as she tentatively rested her hand there. Stop the bleeding, she told herself, but with what?
"The HELL WAS THAT FOR?!" She screamed at Seamus, irrate and frightened and sick with shock. "Christ why couldn't you just leave us alone?!"
Her attention returned to the other, eyes worriedly searching for something, anything that could help. "I'm not going anywhere." she hissed back.
"She was annoyin' me." Seamus said as if that explained it all. "Tell your boyfriend to get out of there." Seamus told Gabby, referring to Cas. "At this point I'm a little pissed off at some chinks and you lot ain't makin' it easy on me, yeah?"
"Shea, Michael found a way out into an alley, it seems the slants ain't watchin' it. I'm thinkin' we can use it ta' cut into another buildin'." One of the Irish gangsters told Seamus.
"What's your orders?" The Irishman asked, Seamus tapping his gun against his thigh as he thought of their next move. "We lock these three in, set the buildin' on fire, get the fuck outta here and kill any Chinamen who get in our way." Seamus told his men.
"Sorry, darlin'." He said to Gabby, "You were my favorite guido plaything, but you understan' I gotta keep you quiet. It's da' big sleep for you."
