Hadley is slightly above average for height and a bit scrawny, and her face often betrays how young she is; At nineteen years old she looks to be in her mid to late twenties. She wears her hair around chin length and unkempt, shorter on the right side and longer on the left. Most commonly she wears slightly-ripped jeans, combat boots and a leather biker jacket, the latter two stolen.
To simply call Hadley a "free spirit" is a poor judgement. While rebellion is a common attitude for her and she often stays in solitude, she does at least from time to time yearn for a social group to attach to. Especially as she has become older, that desire for the company of others has grown. Conversely she is argumentative, fiery and brash, and restraint isn't always easy for her.
In terms of equipment or possessions, she doesn't carry much, just a somewhat large fixed-blade knife whose sheath is tucked into one of her boots. She has handled and used a firearm many times before, but currently does not own any.
More notably is a talent of hers she discovered as a little kid, and that is Pyrokinetics. She can generate very large amounts of heat from her body, usually manifesting in the ability to create and project fire. More subtle effects include being able to make sparks with her hands and feet, as well as being near-immune to fire and smoke, something she takes heavy advantage of with her cigarettes.
Bouncing back and forth from orphanage to foster home to juvee to the streets and anywhere else that would take her in, the crises and invasions in Wing City have not at all been kind to Hadley. She received a vague excuse for an education at several different public schools, before they were promptly bombed by various foreign factions. As a young teenager she started traveling with a man in his early twenties, Cricket. As she grew a little older he started trying to bring their partnership to something more than just friends, eventually forcing her to bed with him. Not long after, he was killed in a drive-by shooting, at which point Rayne took everything he owned and set off alone.
She eventually found similarly unscrupulous but more trustworthy company, the Terran Thieves' Guild.
